I would say there has been almost zero retirements this last 2 years because of "work from home" . A lot of HEOs that were due for retirement have probably been taking this as a 2 year trial run to see if they'll like home life while still collecting 60k a year. Would expect all lists to start advancing rapidly this year with people being asked to go back to their offices soon.
I'd agree with you.
I get to talk to a lot of people in all departments. A lot do those nearing retirement are going to jump ship with a return to the office
Do the waitlist position update periodically or is updated almost instantly? I noticed I moved up and then down in one department over last few weeks so not sure if it was an error or something.
Is it 1 in 6 or 1 in 8 for mobility? Why does it move so slowly?
I thought there was a lot of recruitment in the last 5 years in the CS.
1 in 6 for HEO. There appears to be quite a number of advertisement based positions which surely impacts on the list based system and restricts movement. Departments are probably fulfilling their 1 in 6 obligation by filling from the advertisements. Would love to see some statistics on movement to date.
Has anyone been able to access the mobility map recently? Keep getting prompted for DPER ArcGIS login details to access it…
I haven't tried to look at it outside of Peoplepoint but looking at it through there I've had no issue
I think they'll have an exodus alright but not because of retirements
Has anyone experienced AO mobility? I am current 3rd on panel for 2 Revenue location. ARCGIS mapping shows there are currently 4 AO positions in both (obviously unsure if they are available). However I contacted Revenue and they advised that they had no intentions of taking from the AO mobility panel. Is this correct?
I had not heard this very disappointed to read as I was hoping to move to revenue too.
What do you mean?
Haven't figured how to do a search within thread on the Mobile so apologies if this has already been covered.
Whilst on maternity, can one get added to an additional mobility list? Already on list for DEASP but think I should add revenue.
It has to be allowed, but how will you manage it without accessing the system? Email peoplepoint?
An office I’m on a wait list for has paused outbound mobility. I don’t know if this affects inbound mobility opportunities. Does anyone know if it does?
20% of the civil service are due to retire I believe in a few years
There is some precedence that if you know of a spot in the Department (parent department where you are) you can speak with HR
For the AP Mobility scheme notices, you can sign up with any email address, so you can get announcements sent to your personal email address.
What’s AO mobility like? I want to move to Munster region by end of next year/beginning next. What departments should I chose? What is the process?
Email mobility@nsso.gov.ie, or your HR if not a PeoplePoint customer.
It doesn't - the main point of the hold is to allow vacancies to be filled.
I was given the same advice. I am number one on the list for Revenue in my chosen location so I got all excited and phoned them up, only to be told that AOs and HEOs are generally specialist roles so are very unlikely to be filled from the mobility list. There may be an opportunity down the line with the advertisement mobility but your CV would want to meet the requirements. So basically I think there is very little AO mobility outside of Dublin unfortunately.
Can anyone provide info on why there has been only 1 or 2 AP posts advertised by Revenue since the mobility scheme opened? As I understand 1 in 3 have to be advertised and given the scale of resources in Revenue it would be reasonable to expect a higher proportion of adverts.
Revenue suit themselves.
There seems to be a lot of interest in Revenue on here. Any particular reason for this?
Where are you seeing posts advertised?
I imagine it's because they have the most locations outside of Dublin that have AO grades and possibly AP grades? DSP would have a lot of locations as well but they are more CO/EO heavy and would have very few AO grades.
When you register to be informed of advertised posts, an email notification is provided to your email address and it provides all relevant detail of the post in question with closing date to lodge your interest if it suits.
Some weeks there could 3/4 others just one. The majority are for Dublin.
I'd say that's more or less it. From personal experience I know that AOs in Revenue outside of Dublin are few and far between, one or two in each office and are almost always auditors. That's also correct about DSP. The vast majority of AOs are in Dublin, a very small number of AO ICTs, less than 10, are outside Dublin but that's about it.
Registered where though, Public Jobs? Never heard of this option before, only the mobility list through PeoplePoint
Through peoplepoint. Underneath the list based mobility it mentions advertisement mobility.
Looks like I don't have that option, that's strange
Just HEO/AO up I think.
