Agree! someone needs to stand up for us and let themselves be heard. Have not heard a peep from anyone.
Ming is looking at the bigger picture.
One could say he is adopting a Healy Raesque approach.
Russian energy imports blocked, turf cutting is back in fashion. 😉
They're living in Orwell's 1984.
Exactly where the fook is Mairead McGuinness the supposed brilliant FG export.
She was fooking quick to stick the knife into her colleague Big Phil, but not a peep out of her.
Nevermind Maria Walsh who is probably doing, well fook all.
Sean Kelly is probably trying to make sure he has tickets for Páirc Uí Rinn.
I would have thought the Greens would be all over this as they are so fond of banning stuff, especially fossil fuels.
Or maybe they just are waiting for their German colleagues to tell them which way to swing.
EDIT:
God be with the days when we had MEPs that had balls.
Remember how MEPs had a swipe at big old Ian when he harranged the pope.
The youngsters should look it up.
The strange thing is that it turns out that big old Ian, the bigotry boll***s, actually had a point about the Pope.
Maybe we could send ukraine some turf to heat themselves if you get me....
Fcuk me that's some line up of rogue states. "Feck Ukraine, we're anti America and even if it means backing our beloved genocidal Russians".
IF this fails (genocidal Russia waging war on civilians), what's the actual point of the UN? Wind it the fúck up and stop giving these failed states a platform that semi legitimises them.
The idea of kids spurred on by their parents and ratting out teachers. Like something out of the darkest days of the Soviet Union or North Korea. Shocking.
McGuinness is an EU Commissioner now. She's not likely to comment on them. She was an MEP back then (don't really remember what she said if anything about "big Phil" at the time he got in trouble, or what you are referring to there?).
As regards the terrible twosome in the EU (Mick Wallace and Clare Daly) not representing us or their electorate, well they do, even if their opinions on these issues are unpopular and may come as a nasty shock and feel like a betrayal now.
Irish people voted them in as their representatives and really should have known them for what they were or paid attention a bit more. Hopefully the electorate will take a lesson from it and will bother their behinds to vote in European elections in future, not leave the field to cranks, and not vote for some joke of a candidate to "stick it to the man" in an instiution (EU parliament) they seemingly have contempt for.
The joke candidates stop being funny when politicians start needing to deal with issues of life & death or war and peace etc.
The BBC are running the story of Russian soldiers being killed in cold blood.
So it seems that these lads are most likely from Georgia, which I would imagine is probably enough fuel for Putin to start with the Georgian Nazi's angle if he desires pushing on that front too.
It's a shame that this is happening because this behaviour has absolutely no positive effect for the Ukranian resistance efforts and just feeds into the narrative the Russians would like to push. Those fighting on the side of Ukranians really need to be keeping themselves to as high a standard as possible, regardless of the horrors that the Russians have inflicted on civilians.
Easier said than done I’d imagine - 5 or 6 weeks of living in hell kindof has that affect on people- I can’t say I’d do much different if my family were murdered by the Russians
Revolting.
Daly and Wallace will go down in infamy. They may as well enjoy their 15 mins of fame doing their Lord Haw Haw act, because their political careers are toast.
The Irish "far left" have thoroughly disgraced themselves over the last two months.
Didn't think we'd see the day when Irish avowed "anti-imperialsits" would become some of the loudest mouthpieces for a fascist invasion but here we are.
Paul Murphy, Mick Barry et al, we see you...

Tbh I really couldn't give two **** about "the Russian narrative " . After what they have been doing in Ukraine ( and we haven't seen anything like the full extent yet) they deserve everything that comes their way.
It was the same in east Germany b4 the wall came down, half the population was spying on the other half.
.
DER SPIEGEL has learned that German intelligence intercepted radio traffic from the Russian military regarding the murder of civilians in Bucha. It appears that such atrocities were part of the plan."
"In another intercepted conversation, a man apparently said: First you interrogate soldiers, then you shoot them."
Perhaps the biased BBC could run that one.
Oh I forgot her back stabbing big Phil was so that she could get the gig.
And Leo the backstabber was trying to get revenge for Big Phil being big part of Kenny's showing him up alongside mutinous Richard.
Oh don't get me started on the EU elections and the crackpots.
Russian casualties as estimated by Ukrainian authorities are currently 18,900. Given the ±500 a day rate, they might top 20,000 before the weekend is out.
You forget that there are lots of Georgians and Chechens who will want to exact revenge on Russians for what they have done in their countries/regions.
It is akin to how the worst ones in Vietnam to captured Vietcong / NVA were the South Koreans who just hated anyone communist related.
And as for Putin starting in South Osetia/Georgia it would be lunacy to spread the conflict when he is bogged down at the moment.
It seems though that it is possible that this was a "mercy killing" and not a Putin style atrocity. Ukrainian speakers say the conversation on the video was that the unfortunate Russian soldier was already dying from injuries sustained in battle and the soldiers were debating whether to put him out of his misery.
Good news
I doubt these female Ukrainian POWs who were exchanged for RUssian POWs, would agree with you:
"Last Friday the governments of Ukraine and Russia held a prisoner of war exchange, captured by both sides during the invasion of Ukraine. The swap was made possible by an agreement between the two delegations negotiating on behalf of Zelensky and Putin to end the war.
Among the 86 Ukrainian soldiers who returned to their country, there were 15 women." https://cvvnews.com/they-denounce-that-the-russian-army-shaves-the-heads-of-captured-ukrainian-soldiers/
No real surprises on the against list:-
I was talking about Russian soldiers. Didn't Moses kill yer man because he was the aggressor?
We keep pointing this out. Virtually anyone who puts forward any angle from the Russian point of view is lending support to the criminal Putin regime (even if that is not their intention). The idea that you can have 'balance' or 'two points of view' when the regime is pursuing an aggressive war of annihilation and possible genocide against the Ukrainian people will just not wash.
Russian spokesperson being interviewed on sky news now
Peskov is putins spokesperson.
He's one of the head honchos in the Putin regime. He's often seen on TV there and quoted in the media.
So embarrassing for our country. I'm ashamed of them.
Military expediency:
If you do that pretty soon you won't have any one surrendering to you... You want soldiers to surrender when their position is hopeless not fight to the death
If your own soldiers surrender you want quid pro quo
Not a fan of the music but I like the Ukrainian made Stugna when there's a Russian chopper, tank, or fuel truck as it's customer.
