There is already an EU plan to reduce gas supplies by 2/3 by year end. Coal is a lot easier to do imminently and oil, the aforementioned wart of Hungary/Orban aside, is also doable to a large extent within the calendar year. 2030 is the official end target but you'd expect that to be accelerated considerably.

Actually the same France24 had a report on debunking that particular photo that's doing the rounds today. In the sense that it's from 2013 and there is no evidence beyond hearsay about their use. Like I say if they were using them I'd not be too shocked. Well I would, but you know what I mean. However the evidence so far seems to show that the Russians don't seem to be giving a crap about the optics, or at least weren't.
Look, we know the Russians are liars. They just have to open their mouth it seems. Truth in the Russian language must be a very vague word in recent years. However this fog of war can lead to tall tales and hearsay everywhere. Not just as some deliberate propaganda either. The Ukrainian people are rightfully terribly scared and traumatised in those cities and with bloody good reason, but that can lead to such hearsay. The "Ghost of Kyiv" and others have come and gone on the back of such things.
The problem with using something like that truck to try to wipe the Russian's war crimes away is one of practicality. To cremate any bodies en masse, they'd need a lot of fuel and a lot of time and many trucks. The German nazi bastards in WW2 found this out early on in their murderous evils. They had to build factories to do it. And like I was saying the evidence we;ve seen over the last few days and what is still coming out almost hourly is the Russian troops on the ground don't seem to a damn about executing war crimes or covering them up. They left hundreds of bodies in the street and houses and gardens and what "graves" they improvised were barely covered up. I really don't think these primitive drunken bastards care.
Problem is as also that Macron blocked a pipeline project from Spain to France and onwards to the rest of Europe. Now countries who need oil or coal cry for a gas ban. Others, needing gas, want to ban oil and or coal so nothing gets done and Germany is labeled as the scapegoat.

To be fair there are a not insignificant number of nuclear "experts" on Twitter who are basically saying there is very little danger to anyone in the exclusion zone for a few weeks. If actual "experts" unironically have that opinion then it's entirely plausible the Russian scientists and advisors are also telling the military the same thing with a straight face.
People on this thread were making similar statements about the Chernobyl area; so it's not that hard to believe the Russian grunts would have dug away without a care in the world.

There are plenty of batshit crazy people out there who got that way without any outright coercion be it monetary or any other kind. Not everything is because some third party is somehow actively leveraging them; I mean that's almost letting these people off the hook. They are (in the vast majority of cases I'm sure) the way they are entirely of their own free will.
