I’m going to Munich for a few days the end of next week. I’ll visit some bakeries and report back…..
Do lol. And watch out for the pedestrian crossings. The urge to break from the crowd and to hurtle across the road when there was no traffic was overwhelming. But the stares if you do quickly marks out as someone from out of town
So not only are you an expert on Russia but also Germany. I get it.
But yeah my ex German girlfriend must have also have been wrong
I've already posted this about Germans being atrocious queuers. And even as if you claimn if the kids aren't doing it. The older generations haven't vanished you know.
But hey think what you like.
Here's another
That's the line that will be thrown out but there are several other key reasons why the EU will say no longer term.
1. The Ukrainians are strongly nationalist, they like most of Eastern Europe do not buy in to the self flaggelation narcissism of Western Europe, to the chargin of many in Europe and to the cost of Russian soldiers.
2. It's too big, it will massively shift the centre of the EU to Eastern Europe. Eastern Europe is really coming to the fore now and they are skeptical of many European countries intentions, up to now viewing countries like Germany and Austria as leaning towards hostile forces. There will be long term tensions in the EU after this and talk of solidarity and colleagues will be called out as the corporate bolloxspeak it is.
3. Russia has a lot of powerful friends and assets built up over the years. They'll be told stop it
4. More prosaically, the EU, especially the Eurozone have not had good years since 2008 economically, it's been on the magic money tree to ensure bare growth. The EU just can't afford it.
5. It cements the border of the Eu as a hard border where bullets fly.
One of them that would say mass if they thought they would get away with it
And lets hopes its three strikes and your out for Le Penne. Hope those Russian loans just got harder to pay back.
Germans and Austrians, pretty much of the one disposition despite the Austrians protestations to the contrary. Deal with the Austrians alot and they're every bit as self serving as the Germans. They also think they're infallible. Nothing is ever their fault.
Kinda telling that this thread is on about the bakery shopping etiquette for a good few posts.
It will be hard to maintain attention as is and eventually that will play to Russian advantage.
Russian military control over their domestic internet is getting stronger. Russia's telecom provider now will be part of it's overall Defense administration:

No the reason is because Romania is an extremely poor country.
russian build up in Kherson tonight
In fairness though , Romania and Bulgaria are jaw dropping corrupt.
Organized crime as a societal core.
That and Romania thought that its indigenous aerospace industry, with some help from Israel, would be able to upgrade the MiG-21 to a usable standard. To be fair, the LanceR upgrade that Romaero designed in cooperation with Elbit is impressive, integrating western missiles into the aircraft, introducing a modern HUD and displays, massively upgrading the radar and allowing the use of guided air-to-ground ammunition and ECM pods. However, no amount of work can overcome the age of the airframes in question.
They are but claiming they won't upgrade their jets because of corruption... They are very poor. Corruption isn't the origin of the unwillingness to upgrade old jets
And?
You know well enough that pretty much any long-running discussion will develop little side discussions quite regularly. A few people discussing behaviour in a German bakery or questioning the veracity of the claim about behaviour in said bakery doesn't really prove that attention to Ukraine is waning so much as that this thread is following the usual patterns.
Have a look at the post count for this thread vs others on the first page of the CA forum and you'll see that a lot of attention if lying with the situation in Ukraine.
Nah not so much. The original point was German psyche and and Germany's failure to ditch Russian gas and oil. There were some naysayers to the observations made
If Germany holds out against EU direction regarding a ban on Russian Poland gas that will certainly play to Russian advantage imo
I don't think people realise just how expensive modern weapons are, especially fighter jets. Australia recently purchased 100 f-35 jets for $16bn, to put that in perspective, the entire annual Romanian defence budget is $6bn.
As I say, I live here, so I tend to have a more nuanced view of Germany than "they're all selfish b*stards who jump queues and are in Putin's pocket". But by all means keep up the profound insights.
As for Russia - no more or less an expert than you, I suspect.
Several Ukrainian social media accounts are reporting that Russia may be preparing for a push towards Kryvyy Rih, which is supposed to start in the next few days. A massing of troops in Kherson would make sense in that regard as that city is the only major Russian foothold on the western bank of the Dnieper. Kryvyy Rih is Zelensky's home town, as well as sitting on a major road and railroad connection from the southwest of the country to Dnipro. Occupying the town would put a number of Ukrainian supply lines into the Donbas at risk.
However, Ukrainian forces are also pushing towards Kherson from Mykolayiv and are apparently within artillery range of the city itself at this point, meaning that Russia could simply be preparing for a defence of the city. Either way, they're creating a target-rich environment in and around Kherson.
Bosh and made in China funny...this part??? Care to elaborate???
That was a program on RTE 2 I think at 18.30pm yesterday called WW2 Frontlines. I actually turned it off I was so sick of what the Russian did and the pictures.
& explosions in Kherson
Give it rest rogber. Nuanced my rear end. No one, no where said "theyre all selfish b*stards" or any other bs.
But do continue to claim that you know better than every other poster here or whatever 🙄
Mariupol steelworks plant size vs cities around the world
Incredible work
Resilience personified.
Slava Ukraini!
