They are being gradually lifted without any commitment to permanent removal. The measure is being presented as a temporary opening for later re-assessment.
unvaccinated people are allowed back to work but often not in the same task as before. For example teachers wont be able to teach. Nurses too.
I don't know about other countries but I would surprised if Italy was the only country still maintaining a culture of fear around Covid and the threat for more restrictions.
No the restrictions being lifted in June are for unvaccinated workers over 50 needing covid tests. Most of the other "holiday season" restrictions are gone or will be in 3 weeks.

You can only point to one measures in one country that is not going to be permanent.

It's been 2 years and we've still not gotten an answer to this...
The argument is whether the restrictions are permanent, nobody knows what the future holds.
For now, 2.5 years later, restrictions are still in place. Italian media and politicians are pushing for second booster and the risks of the new variants. Restrictions will be lifted in June to save the holiday season. It is understood that things will be "assessed" along the way for potential new restrictions after the Summer if numbers are high again.
The narrative has not changed
They have 70,000 cases and 150 people dying per day of Covid. They don't have these remaining restrictions for the "fun of it".
When the pandemic was at it's peak and national health systems were under severe strain we had the same bunch of snowflakes claiming we were living in a dystopia or a tyrannical state because they had to wear a piece of paper over their face in a shop.
I never said there weren't restrictions in place. Just that they're temporary and they're all being lifted at the moment.
Italys government didn't renew their state of emergency powers. They let them expire.

Just today they announced that 100 EUR fines will be issues to those who didn't respect the mandate. This is not the description of a free country.

I think they should have widened the net recruiting for this position. So many people have built up detailed knowledge on virology, immunology and vaccines over the past 2 years from the likes of bitchute, telegram and Facebook memes. It's disappointing to not see one of these in this highly prestigious academic position

They need to take a Covid test every 48 hours, at the cost of 15 Euro each. Healthy teachers who are not vaccinated aren't being allowed to teach anymore, they are being moved to "other" tasks.

Meant for another thread, but indeed there's a large overlap between conspiracy theorists, anti-vaxxers, Covid deniers, anti-maskers and Putin propagandists. Lump climate change denial into that mix. We have more than a few posters who tick all those boxes.

Terrible carnage there. It's so upsetting to see people that had normal lives a matter of months ago killed in the most horrific of circumstances or those left traumatized with their future uncertain. On a side note, and given it is a conspiracy thread, I do note a strong correlation between the conspiracy theorists / Covid deniers and that war in Ukraine is staged or fake. Is it just that they live in a parallel universe that's fuelled by fear / disinformation / paranoia / poor education?
