A higher proportion of that now 65 would have refitted now too and containing a lot more weary soldiers. Can't wait for the next outmanoeuvre they pull.
On the PR side, I think the Russians should have put out that the Moskva bravely shielded Russia from attack by Ukraine by throwing itself in front of a Ukrainian missile. Sinking in a "storm" with 10 knot winds blowing is a little lame.

Remember the Russian submarine, the Kursk, which was lost with all hands sometime in Vlad's early years at the top? He didn't care enough to travel to the area to meet rescuers or anyone else: he stayed on holidays. I always had him marked down as a cold-blodded sh*t after that.
No surprise then about the lack of any detail about the state of the crew of the Moskva.

I'm thinking that if the ship sustained enough damage to cause it to sink (i.e. explosions and fire on board), then large numbers of Russian sailors must have been killed in the immediate aftermath.
We all know though that the regime regards human life as worthless, even Russian lives.
Sinking the Moskva is a massive propaganda victory for Ukraine. The Russian military effort overall has been a debacle.
This whole disaster from start to finish stems from that same Russian (deluded) ego trait

I read that a Turkish ship rescued 51 of them. As for the rest of the 450 or so I don't know.
Honestly, I doubt it. Yes, the loss of Moskva is a massive PR disaster for Russia. But it will not have the massive impact that Chernobyl had. It is still just one ship, as important as it may have been for the Russian Navy. It"s the knock-on effects that might be more problematic. If Moskva really provided an air defence umbrella for Russian forces in the South of Ukraine, then their positions in Kherson and possibly up to Mariupol just became a whole lot more precarious.
You may be thinking of the old Moskva class helicopter carrier, which was a huge ship and had some nuclear weapons. The ship that sunk was a Slava class missile cruiser, designed to attack US carrier groups. The carrier Moskva was scrapped in the 90's.
Edit: edited "smaller vessel" out, Slavas are about 2 metres shorter so not exactly small.
The way the Russian state media barely even mentions anything about the crew in any of their statements is shocking btw. They honestly don't give a toss about human life, it means nothing to them. You would think the fate of the crew members would be far more important than that of the ship.
It will be interesting to see if they give a figure on the causilties on board ,it normal sails with just under 500 crew ,a magazine explosion would be catastrophic on a ship full of cruise missiles ,the USS Cole lost 17 sailors in an IED attack in Yemen ,you would have to look back to the Falklands to compare a loss of a ship during combat if I remember correctly
If we believe a Lithuanian source, then possibly only 54 were rescued. Let's see if we hear anything official from the Russians, even they don't seem to be trying to hide (any more) that the ship is lost.
You'd have to wonder at this point was it even sailing fully crewed. I wouldn't put it past the Russians to have had the sailors on the front lines in the occupied territory. Ship maybe operating with the minimum required to do the basics.

Remember the Kursk , they gave zero **** then ,beslan siege was another one people mean nothing to the various Russians regimes over the last 100 years, people come on and use ww2 as an excuse to why the Russians act the way they do ,look what happened to them during WW2 they had it bad ,so did the whole of Europe at the time , more Russians died at the hands of their own leaders than from foreign invaders
I think we're lost Sergei. There's no signs to Moscow anywhere down here.
