Clearly Russia sending a message threatening Finland about joining NATO. I would hope that this time it might back fire and combined with the utterly evil atrocities they are committing daily since invading Ukraine that just strengths Finland's resolve and they join NATO.
It's fairly clear, if you want to know what the Russians are up to you can just assume it's whatever they've accused others of.
Did they not initially admit to bombing the railway station then changed the mind when the dead started clocking up because you know they're only targeting military installations...
My theory is that they simply want to deUkranianize Ukraine, considering it looked like they were trying to either bury or deport any non compliant or potentially noon compliant locals. Can't have them getting away and then looking to get back to their homes in the future. It's why humanitarian corridors have not been respected constantly.
But it would make sense too that they know Ukraine wouldn't strike a city back as hard if they lost a city to the Russians that still contained their citizens.
Both theories are possible IMO.
How long can they keep this level of denial up? They're in a full scale war with their neighbouring state, perhaps tens of thousands of civilians have died and all they can say is "Nothing to do with us, Guv. The Ukrainian army must have killed them". They're not even admitting to collateral damage, never mind widespread atrocities by their forces. The whole thing is beyond surreal.
Yes, the theory is that it was done to try and stop civilians leaving the region and to keep them as 'human shields'.
Fukking animals....with a bit of luck the russians will be eating grass for years.Leave the sanctions in place till they learn to behave like humans.
Watching Peskov on SKY News the other day was just infuriating.
"Russia committed x atrocity."
"...no we didn't."
That's not even good gaslighting. That's just what a 6 year old does when confronted over smashing a set of plates.
It's already gone past this point
Knowing full well it's full of civilians they deliberately targeted it - absolute f*cking scum
Hope the lads who launched those rockets have horrible deaths.
Bloody hell.
One of the few uplifting sights of recent days amidst all the horrors. I hope it all proves to have substance. Emotional reasons aside, Ukraine prior to the war was ranked as an extremely corrupt country and by objective standards a long way from being considered for EU membership.
How fcukin thick is he and the other braindead gobshítes that are still buying what Putin is spewing.
That dope deserves everything he gets.
They love living with western privileges and freedoms but constantly bitching about them and the country they're in. Bit like Wallace, Daly and the rest of our cretins on the left.
Direct consequences of being an inhumane cnunt. Good.
AND what does he want everybody to do how bout he fcuks back to moscow and opens a buisness
At this stage the average Russian in Russia must know what's going on. Many Russians have left the country recently and they're getting news here so they can inform the people back home. There are a million channels of info. still open to Russians.
The European Commission’s president, Ursula von der Leyen, pledged to offer Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy a speedier start to his country’s bid to become a member of the EU, Reuters reports.
Von der Leyen handed Zelenskiy a questionnaire which will form a starting point for the EU to decide on membership for Kyiv.
The European Commission chief said:
'It will not as usual be a matter of years to form this opinion but I think a matter of weeks.'
Zelenskiy told journalists that the questionnaire would be ready in a week.
Made my Friday, send him to Ukraine while we're at it
Finland hit by cyber-attack and possible breach of airspace.
What did he think would happen lmao
Good. Fcuk that guy. Supporting a war criminal.
She should be given another bottle of vodka, a revolver and sent to a dark room.
One of the organizers of "Russia rally" in Berlin, fears that he could lose his business after facing "people's hatred on google" after supporting Russia's aggression. "I certainly did not expect such a reaction. They completely destroyed my website. There are photos of corpses, of destroyed cites"
Good, but it's not enough. The buck stops with Putin and his circle, not some ill educated and malnourished 18 year old soldier who's probably traumatised and terrified by the whole experience. It's the people higher who need to be held most accountable, and they won't be
Great to see, hopefully we can streamline Ukraine into the EU once this horrible period in our history is over
His speech the day before the invasion was genuinely one of the most spine tingling things.
The man has a gift with words. I don't think Ukraine could have put up such a fight with many others at the helm
"And when you attack us, you will see our faces, not our backs but our faces"

shocking that they dont give a flying ****
And rightly so. We are all relieved Kyiv hasn't fallen and world leaders are going to visit.
Hopefully the rebuild of that part of Ukraine can start in earnest. I seen farmers (outside of the heroic tank raiders that stayed) are starting to return to Ukraine to get ready for the harvest.
Sends a big fat F**k you to Putin.
