Do Boeing and Airbus only supply parts for specific airframes? If not then I'd imagine China and India would be happy to take a middleman's cut.
What is a satisfactory outcome for Ukraine here, like in a dream, get everything you want kind of outcome?
Crimea, Donbas, Luhansk sure but they have suffered a lot, I think perhaps a few Russian provinces, belarus too?
I wonder with full western support and about 20 years if this is achievable, never again would Russia threaten anybody.
And Europe too, perhaps some oil fields that the Nazis tried so hard to reach in WW2. I believe they made some threats about Alaska, might be best to just annex Vladivostok. And let's not forget our poor japanese friends, there are a few Pacific islands I'm sure they'd finally like settled.
Anyone else want a piece?
An Irish st Patricksburg?
South Park had a recent episode where they framed the current situation with 80s style Cold War movies 😂
"Russians were so confident in the capture of Kiev that they even booked places in the capital's restaurants, said Alexei Arestovich.
He also revealed other plans of Putin's orcs - "patrols" near the Rada and the Cabinet, as well as the landing of helicopters in the capital Pechersk.
"The trick is what - they thought so seriously, really planned. It shows the depth of their separation from reality," says Arestovich."
I think both food and all pharmaceuticals should be embargoed. Let them go back to a Soviet era cold war diet.
"Joe Biden gave Ukraine another $1.3 billion.
"We have the ability to do this for a long time." - Biden"
anyone else think the Russians are bluffing? I dont think they have the army/navy left to over run the south
You are very informative and I'd go along with what you said. That said I'd say it would be easy enough to replace the engine with electronics.
That engine say a two stroke would probably have a flywheel generating electricity for the flight. That's heavy plus fuel.
Great idea all the same it they take out any enemy.
They also had plans for a victory parade through Kyiv (the Ukrainians discovered documentation about it).
The way it's going they might be lucky to even have a victory parade thru Moscow
I know the idea of china supplying Airbus/Boeing parts was floated, but shot down by Beijing for fear of being hit with secondary sanctions.
The Moskva started a trend - glug, glug.
China lies as much as Russia.

Facebook is a sesspool. People who post there don't understand that when the product (Facebook) is free, they, the posters, are the product.
I wholeheartedly condone such violence and hope there is lots more.
So you assume China is supplying Russia with genuine Airbus/Boeing parts?
Parts which are highly regulated and recorded and expensive, which I would take a guess that standard policy would be for Boeing/Airbus to ship out a part and expect the damaged/defective part to be returned (for Boeing/Airbus to refurbish) All these parts have serial numbers and well documented.
It just takes one check to realise the replacement part is for a sanctioned airline's plane.
Then overnight Boeing and Airbus stop all parts to China.
Given that Aeroflot's international operations are all but suspended, there must be spare aircraft to divert to domestic use as other aircraft go unserviceable. Also, generally cannibalising aircraft for spares can keep a diminished and diminishing fleet going for a while. Of course it won't give the same excellent level of safety as you get in the West. So maybe aviation safety will revert to Soviet levels, just like the rest of life in the Gangster State.
You can cannibalizing parts, but most planes only have 2 engines, 1 APU etc... so you get diminishing returns on each cannibalization. Not to mention just the end of life on parts. Replacing a near new part that was defective/damaged with a 5 year old working one, may not give much more in terms of keeping a plane flying.
It should be pretty obvious from the question I originally posed, that I haven't assumed any such thing.
If anyone was in any doubt that Russia/Putin wants to re-establish the USSR
Moldova has expressed “deep concern” and summoned the Russian ambassador following comments by a Russian military commander who said Moscow’s new aim was to seize control of southern Ukraine, which would also give it access to Transnistria, a pro-Russian breakaway region of Moldova.
You don't always have to take land to control a country, just isolate them from the rest of the world or just keep creeping into their territory
It's rhetoric like this that make me think it's not only Putin calling for the restoration of the USSR but lots of higher ups in his cabinet
Whilst many say get rid of Putin and end all this crap it doesn't solve the problem of those who have this idealistic view of Russia
Some Russians having their interpretation of Хрустальная ночь, lol
Russian soldier blogs his «tour» in Ukraine
As many videos and photographs as possible should be taken. I assume that all parades are in public and therefor the media can give the public a ‘ flavour ‘ of the event. - the same as the media does with any other public event eg St Patericks Day, people going to, coming from and at matches. I might even see my local butcher at it
Not having a good day of it in kherson.
Stuff like this knocks the absolute sails out of any advances the Russians are trying to make.
The US parts suppliers would get very suspicious if they found , year on year, a significant increase in orders?
Some poster opinioned that Ru could go back to manufacturing its own planes again as it has the technical expertise. But was it not the case that a lot of Aeroflot planes were crashing during the 60s and 70s - based on the crashes that were reported. The feeling at the time was that there was a lot of crashes that were not reported. Will these be the same engineers that will be used to start production again ?
Whatever eejits show up should be sent packing with a one way ticket to Russia. Might open their eyes to reality.
Sure those same dopes were bigging up that flop trucker protest on Facebook when in reality 12 showed up in one spot and no one in the other. Theres plenty of bots and multi-account people trying to make themselves relevant.
the Sukhoi Superjet is a recent testament to how well Russian made jets are...
Subhuman. Was hoping video would end with him dead.
