This just says it all about the Germans. Very disappointing.
But the Dutch no issues. Because the hate the Orc's.
You seem to be talking Russian.
They really don't ,
I'm half imagining them asking for funds to help build a Wall in the east of the country to deter foreign invaders
Germany just doesnt want to be a good guy.
So, hold Kherson and take as much of the East as they can
Of course a perpetual or frozen conflict would suit Putin's totalitarian Russia very well. Speculating here, but if it goes down that road I suspect Russia will become the new North Korea over the years, an economic vassal of China.
Seems the Germans have really tried to slap the Ukrainians in the face , Zelenskyy has been trying to buy a number of German armoured vehicles for last 2 months , apparently the Germans are currently trying to sell the vehicles to the Greek military instead
I agree about the absolute nonsense in Russian TV, but at least Russians, those who want it, have access to other news sources.
Anyhow, history will be the final judge of just how similar or different the Putin regime is to predecessors. I think we can at least agree that it's utterly toxic and the world would be much better without it
Throughout history the Russian response to any tactical problem has been either cannonade the hell out of it or keep throwing men at it until it goes away.
There's a sad irony in the last Mariopol holdouts making their last stand in a large factory complex, given the use of factories as fortresses in Stalingrad: the Tractor Factory, the Barrikady Gun Factory, and the the Red October Factory etc. Now it's the Russians who have to do the assaulting. I hope the defenders made it just as painful for the attackers as their historical counterparts did.
I still find it incredible that Nato or US doesn't help with high altitude air strikes, US has jets capable of super sonic speeds, that can fire missiles from 50,000 feet.
According to twitter it is only hours old.
I see The Hill is reporting a European official saying Mariupol to fall to the Russians soon.
Cold response excersises have been held since 2006 in Norway and many others before that since NATO was founded,
NATO artic warfare training centre is based in North of Norway,so its quite obvious excersises would be held there from all NATO members and non NATO as well.
Putin is just desperate for excuses to blame everyone but himself for painting himself in a corner
Give Putin the rope. That shouldn't damage his face. And everybody's happy.
No doubt he's feeling the pinch but I hope he doesn't find himself falling out of a high storey window.

Sadly there's little left of the city to hold and Russia will make sure that who is left won't be Ukrainian nationalists. Many of whom will have already fled from contested areas in the Donbas as a whole. The fighting in the east is to the Russian advantage. Close to their supply lines and border, higher concentration of Russian separatists and more open land that lends itself to tank warfare and the sheer numbers that Russia can field. Human wave and not giving a fúck about the humans in it is and always has been Russia's military "tactics".
Storming the steelworks by the latest news. Last role of the dice for the current resistance in Mariupol. But if Russia thinks they'll hold the city. They will be in for some shock.
Fcuk Putin, Fcuk Russian the army.
Indeed, I wouldn't read too much into supposed Russian 'successes' in this phase of the war. We saw in the first two or three days of the invasion that everything seemed to be going swimmingly well for the Russians and making advances everywhere, when in fact they were already in trouble and with their supply lines severely stretched.
Its early days in the campaign. I suspect the authorities asked people to evacuate because their strategy is to let the Russian advance and stretch their lines and to then to "get at them". Its been obvious for the last couple of weeks that the Russians would be pivoting this way once it was clear Kyiv was unachievable. That's given the Ukrainians decent prep time and tbh I assume they have been planning for an eventuality like this since 2014.
Having seen the abilities of the Ukrainian forces since the start of this war by Russia I expect them to bleed the Russians committed heavily. The west needs to do its bit by banning Russian exports of Oil and Gas and by ensuring the Ukrainians are given the tools to win the battles and ultimately this war. I believe the Ukrainians will win this war but they are paying a heavy price for it.
I still believe a no fly zone should have been impliemented but thats not going to happen
Or let them breakthrough, then isolate and surround them.
Ukrainian MP saying on Drivetime at the moment that even if Putin declares "victory" on May 9th, Ukraine will simply ignore him and carry on fighting.
Wasn't there a video shared yesterday of people in that bunker?
Is the explosion shown a recent event and not old footage?
Ukrainian forces could be drawing them out, stretching their lines. This is a large Russian force which has learnt hard lessons, I wouldn't expect them to make the same mistakes, but we will see. Again, I think most analysts seem to expect Russian gains in the East. The main question being if they can hold those gains
They're trying hard to win a battle. Hopefully they will run out of steam. If UA can keep up the present kill rate there will be a lot of dead/injured soldiers going back to Russia.
Like I said, they'll throw everything at it for a bit. Get as far as they can, scorch the earth a bit and declare victory likely for 9th May. Where they get further, great, burn it all down and retreat to where they want.
Ahh ****.
Could be a large fuel-air bomb. Should be noted, there are still many civilians and children sheltering underground in Mariupol.
Not good news, but also not unexpected
