Who ate all the pies?
Have a look round ICU...
It is official Russian war policy to batter the enemy into submission, including civilians. I heard an interesting word from the Lithuanian prime minister - Groznify.
501st surrendered, 503rd continues the fight.
So the reports currently go.
@cossackgundi is the guy Dyr is on about. He posted that 501/503 distinction.
It’s a sad development if true, but not altogether surprising, considering how long they’ve been fighting, how hard, and the supply situation.
Did I post that a battalion had surrendered?
Build up an enemy that threatens you and yours, dehumanise them over the last ten years(so nearly half the life of the average soldier), lie to them they'll welcome you, turn a blind eye to drunkenness, looting and discipline, among mostly conscripts and kid "professionals", leave to simmer in the brutal winter weather with little oversight and war crimes are a near given. And their rulers know this.
I think someone has just got themselves some new and very effective AA assets:
"Ukrainian Air Defense shot down 3 of 4 missiles launched by 2 Su-35 from Belarusian airspace. 4th missile damaged and missed a target"
"2 aerial targets were destroyed over Rivne region by Air Defense"
"Russian missile was shot down over Volyn overnight - head of regional administration"
"Ukrainian air defense shot down two Russian missiles over Dnipropetrovsk region overnight."
No way is that a normal night in Ukraine. To hit all 4 missiles fired by two planes is ridiculous and might be a warfare first, let alone this conflict.
And as if that weren't enough, this amazing bit of Ukrainian military lateral thinking - downing a helicopter with a Ukrainian designed and made anti tank missile:
Irish or UK ambulance hit when hospital is attacked.
Get a fire tender, empty out the water and replace it with kerosene. Park it next to the fence and use the high pressure pump and hose to project the kerosene over the fence and onto the building. Heating oil delivery accomplished. You'd have to ensure there were no naked flames or ignition sources about, as that would be very unsafe.
Can you send donations for the kerosene.
Brilliant idea.
Get an oil delivery vehicle, fill with water and fill up their oil tanks with purest Irish spring water.
Looks like Germany aren't ready to ban natural gas imports from Russia, but are willing to ban coal.
2:37 - "in these videos there isnt a single dead body"
He's right there aren't. Pity it's a different road... There's no dead bodies on my road either. Proof. Soviet Style.
Carla Del Ponte, former prosecutor of the UN criminal tribunals for crimes in the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda, asked the International Criminal Tribunal in The Hague to arrest Vladimir Putin. She stressed that the president of Russia is a war criminal.
Carla Del Ponte noted that "this is the only existing instrument for arresting a war crime perpetrator". However, she added that the issue of an arrest warrant did not mean Putin would be sent to prison immediately.
- However, it would make it difficult for him to leave the country, and would also send a strong signal that many countries are against him - she explained.
Seriously chief, I've been super critical of, and wholly condemn, the Russian government for their actions in Ukraine.
I have never "both sided" this situation.
News outlets, outside opinion pieces, should report factually and without emotionally charged or agenda driven presentation. That goes for not just "both sides" but universally.
I have voiced that I don't agree with propaganda and it's my opinion that the likes of RT shouldn't have been taken off SKY so we can see what kind of rubbish they are saying. I'm of the opinion that its not always a bad idea to allow people to spout their rubbish, just so the general public can see their lies in all it's glory.
Everything that comes out of Russia is bullshit so should be discounted, but some propaganda that emboldens the resolve of Ukraine is good is something I feel uncomfortable with. I just want the facts of what is happening.
I never once tried to "both side" this situation as you are desperately trying to make it out.
I just want to hear what both sides are saying, and don't advocate that the views of the side I disagree with should be silenced in any way. Not that they are equally culpable or that they hold similar weight.
You seem to have an issue with me as if I was some sort of Putin sympathiser and it's at best unfair and at worst a downright lie.
I'm aware that if people actively WANT to search for Russian news, they have means and methods, but it was the active suppression of anything even slightly not anti-russian that I am not entirely comfortable with.
So please, stop misrepresenting me and trying to frame me as someone who is in any way supportive of Russia.
Put "Cuskie Runts Fuels Ltd." on the truck and invoice and insist on cash on delivery
Does this 'brit' speak Ukrainian or Russian? I would have thought that foreigners who couldn't speak either would be most likely to be put in units with a CO who could speak their language.
Sorry, I'm not into vegan.
They're absolutely bonkers not to get their nuclear power plants back in working order. The whole decision to shut them down was madness to begin with.
It certainly appears that the Ukraine have gotten some new toys to play with.
The big question I have about that KA-52 taken down by a anti-tank missile is what the pilot was thinking.
Given the manpads that the Ukraine have available to them why was he hovering in the one spot?
I mean fair play to the Ukrainian missile operators taking down a helicopter with a surface to surface missile but it poses serious questions about the competence of the pilot of a $16+ million helicopter gunship?
There seems to be no professionalism or competence in any arm of the Russian military.
It's not a lack of willingness, it's arranging the alternatives. Coal is the easiest one to do and they've already flagged year end for oil and gas. In effect ending Russian energy supplies will be a permanent sanction. Of the EU countries exposed Hungary might buck the trend.
Why are you putting "Brit" in quotation marks?
Maybe if you shared some of these super critical posts about Russia, that might take away the impression that you only seem to pop up with posts that are critical of the West \ Western actions. And I don't mean posts where other posters challenged you on it initially.
And there have been quite a few posters who have been engaged in smokescreens and both sides and denying Russian actions.
RT were in clear breach of UK broadcasting standards and if the standards don't apply to RT then any station could do what it likes. So either there's broadcasting standards for 'news' channels or there isn't..
I wish this war would end soon, it's getting expensive:
I’ve posted his Twitter handle, maybe visit his timeline and make up your own mind?
Not being sarcastic or contrarian, nor shielding other poster(s): just informing the debate/source, is all 🙂
insist on cash on delivery...
...in roubles.
@[Deleted User] ^ let me "both sides" this for you
It's as if you're desperate to find somebody to fight with you. You keep ranting about imaginary posters who support Russia. There aren't any.
Just because you post here all day long doesn't make you some kind of hero for Ukraine.
Looks like a Russian helicopter crew have deserted, taking their helicopter with them.
the the Irish government have for years adapted the following strategy re overseas representation / embassy policy. In some countries where it has no embassy , the british embassy normally handled any Irish business. Eg Irish citizens with a passport issue . In other cases where the Irish gov has no ambassador it would accredite that country to a next door country with an Irish ambassador
A SUGGESTION. Since all EU/ sanction supporting countries should have almost zilch business with RU ,and vice -versa, and therefor no need for reciprocal embassies, close them all down BUT keep one open or let a section of the EU act / play / provide the embassy roll on behalf of all the closed down embassies - . The strategy need not be binding so as to avoid splits.
since the Iron Curtain is going to be in place for the next 5/10 years or so there will be no point in having a fully staffed or minimally staffed embassy since there will be little or no business being transacted. Whatever bit there is can be handled thru the ‘EU embassy’.
The above suggestion would be another significant addition to list of sanctions.
it would kill stone dead all the RU espionage going on.
An ad hoc battke group formed from shattered remnants of other units centred around the marine unit would account from the disparities. Similar to german army units in 1945, whermacht ,ss, hitler youth, foreign fighters, ost infantry and luftwaffe ground personnel, cobbled together from broken units and sent back to fight.
