No surprise there, apparently Slovyansk is key to encircling the Eastern Ukrainian forces according to the UK and US intelligence people.
I expect that the defense of Slovyansk will be more intense than either Kiev or Mariupol if necessary. What happens there will determine the outcome of the invasion. It's unlikely Russia will have the strength/resources to regroup and try again if they are repelled. Conversely, the Eastern Ukrainian forces are the most battle hardened and if they are captured it's a massive loss.

That stuff will not come as a shock to ordinary Russians, both supporters of the war and those that don't. The latter have long seen it coming. Since putin rose to power he's heavliy pushed the narrative of sacrifice to the motherland using the backdrop of WW2 and national pride about fighting the actual Nazis. Something the Russian people(comrade Stalin bedamned) have always and rightfully been proud of. Finding any Russian today who didn't lose at least one ancestor in that would be difficult. It was always present but far more as a day of remembrance rather than a current concern or point of active propaganda against an enemy. Stalin had been kinda shuffled to the left too, but Czar vlad has brought him more back into the fold too.
He has been priming the Russian people for war and more, priming them for sacrifice of their young men in the prosecution of it against "nazis" again. That's why he paints the Ukrainians as nazis, it feeds into this background narrative he's built up over the last few years. Note how there was no talk of them being nazis when his puppets were in power and when there were more actual far right extremists in Ukraine and in the Ukrainain government.
He didn't need to push the nazi angle with his wars in Syria Chechnya or even Georgia, because they're not quite Russian, or not at all(Russians, Chinese too, would be much more openly nationalist and racist than Western Europeans). Ukraine and Ukrainians were and are too close to home for comfort with deep cultural and blood relations with Russia and Russians and a lot harder to paint as The Other. He has to paint them as nazis the rebirth of the biggest Worst Enemy Bastards Of All TIme(tm) and that Other makes sense. At least it does in the minds of a paranoid peoples revved up by their leader to his own ends.
I was getting annoyed with your pitchfork approach to calling out any opinion that slightly diverges from the good guys v bad guys narrative but I wholeheartedly agree that Clare Daly is an absolute embarrassment to the country. How can she blame NATO in any way? She clearly just hates America, bizarre. Even having a swing at their "dirty" gas, as opposed to the wonderful pure Russian fuel? She's off her head. I'm always surprised when I hear anti American opinion in Ireland. I find wars in the middle east a fair target but no other single country has supported the Irish state more in its history, through independence right up to the peace process and of course the foreign direct investment that helped build our economy. They are no angels but they are certainly no enemy of ours.

That photo is from 2013. There is no evidence of their use in Ukraine today. Would I be surprised if the cúnts were at it? No, but we need to see the evidence like we have seen in Bucha, or we're not that much better than the gobshítes that saw the same Russian crimes in Bucha and claimed a raindrop on a windscreen or a wing mirror "proved" the corpses were alive and that it was false propaganda against Russia. Never mind that if the Russians were using these military mobile crematoria* to hide their barbarity and war crimes Bucha and other places seem to show they simply don't care about the optics as they exterminate "nazis".

US Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield said Washington would ask the UN General Assembly to suspend Russia's membership of the UN Human Rights Council. Two-thirds of the 193 UN member states are required to remove a country from the Council.
AFP reports that the UN General Assembly will vote on Thursday to suspend Russia from the Human Rights Council.
