@Gatling - It's been claimed the chemical is similar to sarin gas
I said earlier in the thread that this was a likely outcome.
And if he doesn't get his own way within a week to three of doing this, then he'll likely use tactical nukes.
All of this emboldens countries like China, India, Pakistan, etc. And gives added impetus to the nuclear ambitions of North Korea. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if in the near future Xi decides it's time to take over Taiwan, and gives out the same veiled nuclear threat as Russia to those who would intervene.
The West is sending a clear message... you can rape as many as you want, butcher as many civilians as you want, kill as many as you want and destroy entire countries, as long as it's not ours.
What a sad and horrible world we live in.
Exactly. The red line will become nuclear weapons instead
This is what has been visited on the people Ukraine.
There but for the grace of God go we.
Christ how can any sane person support this or deny that this is happening.
Upsetting hospital scenes included.

I think it's getting to the point now where NATO need to start putting plans in place to go in and kick the Russians teeth in.
There is a risk of Nuclear escalation but the likes of Russia if they are let away with this and anything but them getting stomped into the ground is them getting away with it, it will happen again.
China and Russia have no interest in human rights , in clarity or fairness we are deluding ourselves they are the enemy and it's high time we recognise them as such and bring them to heel.
I'd like to see a full scale attack from NATO on Russian troops in Ukraine call Putin's bluff let's see if he really wants nuclear annihilation for his children.
The problem is they were always going to be problems with Russia and sanctions based off how far the Kremlin has reach inside European countries and businesses , the moment they invaded Russian oil , gas, Money should have been stopped not targeted at a small number of individuals ,but the whole of Russia ,that should have included naval blockades to Stop them from leaving Russian waters .
No we got very limited sanctions aimed at a handful of people and banks .
Absolute waste of time and effort
We should crowdfund a large mobile tv and play that video outside that mechanics premises in Clane.
This is what he supports.
Looks like Slovakia has had enough and are going to give the MIG29s according to sources. Be nice if true. Suppose wait and see.

The problem is Ukraine don't have the time to wait and see.
They've been begging for more effective weapons, and planes, literally since the invasion started.
Hellfire and brimstone will rain down on Ukraine, carnage will ensue and the death toll will eventually be in the millions. Then they may get what they've actually asked for, when it's all too late.
The text is short and to the point. Any idea what the mayor is saying in the 2 minutes he is speaking? I assume he is giving reasons.
Yeah we're really gonna go to some random Telegram channel
It does appear to be the Mayors channel. That is if the photos of the mayor online are correct. It is him speaking.
I’ll bet it will look like the Russian embassy on Orwellian Road within a few days- covered in red paint and swastikas
Let's hope so!
The reviews from people that appeared to genuinely use the place are woeful. Sounds like a complete and utter thug. Who’s seriously vetting these kind of people into this country and giving them visas?
Cowards we all are for sitting back and allowing this to happen.
Should have nipped this from day one.
Europe and America are weak and Putin knows it.
Germany gets 49% of its fuel needs from Russia.
Italy 46%
Turkey 65%
France 24%
Hungary 72%
Poland 60%
Austria 63%
Czech Republic 82%
Finland and Slovakia 100%
Cut that off and blockade ports. I hope the turf you have in your back garden will keep them all warm.
But Germany needs its gas
Christ
Everyone in the Baltic States, and far beyond too, warned that Putin was on the rampage. A multinational force should have entered Ukraine before the invasion. Biden wasn't strong enough but now something can be done on the strength of so many nations getting involved. Putin is a world problem though and I can't believe he's still alive.
Sean Penn hit the nail on the head - "Ukraine WILL win, but at what cost?"
Logic dictates that Putin will use the nuclear threat to get what he wants when his army is thrashed and why on earth would anyone think he'll stop at Ukraine.
Perhaps a private mercenary group, who are unburdened by regulations, is the answer. $ Billion - no problem.
Kill everyone, take the land, get the oil.
So the chemical weapons redline has been crossed- oh wait, there is no red line

Norbert Rottgen (Bundestag member, ex Cabinet Minister a decade ago, CDU).
Calling out German collaboration with Putin fairly hard these days.
Baerbock is looking for the Ukraine to be supplied with everything they need but is blocked by the Chancellory Office of Scholz.
Russia intend to cut it off, their aim, as Lavarov pointed out is the ending of pax Americana, the post WW2 consensus.
They are willing to have a hard decade if it means that the modern West falls apart
Irish boys on tour. They are braver than me anyway.
this one got busted when driving around decorated in nazi swastika and a flag from fascist country. But what to do with other regime and war supporters/Ukraine haters that go on social media and openly distribute their hate speeches. As example there is a Russian lady a director of a certain employement agency business in Ballbriggan spouting her hate speeches and comments one every post in Linked In that supports Ukraine or Zelensky. What to do with the likes like her?
@Curious_Case - Perhaps a private mercenary group, who are unburdened by regulations, is the answer. $ Billion - no problem.
I suggested just that, way back on the 24th Feb - and mentioned the carnage that was to come. Unfortunately Western leaders are probably a bit too busy to be reading Boards.IE, to pick up the suggestion!
@goldenmick - Discretely and off the record offer a bounty for the assassination of Putin.
There are thousands out there with the capability and willingness to take it on, including plenty of mercenaries with vast skills and experience. Some of them would also have contacts in Russia, or be of Russian heritage so actually being in the country to do the deed would not be a problem. Then you have the creme de la creme of the special forces.
Offer 20, 50 or 100m or more. Whatever.
It rids the world of a tyrant and despot, would save countless lives and the world from the carnage that is to come, and I hardly think a new Russian regime would go down the same road as Putin.
America ended a war with a couple of atomic bombs. Russia will end the world with theirs.
Any coincidence with the new General being appointed and the possible use of chemical weapons a day later?
The f****r got away with it in Syria so why not here.
Oh look, it couldn't be more clear. The Kremlin wants the US out of Europe - wants France, Britain and Germany back at each others throats, and small nations to be picked off and collateral damage in the whole affair.
I really really hope that the political fringes in Europe who have allowed themselves to be intellectually courted by Putin for two decades wake the f*ck up and start appreciating what the EU has given to the stability of Europe. And silently, the security insurance policy of NATO and America's big stick has facilitated it.
Nope because Austria are as cosy with Russia as Germany and France are and in lockstep with them when it comes to a soft stance. That's the problem with guessing.
