Reminds me of the Soviets flying the helicopters so high to keep out of rocket range in Afghanistan that the Soviet soldiers jokingly referred to them as 'Cosmonauts'
Even safer back in their home port! 😉
US officals have said many of the ships that were assisting the cruiser have moved 80 nautical miles from the coast..
Because everyone knows ammo becomes more volatile when you are closer to the coast ....... Prone to spontaneous combustion.
Much safer out at sea
Speaking of piling up bodies:
Ukrainians are annoyed that the horde won't take back 1,500 bodies that are clogging up their mortuary freeezers.
Meanwhile, in St Petersburgh, a lucky few limbless orcs manage to make it to a holding pattern of stacked ambulances waiting their turn to disgorge their critical condition cargos.
"In St. Petersburg hospitals brought more than a hundred seriously wounded in Ukraine orcs
According to Ukrainian intelligence, about a hundred invaders in these vehicles – with severed limbs"
It would finally force Germany into picking sides at least. And they can't choose Russia.
Cloaking mechanism was activated. Automatic response to damage on all Klingon ships
Not necessarily. Whilst ammunition cooking off is hardly unusual even in this day and age, there's a decent chance that a lot of the explosive energy would vent out through the tops of the vertical launch tubes of any missile magazine that was hit. The secondary explosions would still cripple the ship but given that the Moskva doesn't have the massive ammunition hoists and below-decks magazines that were a feature of most classical battleships or battlecruisers, the chance that Moskva would just cease to be as it happened to HMS Hood or a number of battlecruisers at Jutland is pretty remote. She'd definitely be out of the fight for good though, whether afloat or not.
I believe the main significance to this story and the images is that building had managed to survive two previous major wars, and then the orc horde arrived.
Actually given the size of the warheads on the Neptunes they wouldn't sink a ship that size easily.
The unknown factor is cooking off the munitions on the ship, take the P-1000 Vulkan Anti-Ship missiles that are mounted 4 on either side in pairs. Those missiles have a 1000kg warhead. If they went off the ship would be in bits. It has 60 large s300 Anti-Aircraft missiles.
Basically this ship has a **** load of things that go boom on it. If either of the Ukrainian missiles managed to get any of those to go off that ship is now in pieces.
Old story, but this article about North Korea using a Russian GPS jamming system in 2012 claims that it had a radius of 100km
Thanks for that.
I reckon the new thread chorus is
The group of the SSO of Ukraine blew up a bridge with enemy equipment heading to Izyum
😂
Oh I don't think I've got you wrong at all, don't you worry.
That'll learn it.
I was wondering why they hadn't done this already. But, maybe they don't trust the Germans not to commission Nord Stream 2.
Plus, afaik, Russia is still paying them for the gas transferred. Bizarre.
Is it possible to jam GPS on a wide scale?
Can be done to block nearby devices from picking up location data, but would need some significant transmission hardware to do so over a wide area I'd have thought.
Collaborator bridge should have stayed where it was.
thats attacking Rushian property and Putin , as per his logic, and is entitled to up the ante to another level!]"
It would be very interesting if they could damage gas pipelines like Nord Stream 1. That would really get Europe's attention.
This Russian claims that the Moskva is already back in Sevastopol.
I'm sure it would be very easy for someone to provide a picture of it if that was really the case. Surprised they're not showing us something like this:
And claiming it's in stealth mode.
A ship that is hit doesn't necessarily sink.
What we do know for sure is that the ship suffered a very serious explosion because Russia have confirmed this.
I think all you guys saying no benefit to Ukraine in bombing Moscow are missing the point. The poster was clearly suggesting that the Russians would plant the bombs to justify further aggression and support for the war, as was reputedly the case with the Chechnya war.
In this situation I don't see it happening, it's not like the majority of Russians are against the war and need convincing
Apparently the horde are jamming GPS signals in Ukraine.
Perhaps the US could supply a GLONAS jammer if they don't already have one.
"The group of the SSO of Ukraine blew up a bridge with enemy equipment heading to IzyumUkril
days ago, our soldiers discovered enemy equipment in the Kharkiv region. These were armored vehicles "Tiger", Kamaz and three Urals, moving to strengthen their group in the Kharkiv region.
Having established the route of the enemy column, the operators of the SSO of Ukraine carried out reconnaissance of the object that was most suitable for an engineering ambush. Next - painstaking professional work: determining the place of installation of charges, calculating the required amount of TNT equivalent.
Putting explosives in a certain place, the operators of the Special Operations Forces were waiting for the enemy, who, unsuspectingly, was going to meet death.
Having blown up the bridge with the Russians, our operators, with the help of UAVs, confirmed the defeat of the target.
After that, the case was completed by our colleagues from the Ukrainian Defense Forces."
Well there are pros and cons. On the one hand, as you point out they have the support but the countries likely to change their support for a country using all of its means, including terrorism, to defend itself from a much larger aggressor, are probably not offerring much support to begin with, I dont believe it would be a red line with the US for example who provide important support as opposed to well wishes and prayers. The pros are pretty substantial. For one thing, Russia is operating at this quite frankly unbelievable advantage of a shot to nothing. They are free to invade without risk of losing territory, infrastructure or civilians. They are in a position where they can exhaust their military options without having to defend themselves, which to me is a huge strategic advantage. Attacks on Russian soil may in the short term lead to some hardened support within russia for the war but those russians were hardly swing voters to begin with, Russia already 100% controls the internal narrative. However, persistent and ongoing terrorism within Russian cities would psychologically effect the russians, eventually they would have to wonder "is this worth it?", once they see their own loved ones being hurt and their standard of living being further diminished by the increased security and fear that will no doubt be a response. Killing relatives or friends of the Russian leadership would be particularly effective as well as infrastructure that effects large populations like power stations or transportation hubs.
The Ukrainians have the higher moral ground, they are the defenders, they have the right to use all the means at their disposal to defend their loved ones. No point in being afraid to offend someone in Germany or Kazakhstan , when they offer no real support anyway. As far as Russian threats are concerned, what will they do? Commit war crimes? Execute POWS? Target civillians? This is already part of their war doctrine. Nothing to lose as far as I can see.
Yeah, surely if it was hit by missiles there would be casualties and sinking.
Just maybe we don't yet know the truth and either side could be lying?
No. The SSO group of Ukraine blew up a bridge with enemy equipment going to Izyum.
So, you're saying an SSO group of Ukrainians blew up some vehicles?
"Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Wednesday that Medvedchuk is "not a citizen of Russia" and has nothing to do with President Vladimir Putin's "special military operation," Interfax reported."
All of which is more than bit weird, given the Speaker of the Duma appears to have threatened severe consequences if anything happens to him.
"State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin confirmed today that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will be held accountable if the arrested Ukrainian politician Viktor Medvedchuk, whose association with Russia is alleged by Kyiv, is subjected to any harm."

They can't seem to get their story straight - big surprise.
google translate
It's a translation from 3 different posters... still funny though.
A good 24 hours for Team Ukraine... long may it last.
