Steven Spielberg's West Side Story and Jane Campion's The Power of the Dog were the standout champions on the movies side, with the former winning Best Picture (Musical or Comedy), Best Supporting Actress (Ariana DeBose), and Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical (Rachel Zegler), and the latter scoring Best Picture (Drama), Best Supporting Actor (Kodi Smit-McPhee), and Best Director for Campion's work.
I dare you say to Wesley Snipes.
Ricky Gervais, who has made jokes about kids having cancer, would have drawn the line at GI Jada??
No I said meant the full conversation.
Lots of bald men woke up today and found out they actually have an illness and it can be compared to cancer, or in the case of one poster on this thread, a man in a wheelchair. Laughable stuff altogether, and it's being said with a straight face too. Smith is a clown, a very weak man who is controlled by his scientologist psycho wife.
mentally unbalanced does mean mental illness.
what a silly thing to post.
you know the same could be said of you for this post. Why are so aggressive about it?
At award ceremonies probably. The hosts generally only make jokes about the stars and I don't think Jada is one 😁 probably the first time in a while that Ukraine is not making the main headlines and host reignited interest in the Oscars.
It's here and I liiiiike it!
Why are you swearing at me?
Your post is ignorant
Maybe you should educate yourself, before making glib little jIbes:
that has nothing to do with I posted.
however, what point are you trying to make?
Alopecia is just not going bald it is can be losing all your hair everywhere and can be emotional for the person I know quiet a few and can be caused by a range of reasons and at any age. Now I am not saying it is the same as a cancer but not laughable in anyway when you are doing a joke about a particular persons appearance. Quiet a few comedians do general jokes (Jimmy Carr) and for the most time nothing is said about them
He is an actor, its what actors do, laugh at poor jokes.
Its only afterwards he realised that it was a nasty joke.
I mean an oscar after thread on boards normally does not get over 10 pages I say
How was i aggressive? Your trying to claim will smith didn't act mentally unstable last night? I think I may be conversing with a lunatic.
Oh nos, a black guy winked at you! Call the police! It's not safe here!!!
As a female, people are often judged for how they look. Hair is a huge part of self-identity. When that person starts to go thin on top, particularly when that person is young, people do treat them differently. They are seen as damaged. The person that I know did not want to leave the house. She was so ashamed of how she looked. She was upset because she felt that she would not be eligible dating material anymore.
Again, I do not condone the violence
Nothing could bore me quicker than reading that nonsense. I couldn't care less about Alopecia if I tried to and having to hear people knock on about it like it's some sort of life destroying illness is an insult to actual illnesses that have a fatality rate. Assaulting someone over a joke is the action of a weak man. His wife is an absolute weapon.

Sorry that alopecia areata doesn’t fit in your narrow definition of illness, but it can be life-destroying.
You cannot judge something that you have no experience of.
Here is a study identifying 12.6% of study respondents who suffer with alopecia as being at risk of suicide.
It is a really tough thing for people to suffer through
It is a **** thing for any person to go through.
It is hard for people when they are treated differently
Ah right, did he tell you anything else when you were talking to him?? Or can you just read minds??
Will Smith should be stripped of his Oscar award. It was a tasteless joke absolutely, but Smith behaving like a thug at an awards ceremony should not be accepted.
This should be addressed quickly.
If they have not stripped anyone else of one Will Smith would not be stripped
The whole “Christ Jesus” blah blah and now calling me a lunatic.
maybe aggressive is the wrong word. You are certainly emotional about it.
And no Will Smith was not mentally unstable last night. He lost his temper (or maybe pretended to) and feebly slapped a guy and then shouted profanity.
Anyone who seriously things this is a mental illness needs an education on the topic. I have to wonder have people saying this ever been outside?
You’ve clearly never encountered a thug before.
Alopecia is real for a lot of people and can effect them quiet badly mentally. What is your hierarchy of illnesses that we should only talk about and the others should just know there role. I have friends that have many different illnesses or disease. Each with there own problems you don't have to stay here a listen to it you know
As someone who isn't entirely convinced this wasn't contrived at some point, can I ask you - if it had been a female comic that made the joke and Smith barely tapped her as you say, marking some clear difference between that and a slap, would it matter?
You are doing the same
You claimed to know what Rock was thinking and what was going through Smith’s mind as the comment was being made.
It’s only March, but this should be in the running for a prize at the end of year awards.
My heart isn't exactly bleeding for an attention whore like Jada Pinkett Smith getting a softball jab aimed at her as she sits at an oscar ceremony. I think that the fact that she has made her alopecia such a public issue, means that she should expect that other people will mention it. It wasn't even a derogatory remark. It was a **** joke but it would be a stretch to call it an insult.
