Can you quote me? Your imagination doesn't count as fact.
I am stating that inviting them over and then putting them in tents or stadiums because we can't find anywhere else will be embarrassing for the country.
So now you know.
Did you not see the RTE expose on this? It was mainly FF and FG councillors but SF are not so innocent either. Aengus Ó Snodaigh and his ink cartridges springs to mind.
And Daragh Murphy and his expenses spring to my mind. They are all at it and every single one of them should be exposed and kicked out of their jobs for it. It should be acceptable at any level in any party.
Nothing beats paying for the Christmas card you get from the politician you never voted for.
Fine Gael I'd say. Now respond to the post.
She's now rethinking taking a Refugee because she doesn't want the poor dear to be sitting around all day alone. "There's nowhere to even walk to." - What?
I hope we don't have to force her to take in a refugee. 🙄
Ireland will not cap the number of refugees it accepts even as the Government admits it is facing a struggle to house arriving Ukrainians, Minister for Justice Helen McEntee has said.
She indicated the Government will avoid, if possible, forcing people or businesses to give up property or open their homes to Ukrainian refugees.
Would love to see them try to force somebody to take in a Refugee.
Here we go the deflectors attempting to turn perfectly valid points about the appalling incompetence of this governments handling of the influx of Ukranian refugees (They invited) , knowing as they clearly did there was no infrastructure, no accommodation and worse of all no coherent plan, into wild assumptions these valid points raised are somehow anti refugee.
Makes my blood boil. How anyone looking at what's going on and worse, what's to come, objectively and still believe this government actually know's what they are doing, is dillusional.
It's an Absolute and disgraceful farce.
And before the usual motley crew go on the defensive, I welcome Refugees and have volunteered not just at Direct provision centres but homeless shelters, so don't try a lecture me on what is going on, it's a Train wreck plain and embarrassingly simple.
More back flips, u turns, re thinks and lessons being learned from Helen 🙄
”Makes my blood boil” 🤣🤣
Yeah right.
Nobody needs to go on defensive, tomorrow something else will be in the press and cue over reaction to that. It’s daily now
Have you ever actually done anything to change what is going on? Apart from bitch and moan on a forum?
Like have you offered to help any of the Ukraine people? Or help in any shape?
No need to answer, I already know
i just wonder what tomorrow will bring, turf? Orange order? Who know the topic are so diverse but always the same reaction 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Only thing embarrassing is this thread and the carry on
The alternative is death…how do you not understand?
you would prefer to see people die….cop on to yourself for once
The embarrassing thing is people from Ukraine might log onto boards and see the carry on and think this is what the people of ireland are like….
The alternative is being organised.
You are getting outraged by things you made up. Thats embarrassing.
Plain as day reading the last few pages that once again a couple of posters have projected stuff that hasn't been said and went on a rant about it.
Its terrible behaviour.
"i just wonder what tomorrow will bring, turf? Orange order? Who know the topic are so diverse"
😂🤣
Poster seems not to be aware that he's posting in Government thread, where the topics are Government issues and how they are handled. In the case of these nincompoops, it is almost assured that they will be handled incompetently.
Eamon Ryan - 'We will ban the Turf cutting' ..... 'We will not ban the Turf cutting for everyone, many will still be able to cut turf' ..... 'Ok, we will ban the turf cutting for some, but not allow anyone to sell it' ..... 'We won't ban the turf cutting'
Helen McEntee - 'I will take a refugee.' ..... 'ehm.. I may not take a Refugee, as they would have nothing to do here..' ..... 'We will try to avoid, if possible, forcing people to take Refugees'...
Micheal Martin - 'Lessons have been learned'.... 'Lessons will be learned'... 'Lessons need to be learned'
Leo Varadkar - 'I better get to writing my next speech' .. 'It was the best of times, it was the worst of times'... 'I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?' ... 'Luke, I am your Father'....
Absolute biggest bunch of pure and utter morons this island has ever had the misfortune to see running it, yet wum poster blames the critics... 🤣
As Michael Martin is an ex teacher he should know all about lessons by now.
So with her U-Turn, McEntee has effectively killed a Ukrainian?
Newstalk did a segment on the trolley crisis in Limerick Regional hospital. It sounded terrible.
University Hospital Limerick: Patients describe overcrowded conditions | Newstalk
A record number of patients are waiting on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick, according to the INMO.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) is calling for an emergency plan activated for the facility.
The union says 126 patients are on trolleys there - the highest number in any Irish hospital since 2006.
.....
The journalist spent the last 2 days interviewing staff and patients. He said the older nurses could not wait to retire and the young nurses were planning to leave. UHL has been a disaster for 10-20 years and it seems to be getting worse.
Probably could mirror alot of hospitals in this country at the moment.
This country is seriously broken down.
But but but we have the highest nurse to bed ratio in the world according to some.
And nurses are dossiers and just want extra staff to make their lives even easier.
The report from UHL sounded traumatic for patients and nurses alike. I have no doubt young nurses will leave the system especially A&E.
More grim reporting on the UHL situation.
I heard some of the interview. That lady that spent 16 hours on a chair, did she go to the hospital herself or did her GP refer her? Seeing as she was well enough to go home once she’d seen a doctor, could her GP not have done the blood tests? She’d probably have had the results just as quickly!
Yes Mary, the 126 people on trolleys or chairs are to blame. For the past 20 years, they are all to blame. And the nurses.
126 patients on trolleys in UHL – new record for overcrowding in Irish hospitals (inmo.ie)
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation has called for an emergency plan to be activated for University Hospital Limerick. This comes as 126 patients are on trolleys in the hospital, the highest number of patient overcrowding in any Irish hospital since the INMO began its TrolleyWatch in 2006.
“The INMO has been sounding the alarm on issues within UHL for years. We need to see the emergency plan activated for the hospital this morning and a public announcement of same.
“Hospital management need to urgently stop admitting patients for elective care as there are no beds within the hospital. The system is completely congested.
“The situation in UHL has been allowed to fester for far too long. We need to see real, meaningful short, medium, and long-term action. Patients, nurses, midwives, and the wider hospital community deserve so much better.”
So, did she go to her GP first or straight to A & E? Having spent time in A&E numerous times over the past 10 years, I saw first hand how people abused it. “When did you fall?” “A week ago last Tuesday” is one question that comes to mind. Numerous coughs, colds, sore throat’s etc that a pharmacist could deal with. The number of actual accidents and/or emergencies was very small and thankfully triaged properly made prioritised. This leading to the non emergency ones being left waiting.
Hiw many if that 126 were admitted to hospital?
McEntee has no reason not to take in any Ukrainians (or any other Refugees fore that matter)
Where this Government has their priorities is really starting to become very annoying. Why wasn't public transport increased in rural areas long ago? And why are these Ukrainians getting such an unprecedented priority?
A lot of internal back slapping going on I see. Wait till the insurance quotes come in 😏 curious it's just for cars only and temporary re driving licences, also wondered if Ukrainians exchange their licenses for an Irish one, how difficult will it be for them to revert back to a Ukrainian license 🤔 assuming of course they return to Ukraine.
Wait for it, that's not all
I wondered what the 59,247 household's that were on waiting lists last year will make of this.
