Priced one last year. 2 tonne amazone, €28k. Stopped thinking fairly quick.
Have a 3 ton rauch here, bought second hand last year, can be a bit finicky with warnings and things like that but overall happy enough with it, I wouldn't pay the price for a new one though, especially if it's just grass your spreading.
Ot may be part of the boxes to tick for new part of new cap. Contractor will likely have which may do but tbh outside of spring would prefer to spread our own. Current spinner does ourselves and neighbour but 15 years old and worn now so needs replacing regardless. Both in dero so has a alot of stuff spread. Price is hairy alright esp with no decent trade in.
Do you find you're saving much fert or is it just a case of the job being done a bit faster? Did you need a modern tractor for it or is it just a case of having enough spool valves?
I forgot about the new cap regulations, that was actually one of the reasons I went with it, future proofing.
If split between the two of you the cost would definitely be more reasonable and make more sense.
Not so much saving more so it's going where it should, it's extremely accurate, you could go faster but I generally stick to around 13k it's fast enough I find.
It should come with a control box but you'd need a fairly high end GPS to get the most from it ( section control etc) and their not cheap, you don't need any extra spools, mine is a hydraulic driven machine.

Anyone try the 'Field Navigator' app?. It's free. I downloaded it and it seems to be accurate to within 1 meter, working directly on my phone, no antenna as such. You can save all the fields on it , no bother.

They would be very well regarded when kitted out with the geospread in fairness. Don't know quite what accuracy level of gps signal you'd get away with but you don't need all singing rtk type. Neighbour has one and over dozens of tons can be maybe a few hundred kg out. I'd go through a product specialist rather than dealer for that as dealer will try sell you up the garden path. Amazone or kuhn would be popular where spreading alot of fert but certainly amazone isn't built as durable for what they charge though are nice to use.
Yea, its Ok, biggest issue is not being able to export data (except measured maps). I've been considering AgOpenGPS, but its for a laptop and not as easy to setup, I have an old Lenovo X60 Tablet/Laptop which would be perfect, will need to gunter a heavy duty mount for it. It's a very DIY option but very powerful with options for Modbus, autosteer, section control, RTK etc.
