The Ukraine war has seen Russia losing a significant number of aircraft, tanks and armored vehicles. The biggest shock, though, was the revelation that Moscow’s most advanced non-stealth fighter plane, Su-35, had been shot down by Ukrainian forces.
.....
Now, as scientists in the United States and the United Kingdom investigate the remnants of a fighter jet, experts believe it might make a “huge difference” in how the West conducts air-to-air warfare with both Russia and China, inflicting a severe blow to Russia’s military and industrial complex.
It will be interesting what intel they can extract from the wreckage.
Wow, her son's grandad was a Dutch naval colonel. Mad.
"Key hub of Russia's espionage and intelligence networks in Europe". Any supporting evidence for that claim?
How exactly do you think the Russian embassy in Dublin is actively assisting in the Ukraine invasion? Operatives placing GPS trackers on the countless arms shipments from Ireland? Oh wait; there aren't any. Injecting toxins into humanitarian supplies maybe? Stealing batteries from defibrillators?
That's making the big assumption that Russian separatists in the Donbas don't want to be "Russian" and have changed their minds. For all we know the separatists there want the Russians in the disputed areas. The Russian forces are also more likely to act quite differently to those welcoming them in, the way it seems they expected in wider Ukraine(and were sorely mistaken). In the North of Ireland Troubles, which side were British soldiers and authorities more prone to target? This is probably going to become more concentrated as Ukrainian nationalists in the Donbas have understandably far more reasons to flee the Russian invaders than the separatists.
It can't be denied that we're getting mostly one side in this and the other Russian side can't be trusted, so we don't know and won't know for a while.
Wow that really does expose very succinctly the German Chancellor for the utter disgrace that he is to put it mildly.
The Nigel Farage fanclub thread is elsewhere
Fair point but a different story when it comes to direct German involvement in military adventures
They are simply not to be trusted. They've been trying to conquer Europe for centuries. It didn't just stop because of WW2. They've been doing it via the EU over the last few decades. It is clear that they are happy to divy up Europe influence with Russia. You get the east, we get the centre and south.
I just find it remarkable that people think Germany are to be a trustworthy country. One of the greatest marketing campaigns ever seen.
They should be frozen out of the EU until a proper investigation goes into Schroeder and Russia/Gazprom. Until they have proven they have gotten their **** together, found their conspirators, they can't come back.
Western freedom of speech is not enabled by allowing foreign hostile states that oppose free speech, from having a disproportionate volume of speech that is weaponised.
Which again is a mirror of what putin's Russia is trying to do themselves by blocking access to facebook, twitter, instagram(youtube will likely be next. I'm surprised it's still open), because of what they see as a disproportionate volume of Western information that's weaponised against them. China has done similar and for similar reasons with their Great Firewall of China.
And your volume argument has little weight. Even allowing for state sponsored troll farms, or crazy notion here, people who simply quite believe their narrative and they exist and don't need to be lazily dismissed as putinbots either, the volume on the internet is overwhelmingly Western in nature. The vast majority of social media platforms are Western and most are American, even Telegram which was developed by a pair of Russians who started the Russian VK* network moved to the West because the founders didn't want putin's hands on it. The Russians themselves see "The Internet" as being overwhelmingly Western in nature, otherwise they'd not seek to silence it. If these troll farms worked as well as some seem to believe and there was such a disparity in volume that you believe why would they bother?
*VK is almost entirely Russian language. Interestingly it was popular in Ukraine as well until the Ukrainian government banned it and other Russian language social media outlets a few years ago.
Vladimir Putin’s daughter Maria ‘stopped from leaving Russia over fears she wouldn’t return’
Scientist Dr Maria Vorontsova wanted to fly to a “friendly” country for a tropical beach vacation to mark her 37th birthday next week, it is claimed.
I was wondering how much a pediatrician would like daddy slaughtering and maiming kids en mass.
At the very beginning of the war I saw one of them swearing he would never speak Russian again.
The US are supplying parts for this Ukrainian Mig*29 (image attached). Bit of work needed admittedly...
I don't think anyone should be popping the champagne corks over this. It's good that Ukraine are able to put some of their previously out of service combat aircraft back into operation, but it doesn't change much. No matter what way you split it, 40 year Soviet aircraft simply aren't going to cut it in this conflict, the capability of the Russian planes is just far too great. I think there may even be an argument that putting these types of planes back into action is simply wasting Ukrainian pilots.
I think a more effective use of military aid would be to provide more air defence systems. I am not sure there's any evidence that Ukraine are being effective in air-to-air combat, but we do know that they are having some success taking Russian aircraft out from the ground. Greece and Bulgaria both possess S300 systems, seems clear to me that this sort of thing would provide a greater bang for buck than restoring obsolete Soviet fighter planes.
Totally agree with that.
Yes, but how many were out of action because there were short of essential parts??? When you look at the amount of vehicles the Russians lost due to breakdowns and running out of fuel etc. It had a massive positive effect on outcomes for the Ukrainians .
And a bad case of acute lead poisoning.
There was some mess at the scene, so we cannot factor out explosive diarrhoea.
Germans are very compromised at this point. Fuckin hungry bastards.
Think it might have been blood pressure issues - Hypotension specifically
Anyone know what killed him? Heart problem? Maybe a long illness such as cancer?
Those unclear circumstances looks like 7.62x39 if you ask me
They mainly gave up nukes not ballistic missiles which is what Russia is launching to ukraine
Meteorite shower .
What a scumbag. Time to take down that government and consign him to the dustbin. Its beyond obvious he's beholden to the Russians either through payments or Kompromat. I doubt anything will happen as per usual though. The EU is going down the shítter at a rate of knots. Putin is losing on one front and the Germans and French have him winning on another. You couldn't make it up.
I thought he was just preparing some bullet points for his next blog post...
I'll get my coat...
Yes, the ones that didn't exit are the unclear ones that killed him.
A current complaint from Ukraine is that a lot of the missiles currently raining down and killing them them are the exact same ones they were conned by the Orcs, the Uk and US into handing back.
Unclear cicumstances? Hahahahahahaha... I count about 14 clear circumstances making an exit from the passenger side of the car there.
