Professor guy was saying on Prime Time that the so called de-escalation is probably little more than a cynical PR stunt by the Putin regime. They're supposedly holding "peace talks" with Ukraine at a time when they are bombing the hell out of their country.

Despite all the flaws of the Russian army and government , I think you’re not giving them enough credit , they’re not going to make major strategic decisions just cause some guy said something they didn’t like (and who is right). It’s not really how these things work.
I don't see any reason why the British MoD should refrain from a statement based on observation. If Putin's that sensitive to such things, he may not be cut out for the tyrant business, and may be better off purchasing Best of the Smiths and a nice downy pillow to cry into while listening to "Please, Please, Please Let me Get What I Want" on repeat.
