Dig up!
That just needs to stop. That is too much exploitation of the resource.
I am sure that Ryan knew full well what he was doing when it was announced. He also knows the current government does not want it collapsing so they will do what it takes to stop this happening.
He was proposing to make it happen this September.
It's not actually which just shows how ignorant you people are. Most of the bog is intact.
Not proposing he was stating that he was going to make it happen.
That isn't 100% of the bog though.
Cutting tuft is worse than drilling for oil or gas at sea, they are underground and you are not completely destroying a habitat.
More a solo run from the greens than Ryan on his own.
They have already overstepped the mark attempting to introduce legislation on banning all forms of LNG, where only fracked LNG is in the programme for government, and it looks as if they were attempting similar by lumping turf in with coal.
It`s a crazy misuse of Oireachtas time as well as adding a totally nonsensical unenforceable law to the statute books for no other reason that to cover up the greens embarrassment.
If an uncle sells a few bags of turf to his niece or nephew living in a community of over 500 who is going to be prosecuted, the uncle or the niece or nephew ?
It`s a complete and utter nonsense and a waste of time, money and effort.
They went from 2 TDs to 6 TDs. 200% increase. TDs you could trust.
My mothers TD Cian O'Callaghan is playing a blinder.
Did you read the articles. All of them clearly said "proposal". How is anyone confused?
Can't be trusted in rural Ireland. Dublin politicians struggle to hide their disdain for us.
It's a cheap source of fuel. Once again people showing their disdain for rural Ireland.
SDs have TDs in Wicklow, Cork and Kildare. I live in rural Galway. I trust them more than the majority of the TDs in FF and FG - I have a list of the dodgy ones if you wish.
Another prediction of the demise of the government parties. The fact you mention the SD as having some "super TD's" kind of says it all. Has anyone of the TD's achieved anything in their political careers?
I just wonder why so many times we see this prediction on the thread? its the same few posters on the thread.
The biggest problem you will find with all of these other parties is it's a lot easier to sit on hurlers on the ditch than actually go and do some work. Collect the pay cheque, do a bit to splash across social media and head home, all safe in the knowledge they will never have to make a decision
I am looking forward to asking Thomas Byrne and Helen McEntee if they are strong on cronyism and corruption?
In reality if you live in their area I doubt either will show up :-) they normally have FG and FF supporters going around house to house. So you will be attacking just some poor random person.
I always threat these people with respect no matter what party they are in, if I have no interest in the party I will just kindly let them know that I am not voting and they can move on. Even if it is a TD I will do the same
I never get the people roaring and shouting at people when they go door to door. If you actually feel that strong about the topic do something about it, not wait around every 5 years to roar abuse at someone
They do but thankfully Rural Government TD'S have some clout and there's some issues that they can pretend to ignore but don't, I saw first hand the almost instant fury here in Laois and Rural TD'S ran for cover.
Pippa Hackett, Green Senator and offaly based went on Saturday with Katie Hannon and struggled to justify this nonsense, she actually said the PQ response was Misleading. bad enough getting hammered by the opposition but by your own party colleague 😏
I have a list of FG TDs that did a lot more than collect the cheque alright 😂
Patience grasshopper.
Fine Gael TDs
2011 = 76
2022 = 34
Something something FG something something
TD who make decision and lost seats over it, yet you recommend TD for doing nothing and never want to do anything 😂😂
I am sure we will have another post soon about the demise of the parties over the next “catastrophe” as it will be seen as here.
Once again you insert the word 'demise' into the comment in order to rant about something nobody said.
Can you point out in my post where I said anything about attacking them? Stop making stuff up.
Cork City and the Dublin suburbs of Wicklow and Kildare is what you meant to say. You are in the minority. SF are the only left party which is viewed with trust in rural Ireland. Keep that list to yourself because it will only be a work of fiction.
:-)
Why not do something now instead of waiting around for 5 years to “talk” to them?
If you feel so strongly about it
Again can you answer the question that I asked where I my post did it say anything about attacking TD's or supporters that call to my house? Can you point that out please? It should be easy to do.
It's true their current crop of TD'S based in the areas you refer to but I'm sensing they will do well in Laois / Offaly and possibly Tipp, I'm based in Laois Offaly and most people I talk to are saying the SD's have and are performing well. I could be wrong but do think they will gain quite a lot of seats next time round, particularly from Labour who are just Toast at this stage.
Here is the list.

Pick one of them and I will explain what they did. None of it is fiction but I think you know that. 😉
I'll give you one as a taster.
John Perry (FG)
On 10 March 2011, he was appointed by the Fine Gael–Labour government as Minister of State at the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation with special responsibility for Small Business.
In July 2012, he was the subject of some controversy over his claims for mileage expenses for official duties including a claim for 4,417 km of mileage in a month during which he only had two official appointments and another monthly mileage claim which averaged 344 km per day for every day he was in Ireland. In that latter month he was abroad for 9 days.
John Perry claimed the most of all government ministers in mileage allowances in 2011. The Sligo-North Leitrim TD claimed €31,866 in mileage allowance.
On 22 July 2013, Perry and his wife consented to a judgment of €2.47m against them at the Commercial Court over unpaid loans to Danske Bank. In September 2013, Perry confirmed that he had reached an agreement with Danske Bank, in relation to his outstanding loans. In March 2013, it was reported that Perry hired his wife, Marie, as a parliamentary assistant, contrary to government statements on appointments.
you wouldn’t know what turf was if it hit you in the forehead.
Where are you parroting that from?
