Any big decision within the company will now require a signature from Musk
No , it won't.
He's not on the board and holds no office/position within Twitter so he has absolutely zero decision making influence whatsoever.
No one from Twitter will be asking for Musks permission to do a thing.
Also , For what seems like the thousandth time - There is no entitlement to Freedom of Speech from a Private Company.
No ones "rights" are being infringed if they can't obey the Terms & Conditions of a Private company.
How stupid does one have to be to not get this?
Ochams razor shifts to identifying it as gaslighting.
The answer is trump supporters.
Ah now. Lads, be sensitive, there was a time when the leftist posters who support The Monarchy would have laughed at peasants who thought they could get representation, simply because they were taxed! That isn't how the law worked you silly fools, etc.
Now, I don't have a problem with anyone arguing for why they think Twitter should be considered a government forum, that's an uphill battle for them, god speed, but trying to keep arguing that this vision you have of an America, where twitter is somehow already that, just isn't real.
Why is it that those that shout loudest about their "Constitutional Rights" seem to not have even the most rudimentary understanding of what rights the Constitution provides and to whom?
Because of the demagogues they elect, usually. I've been doing an unscheduled, involuntary case study of my Congressman's social media almost daily for about the past 6 years and I have to say, some of the discussion he's allowed to propagate there have been pretty bad over the years, often it would be things like suggesting fetuses have personhood (not in US law) or suggesting that large portions of the 14th amendment, don't actually exist: that you can exclude the census to only be US persons, and just not count them for anything; also, noncitizens have no right to any of the protections of law, just all the punishments of law. etc.
Speaking of Constitutional Rights, soon the Senate's "States Rights!" politicians will almost assuredly vote to kill a bill passed by the House that will pass off the ability to determine whether cannabis is illegal or not back to the states to decide for themselves.
.
Jfc - when is she going to get kicked out of the party?
Didn’t she go on a fundraiser with Matt Gaetz?
Zero morals.
Surely she can be sued for making statements like that?
I'd say the insanity defence would be readily available..
Jewish space lasers, how hate speech is protected by freedom of speech amazes me
Normal common decency should mean she would be very much on the outside politically, that’s in short measure with those who vote for her.
Raunchy porn is protected. 1st amendment is sacred. As to the question of slander by trailer-park Karen, public figures are largely not protected. Seeing how this works here and the UK, I prefer the US model.
Well surprise surprise guys, Musk is being appointed to the board.
Twitter is appointing Tesla CEO Elon Musk to its board of directors, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Musk will serve as a class II director until 2024.
“The Company will appoint Mr. Musk to the Company’s Board of Directors (the “Board”) to serve as a Class II director with a term expiring at the Company’s 2024 Annual Meeting of Stockholders,” the filing says.
It's just more junk talk by the "short bus people". I don't think anyone with even a couple of brain cells to rub together should be getting wound up by it really. It's Marjorie Taylor Green FFS...who gives a crap what she "thinks"? She's a GOP bottom feeder. A mildly curious zoo animal that even conservatives laugh at.
Can't remember if it was you or one of the other pro-trump posters who posted a poll which revealed that he was more popular when people didn't hear from him.
May be a case of being careful what you wish for.
What happened truth social?
He still only has 1 vote , he's not in charge.
As others have pointed out , Trumps only path back on to Twitter is linked to him declaring for 2024.
There might be an argument to be made that keeping him banned would be unfair/unbalanced in terms of the Election but even then he might only be let back on an extremely short leash. That discussion isn't happening until the middle of next year at the earliest though when the official Presidential primary season kicks off.
However if/when that decision is made it'll have little to nothing to do with the fact that Musk is involved.
“Truth Social has seen its downloads plunge so low that it has fallen off the App Store charts.
The company is losing investors, executives and attention. And though his adult sons just joined, Trump himself hasn’t posted there in weeks.
Devin Nunes, the former member of Congress from California who gave up the seat that he held for 19 years to run the company, had said the app would be “fully operational” by the end of March. But it has been hamstrung by technical issues.
Trump has privately fumed about the app’s slow rollout and has mused about joining other platforms such as Gettr, according to people familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the subject.”
No wonder they want him back on Twitter.
Musk, the true champion of the poor. 🙄 He definitely understands the plight of the poor of society
Ok he’s on the board. I’ll ask again, why would he lift the ban on Trump?
In Ukraine, he refused to block any pro-Russian propaganda sites on the starlink. He said that he is a free-speech apologist at all costs
And he can choose to do that because he owns Starlink fully.
He doesn't own Twitter nor does he have any kind of casting vote or veto powers etc. so whether or not Trump gets back on Twitter has next to nothing to do with Elon Musk
If you are the majority share-holder, whether or not you hold the casting vote is arbitrary. You are going to have some amount of sway over the corporate policies and affairs
Actually you don’t. That’s what the CEO does. The board appoints the CEO and the other company officers, they run the company. They have executive decision making power over everything. If the board doesn’t like it, their only choice is to remove them. You can’t do that with 9% and one vote.
um
Former Trump aide who is running for Congress to help Trump with autocoup 2.0, has been found to have voted in 2 states in 2016, an act of election rigging.
Oh dear oh dear, First Jared and now Ivanka...
Ivanka Trump, the daughter and senior White House adviser of former President Donald Trump, spent roughly eight hours Tuesday testifying before the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.
8 hours??, that's not how long it takes to plead the 5th..
Somebody might be dobbing in their Daddy to save themselves.
