Nato now has a moral case for a no fly zone. What they'll do about it is another question.
Took NATO 7 years to get involved in the Balkans. That was after the UN walked away and the Serbs massacred 10k people in Srebrenica.
Anyway, the Biden (NATO) red-line is chemical weapons. Once the Russians use them, Biden et all will tie themselves in knots trying to explain how they aren't meeting the definition of chemical weapons (much like the thing the was but wasn't genocide in Rwanda) so they don't have to intervene.
They'll ramp up attacks to coincide with Von Der Leyens visit. They are the dirtiest shower of pricks.
"For the Children" is what a number of Ukrainians have translated it as on Twitter. TBH its sick no matter what. It appears it was mainly women and the elderly that they killed with that strike. Another war crime to add to the catalogue already committed by this sick nation. Russia as it is currently constituted should be isolated totally from the international community for decades.
Definitely Orcs I tell you!
Not sure about that but I imagine Russian money was behind the likes of Trump (Openly hostile to NATO friendly to Putin) and Brexit (Destabilise the EU).
I naively thought the image of the big bad Russia was overblown, sure they were behind atrocities but there are plenty of those to go around eg Iraq, Palestine etc, so to a some extent i bought the narrative of one side as bad as the other to a certain extent, not completely.
My opinion is now totally changed, Russia under Putin have shown themselves to be a truly evil force in the world, and their grip over Russian public opinion is probably the most worrying aspect.
This current east west divide could last for years to come and possibly escalate. Stuff I never dreamed of a few months ago.
TBH as every day goes by and a new Russian atrocity occurs I honestly don't know how NATO cannot get involved in this. At this stage the Russians are butchering civilians with impunity and we're all standing on the side-lines watching. Ireland can't do much offensively but the nations in NATO have the capacity and capabilities to do something about this.
Russia has shown its hand, its a dangerous fascist nation that will continue along this path until it is confronted with extreme force. The time to do that is now. NATO should declare it is patrolling the skies of Ukraine on the invitation of the Ukrainian Government and it should demand all of the aggressors forces leave Ukrainian Territory in 24 hours.
Ireland should expel everyone in the Russian consulate with immediate effect. Russia will not be engaged with for a long time after this disgusting illegal war of aggression so we don't need anyone to promote Irish interests over there for now.
Not that it makes it any better, but apparently the translation should more be read akin to "For Frodo" - i.e. we do this for our children, as opposed to this being targeted at children. S
You would have to wonder if it was Russia has money behind the trend of calling everyone a Nazi over the last 5 to 10 years.
Yeah they've moved into the Nazi part of the spectrum where you have to think "Surely they know they're the bad guys!".
What a scumbags! They are sending bombs with a caption "For children" (за детей).
The RCB cuts interest rates by 3% today and looks increasingly likely other commodities will be required to be paid in Roubles.
Exclaimer: I havent watched the video yet, Im going by your assessment.
I think yes now we are sleeping but I dont think its fair to judge on the thinking 8 years ago. I wouldnt call it sleeping back then. It just isnt the same thing. And there would have been as many good reasons back then (not just selfish ones) to not escalate things as there were bad.
The EU model, not to mention the model of globalisation in general has clearly proved that having countries economically dependent on each other is a good thing, not a bad thing. Diplomacy and keeping an open line has also proven to be effective. I am not sure how far more EU could/should have taken things at the time.
Sweet Jaysus, I looked at a comment thread on RT for the first time ever.
Yeah "My enemy's enemy is my friend" might help explain his career path...
I am old enough to live through Solidarity era, strikes and all these changes in Poland. And even 30-40 years after that I never trust that my phone call is not listened to or recorded. Secret forces are the essence of any totalitarian regime. And they are huge. I think in Russia it must be ingrained in them as it is still in me, that your call might be recorded. That's why they are so cautious answering any calls from strangers or any interviews on the street.
That reminds me, has anyone heard from Bryan MacDonald lately? No twitter activity since Feb 24th, when he admitted to getting it wrong
Fair few lawless cowboys up that way, bandit country.
The leftmost image has a FB page showing he's from Crossmaglen and lives in Russia. Page is locked so no comments/messages/whatever
Here's the first row of Google image search results for his name. Weird.
Ah yeah, they were a bit stuck but they left the people behind to fend for themselves. The tactics China used are (hopefully) instructive in that they are happy to play the long game. There's always been **** going on but they seemed to wait about 15 years before really cracking down and the last 5-10 have solidified things. When they look at Taiwan they're in absolutely no hurry. If it takes another 50 years but they get a thriving region with foreign money flowing through that's better than getting it in 10 years having bombed the **** out of it.
...
Not the first time Russia have shut off gas to their customers in Europe, its been used as blackmail on several occations against their neigbours as well, and one of the reasons why many is seeking deals with EU instead or becoming EU members.
And also the reason why many is going for NATO membership, because this will obvioulsy escalate when these countries starts to protest and fight back.
RT News running adds selling Z merchandise, hoodies and t-shirts.
This Irish lad is one of it's main anchors.
If someone on social media could spam his accounts and call him a Cúnt from me I'd appreciate it.
In late 2021, the International Energy Agency reported that Russia had reduced its piped gas supplies to the EU market with pipeline deliveries from Russia’s state-owned gas company, Gazprom, sending about 25% less gas than usual to Europe despite a surge in demand.
So it wasn't that Europe was importing less gas from Russia, Russia was deliberately limiting gas supplies to Europe.
Some analysts believe that this was a deliberate move to hold Europe to ransom in advance of its invasion of Ukraine and is a good indication as to just how long Russia was preparing the ground for the Invasion of Ukraine in February 2022
What you are showing is rocket artilley, not standard 152 mm howitzers thats mainly used.
Unless you want a forrest fire thats pretty obvious, and they usually also have alot longer range
Nato uses 155 howitzers as standard, and the MLRS systems are mobile, meaning shoot and scoot.
But anyway yes a bit off topic
Kind of correct. They had Hong Kong Island itself in perpetuity and could have legally hung onto it as long as they could have defended it. The New Territories were under lease, which were expiring prompting the handover.
Because she's already done so!
