As a so called foreigner yourself, if you're so passionate about the number of foreigners in the country being low, would it not make sense to leave the country yourself to reduce the number of foreigners? You are actively contributing to what you describe as making the country a "hellhole" by being here.
I do.
I’m also reticent about any referendum on euthanasia too if I’m being honest, the younger demographic will vote overwhelmingly in favour of that too 😳
Of course I know that. And I happen to have no issue with this program.
How do you think that being smug contributed to trump and brexit? Exactly?
Why so called - do you imply that I'm lying?
In any case, if the standard that was applied to me when I came here would be applied to everyone we wouldn't have this conversation. There, I've said it.
It's clear that you agree, but you also seem to apply the flawed circular logic "it's good because it's legal".
By creating a disenfranchised section of the population that feels forgotten and patronized, thus turning towards anyone that gives them any kind of attention. This is how extremists come to power, proven times and times again throughout history.
Nobody created the people that voted for brexit, other then racist Brits.
Can't comment on trump as I don't know anyone that voted for him.
And yes, if something is legal, I don't have an issue. If something is illegal, then I do.
What a spoofer!
I posted that asylum seekers in direct provision 2 years or more are getting an amnesty, bubbly replies it's lies , I link a page from the Irish times that proves it's not n then he talks about illegal immigrants here that have absolutely nothing to do with direct provision.
Comical stuff bubbly, keep em coming!
There you have it, it's the racists, of course :) Maybe, just maybe, if mainstream politicians would have not dismissed them as you do they wouldn't have turned to fringe parties and politicians. But I guess they/you will never learn.
I don't understand why you are campaigning for something while doing and living a life that is the complete opposite of what you're campaigning for.
This is the difference between you and the general public. People don't campaign against something while actively doing the thing that they are campaigning against. Does that make sense? Usually if people feel strongly about something, they don't do the opposite thing to what they feel strongly about. Do you understand how that makes you look?
I am not campaigning for or against anything.
I am against illegal immigration, bogus asylum seekers and large scale unsustainable immigration. You need to stop making this personal, my circumstances and my opinions are not in conflict, you don't know enough about me to infer that they are so you need to stop discussing how it makes me look, because that makes you look bad. Telling me that because I am a foreigner I'm not allowed to have this opinion is racist and you are not that, are you?
Merely speaking about the family and friends that I have in the UK. Voters for brexit, racist. Voters against, not racist.
Just anecdotal of course
Apologies. Yes you did say asylum seekers in your post. I was wrong. Not reading properly.
No need for personal insults however, I don't abuse anyone personally on here. It's just manners.
Is there anyone who is for illegal immigration or bogus asylum seekers or unsustainable immigration?
I haven't seen any.....
Have you no mirror? :) You said it so yourself, that you support the amnesty for the illegals and bogus asylum seekers. If you don't know, amnesty doesn't mean the illegality becomes legal, it just doesn't get punished.
Of course I understand. Perhaps you don't. The gov have decided to have an amnesty, therefore anyone who qualifies will not be an illegal immigrant. If they do not, they will still be illegal.
Still haven't seen anyone supporting any of those things.........
I'm just asking you questions based on your own logic. I never said you're not allowed to have an opinion, I'm just trying to understand why you have yours. You said there you're against large scale immigration. Considering that's what you think is happening to the country and your presence here is contributing to it, it's a fair question to ask you why you are contributing towards something that you are against?
Thankfully those in power disagree
Awesome news, cheers for the link
But that implies 52% of the UK voting public are racist, and 48% are not. I too have many friends and extended family across the UK. It's about half and half on the Brexit vote. But I wouldn't label those who voted to leave as racist.
Racist, or massively encouraged by racists spouting lies. Bit naïve perhaps.
France only down for accepting up to 100k Ukrainians
https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/some-30000-ukrainian-refugees-reach-france-2022-03-27/
How the feck would we be accepting double that?
Well I was in the UK in early 2016, the year of the vote. There was a lot of debate about EU membership, the bureaucracy of EU procedures as well as increased immigration which everyone agreed had been a nightmare across the country. In fact I don't think I've ever seen such a passionate series of debates and people took a long time to come to those decisions.
Naïve alright, but that relates to your very general throwaway comment rather than the voting intentions of the British public. Just because you disagree with it, you cannot just pander it off as a racist vote.
Well, I'm just going by personal experience, as I said, with family and friends there. Personal opinion.
And no, not everyone agreed immigration was a nightmare.
Forgoing punishment for an illegal act doesn't make it less illegal and it's usually done as a way to avoid admitting defeat and for damage control; or to actually profiteer from illegal acts, like when they do a fiscal amnesty. I don't know which one is this, maybe both.
Try to understand using the arguments I presented, I will not discuss my personal circumstances because they are not relevant.
That’s not quite what the housing minister said though. He said that France were preparing to take in 100,000 Ukrainian refugees. He didn’t put any cap on the figure, just like the UK haven’t put any cap on the figure, but they are introducing a scheme where anyone can apply to receive £350 a month if they take in a family or individuals -
The UK launched a family visa scheme for Ukrainians who have an immediate or extended family member in the UK.
As of 21 March, 12,400 UK visas had been issued.
After the UK government was criticised for the speed and scale of its response, it also launched the Homes for Ukraine scheme.
Under this, people in the UK can nominate an individual or family to stay with them rent-free for at least six months.
Refugees who come via the scheme will be able to live and work in the UK for up to three years, and access healthcare, welfare and schools.
Applications are made online, and both hosts and refugees will be vetted. Hosts will receive £350 a month and there will be no cap on the numbers able to come to the UK.

France has some form of functioning democracy and debate
Hamachi threadbanned (again)
If our dysfunctional and supposed democracy throws our wellbeing and even abilities to live fairly and fairly succeed down the river…. Just stop playing your part…
dont do a thing for the country you are of and are paying for.
scrap for each and every entitlement, facet of healthcare service and support, look after your money, assets and enable your wellbeing and that of your loved ones….
because from now, onwards we are on our own… politicians, NGOs etc… have the deck rigged against us… our wellbeing and happiness is an afterthought ….
20 years ago I was your age, finished college n working away and moved in with a few mates to a house in Drogheda. The estate agent we went to had 2 houses in the same estate, we took the one nearest the entrance as the other one was a further 5 minute walk away.
Nowadays it's unlikely any estate agent would have anymore than 1 house to rent out in all of Drogheda!
Was in the shop at the top of the estate recently n the change in demographics of those walking by was unreal.
I can't say I know any under 30s that are living together like we did n in my view that's mainly down to immigration. But, the more the merrier says you Mark, and I've no doubt there will be more!
Sounds logical to me
