In Fairness, Tipp looked a physically yery strong team. From a Limerick POV I think we might have 'nicer' hurlers but Tipp will probably win this out, so it is might be no disgrace to lose to them by just two points. Of course home advantage was also a factor-it always is.. I thought the Cork performance was vastly improved from the Limerick game.
Money is a part of it but you need talented players as well. I am a Limerick and we had an U21, that won three All Irelandis on a row, but despite the fact that McManus was sponsoring them then as well they never got anywhere. I just think team are an exceptionally talented team, like the ones we had back in the twenties, thirties and early forties of the last Century and they would have won a lot, even If McManus was never there.
Tipp 2-20 Cork 1-21 FT. A few players did well but what now seems the usual Cork story of losing breaking ball and puck outs
Poor first half left us with too much to do. Goal at the death made it just a 2 point loss.
Daire O'Leary gone off injured, all we need for the weekend
5 down with 10 to go. Better 2nd half but Tipp keeping us at arms length.
Ben O'Connor off the pace but management at fault for playing him with so little hurling done
This is poor stuff by Cork....look rudderless out there tonight
2-12 to 0-9 HT. haven't won a ball in the Tipp half for the last 15 min or so. Tipp much better all over the field.
Feels like watching the senior team. At least we're consistent.
started ok but Tipp well on top now, winning all the breaks
2nd Tipp goal, 2-6 to 0-8 after 18min
early Tipp goal, 1-2 to 0-2 after 8 min
When did a Cork team win a Munster Club Championship last. In the 70s'80 and 90 they would have won about 50% of all these titles.
I like the Extended Panel getting name checked. Is that a new thing? Saw it at the U20 Football game last night too
Strange post posters here are well aware that this team has problems. Are management optimizing the playing resources? I don't think so. I'm not saying that Cork are going to make a sudden transformation into all Ireland winners, but with better management and tactics, Cork would have given a better account of themselves in the all Ireland final last year, and league final this year.
Yee were hammered in both finals take off the blinkers.
Great to see Ben O'Connor back. He was away with the Irish U20 Rugby so there could be a tug of war there in the future. He looks a really good player. Also good to see Daire O'Leary back from injury
Great article here by Derek Daly in the Echo, a lot of home truths there i think.

I have two tickets for the game against Clare on Sunday going for nothing. PM me if you are interested. In return I only want a guarantee that they will be used because I don't want them to go to waste.
We need to show some signs of an improvement, with regards to our tactics, defensive organization, and ability to do the nitty gritty stuff in our remaining games in the Munster championship. Unless we buck up our ideas, it's going to be an early championship exit. With the way the modern game is gone, money is very important. It's no coincidence, that the two must successful counties in hurling and football these last few years, Limerick and Dublin are the two most financially funded and financially well off counties in the country. Dublin have their government grants and the AIG sponsorship, while Limerick hurling is funded by a man of JP McManus's wealth.
That's not me trying to take way from the success of those counties, i'm just acknowledging that to win in modern day gaelic games at the elite level, a county needs to have some serious cash pumped into it. It's blatantly obvious that while we continue to pay off the Páirc Uí Chaoimh debt, that we will continue to find it a struggle, to fund the preparation of our senior intercounty teams, to the same extent that our rivals and competitors are doing. Hurling and football at elite senior intercounty level, is professional in all but name nowadays.
Kerry finish strongly, winning 1-11 to 0-7
Cork 1 down with 10 to go. standard not great, some poor wides from both sides
u20 football, Cork 0-4 Kerry 1-3, 5 min into the 2nd half. live on TG4
Good news, the Cork v Clare game will be streamed on GAAGO
match ups are everything in hurling , if say you put Kingston full forward on Cleary , Horgan on Flanagan you are playing to your advantage , likewise if you put lehane or harnedy or even someone with pace like robbie o'flynn on david mcinerney they could cause us huge problems ,
if i was negative on cork i think tipp today have a better back 6 man for man but bonner didnt know how to manage it
I agree with what your saying but Clare really played well as a team today and they did really well. Cork in my opinion have the better players but its not about whats on paper. Each game does take on a life of its own though but I am hoping the rest will be a reset for us. Tipp were poor today but Clare really worked well so I can't help but but admire them and be slightly worried if we don't match their effort.
