She was asked in the context of this case in a newstalk interview. Just like Gript published an article, in the context of this case.
When was she asked this?

Don't see where she commented on any case before the courts in that interview.
Some hypocrisy in this country!
Anyone saying "not all men" is scum and part of the problem yet......"not all muslims" is supported.
When are people going to wake up and call this bs out?!
And I saw another anti lgbt/anti muslim hate gathering in Dublin on twitter....funnily enough out of allll the people that where there holding LGBT flags, only 2 muslims could be seen and of course the usual Imam, the famous one that's on TV all the time that's seemingly a spokesperson for ALL muslims in Ireland....purely because he's got liberal views...
Did you listen to the interview?
When was the interview, though? You said you heard it. When was it?
EDIT: Never mind, I just found it. The interview was conducted on Wednesday, so therefore any remarks made were not in breach of sub judice.
You do know what sub judice means, don't you?
I honestly don't see much change in that... the trans threads are a perfect example of it.. as are the number of times I've been accused of Islamophobia for statements made, even when they were backed up logically, or with linked evidence. I could point you to a number of banned posters on this thread who would probably say the same.
In any case, it is what it is. Funny expression. Never used to use it, but since I came home, it's one that I use a lot now.
We can all use google, my friend. As I did when it was posted first a few pages back.
I will look into the timeline.
Do you happen to know what common courtesy and good manners are?
Well you've been trying to push these remarks made by Mary McAleese as being in breach of sub judice, when they weren't.
You don't need to look into the timeline. Newstalk had the quotes up on Wednesday. Nobody was before the courts in relation to this case by then.
In the case of Gript, the 'imported' remarks were made AFTER someone appeared in court, which they have even acknowledged themselves.
I have made no claim that anyone made remarks that infringed on the case before the courts.
Ah here.
You asked me what was legally problematic, then you followed up with asking me if I had any issue with Mary McAleese's remarks, because you only discovered now that they were actually made on Wednesday and not today.
Don't start pretending otherwise and stop wasting both of our time.
Out of curiosity, seeing as you have deemed the Gript article to be in breach of the law, such that you cannot even discuss the content you are nonetheless condemning, have you reported the crime?
It's not a crime and you know it isn't.
However, solicitors can use articles like that and put it in front of a judge, claiming their client can't have the right to a fair trial and, if a judge agrees, then it collapses.
You're wasting my time now. It's clear you haven't the first clue what you're talking about.
Anyone who is pro-justice or pro-law and order would be condemning this, but instead you're nit-picking my posts because the content of Gript's article is something you agree with.
There's alot of uproar over the UKs plan to send migrants to Rwanda.
The context is, migrants that are trying to gain entry to the country illegally. I think if the war in Ukraine has shown is that an genuine asylum seekers will go to the nearest safe space. In some instances that was the east of their own country. But as the figures show, the overwhelming majority is next door neighbouring countries, and mainly women and children. Not 20 year old young men, traversing oarts of north africa and all of continental Europe to gain entry to the country of their choice for economic reasons.
Its a very strange viewpoint on the world when a vigil to commemorate the murder of 2 men and to stand opposed to hate where a muslim cleric spoke specifically against hate and intolerance can be described as an anti lgbt/anti muslim hate gathering. Yeah. The Pope isnt Catholic, water isnt wet and humans dont exist.
Haven't you heard of sub judice contempt (where a person publishes prejudicial material about a pending court case)?
I assure you, it exists and it is punishable, although I admit, I am not claiming to be the expert.
Is this really not an open and shut case in your opinion?
migrant - someone who moved to a different place for work or new life.new
refugee - person forced to leave their country because of war, disaster, conflict or persecution.
asylum seeker - person who leaves their homeland seeking protection, if they do, they are a refugee.
Illegal immigrant- a person who has entered it lived in a different country illegally.
It's a publicity stunt.. I doubt it will actually happen. It's being done to raise awareness of these issues and get people talking.

You're mixing AS with refugee.. They're different things. While Ukrainians might apply for Asylum at a later stage, right now they're refugees, not AS. Same with the M.Eastern men who poured into Europe. Refugees, not AS.
Mary was a huge supporter of catholic religion until it inconvenianced her now she is their biggest critic. She is one of irelands biggest liberals these day s !
Again this one would have presented herself as 'right wing' or standing for traditional values to fool the Fianna Fail vote when she got herself into public office. But eventually the mask slips.
She's still quite a strongly devout Catholic. Shes not disagreeing with them from an atheistic viewpoint at all. I would describe her more as a liberationist Catholic than a liberal.
The "mask" was never there. 😅Mary supported David Norris in the 1970s in his legal cases to decriminalise gay male sex.
Maggie Thatcher will never be dead as long as you are here Bubbly.
You don't believe that the hospitality sector are crying out for people?
Perhaps you need to read the news more.
What does Margaret Thatcher have to do with it?
I suspect that your only concern is that there is a shortage of minimum wage labour.
There is more to life than your unfettered free market.
Hilarious!
I have been called a leftie and SJW on this thread, now I'm Margaret Thatcher😂😂
Maggie Thatcher and her generation would have absolutely nothing to do with open borders or what is going on in the Channel these days.
Nothing. Nor would the real left actually. Men like Tony Benn. Nothing to do with it.
Looks like Sweden are enjoying another day of riots over someone burning a Quran.
A lot of European countries are going to end up having independent breakaway Islamic states form within them as more immigration comes from the Islamic world.
