Yes apparently around 31 staff which is far more than most other embassies:-
There were previously "security concerns" about 10 staff working at the embassy (that's 33% of staff) in 2018:-
Eeee, Putin keeps talking to Macron, because he is the only one willing to talk to a war criminal....
But we will always have the memories. Particularly of the twin toilets:
Ukraine's security agency has shut down five bot farms since the start of Russia's invasion of the country almost five weeks ago, slowing down a Russian operation designed to spread disinformation in the war-torn country and to sow panic among its frightened residents. [...]
During searches of the locations, the SSU officers found more than 100 GSM gateway appliances, almost 10,000 SIM cards from a variety of mobile carriers used to disguise the identity of the users and laptops and other computer equipment "with evidence of illegal actions," including controlling the bots, they said.
They also said the bots used more than 100,000 fake social media accounts that were deployed to spread the disinformation
Slawa Ukraini!
Russia attempting to replace the Hryvnia with Ruble in seized parts of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson:-
A good point about the scale back of military activities on Kyiv:-
If I were the US, I would be urging Ukraine not to agree to any peace deal and to keep pushing until they have the entirety of ukraine and Crimea back and then get Russia to pay them not to march on Moscow. Ok, that's a bit OTT, and I'm not entirely serious but that article shows that they shouldn't be conceeding much, if anything. Any agreement on neutrality should be time limited, say to 15 years and Mariupol and large swathes of the east would be a no.
What a complete and utter clusterfuck for the Russians. One of their best divisions effectively wiped out. Plus they have equipped the Ukrainians with more modern tanks than they were using (T80's).
No they don't need to set anti-personnel mines individually and by hand.....there are other types as well, best known perhaps are the so called "Cluster Bombs". These bomb's are dropped from a high flying aircraft in the form of a "Mother Bomb". When the Mother Bomb reaches a predetermined altitude and location, the Mother Bomb opens and disperses hundreds of "Baby Bombs". These bombs are on parachutes, and can drift off course over a wide area before they land. Theoretically, they explode on landing, but depending on the manufacturer's, quite a lot do not explode. When this happens, they become unpredictable.....its not necessary to even physically touch them. Something a simple as a persons shadow falling on one can be enough to trigger them, or the vibrations of a vehicle passing nearby can have the same effect. 123 Country's have banned their use, but neither Russia, Ukraine or the US are signatory's, but its been more than 30 years since the US last used them.
Russia vows to do the same with Kharkiv, Kyiv, Lviv and Rivne as they did in Mariupol - what exactly? Blow the s**t out of the cities, kill thousands, leave the survivors without food, water, heating and electricity and leave the cities in ruin?
But look it's all in the name of the people of those cities who will "support [them] forever":-
I agree with this perspective.
We've been told 8n the past that not all working out of the embassy are official diplomats.
If there are "spare" Russians working here why are we allowing it, when their presence requires garda resources to be allocated to monitoring their activities?
They've 35 people working there. I think 4 being sent home is only the tip of the iceberg.
Not just tanks, but air support asides Ukraine has captured an example of probably just about every piece of land equipment Russia has bar a small few exceptions.
Did you watch that account i posted previously? It had a former Royal Marine detailing how in the training exercises before the invasion, the troops were selling their allocated fuel and supplies to locals with some exchanges for vodka, with the commanders taking most of the money and telling their troops to keep quiet about it, and pocketing most of the money. So they just lied about carrying out their asigned training exercises and got plastered instead.
"So they just lied"
In a nutshell, the common denominator of all the s**t shows from Russia in this war.
White overalls? Dr. Kadyrov perhaps, or plain old Dr. Evil?
I'm hearing a lot of optimism from US news today (MSNBC). It's as if something, somewhere, has shifted.
I've no idea what, maybe the battlefield trend is obviously swinging Ukraine's way, or maybe Putin has been "made aware of something" from either the "West" or his own cohorts. Perhaps he's been effectively threatened to put up or shut up, with the implications of the former choice having been made clear.
Tractor's are a priority targets now for Russian armchair military.
they should tell him to lead the way the stupid ****.
Not very reassuring when your negotiating and the other side has no idea what they want, kind of like negotiating with a 4 year old:-
Don't you worry your little head, the Garda are not the ones doing the real monitoring of these Russians no more than the guys over in Clonskeagh.
People are wondering why the Russians have so many here when they never stop to think how many the US have here.
Ireland may seem a backwater in world spy terms, but just think how many huge US multinationals have large enough operations here.
And it aint just internet and social media companies like Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Google, etc, but real tech leaders like Microsoft, Dell, Cisco, Intel, etc.
Then add in all those pharma and medical companies.
There are a lot of rich espionage targets around.
Tap up the right person and you could have an in to untold industrial riches.
Indeed. Our trade ties with Russia are now inconsequential since 2014 and this illegal invasion has finished that off for the moment. There are very few Irish in Russia. Absolutely no need for any large diplomatic mission here. A few staff is all that’s needed now and into the medium term. The situation can be reviewed in line with any major political changes if they happen
Beware: Footage shows Russian solder jumping and running from tank on fire.

My favorite bit was when Kadyrov produces a tiny glass and silver dildo that he keeps around his neck, rubs it all over Geremeyev, and makes him kiss it.
Guarantee his lads are all like, not the dick again. Always with the dick..
It ain't no dildo, likely his life size replica of his....
