Political naivety at it's best, what TD is going to say they are looking at ways of knifing the leader in the back?
If they went out and done it the press would be all over it already.
Strange you have such an issue with Leo suggesting it but no problem with a party doing implementing the plan and doing it across all media.
No the polls haven't FG was kicking the ass of everyone for months. Then it swapped because people got pi**ed off with the virus.
We also had FF was dead in the water and they slowly have gained back.
Nice little graph here. The last election was a revolt vote and everyone know it. Poll are a subsection of the population and in reality based on anyone I have known in my life every getting asked it seems they have a little section they go around every time.
Again linking the same article which has no TD's names. Get an article with an actual TD

Let them be?
They arent facing a collaspe,i think over 28/29 is too big for any party tbh
That is lunacy thinking, labeling it a revolt election, when almost every poll since was continued the trend shown in.that election has been continued
Ffg are down 8% since, what are you basing your view on,other than some really dated cliches, which dont stand upto scrutiny
FG members breaking ranks and speaking sense

You keep forgetting the last election was a revolt election. So a lot of TD's got in just by the fact they didn't run under FF or FG with people just ticking names. Difference is the Greens stood up when it counted and a lot of people are aware of that.
Will next election be a revolt vote? it doesn't seem that will happen so I wouldn't be banking on anything
We are supposed to forget about that 😂
Not a single name of a TD on the article, says it all really. It is funny that the Examiner seems to suddenly get all of these articles and comments yet NEVER has the name of a TD or a person in any party to back it up.
🤔 must have excellent journalist to get the quote but not that excellent to get a name of a TD🤐
Even I don't think they are so arrogant to be ignoring these figures. Leo faces an uphill battle to be Taoiseach, there's a target for a knife on his back. Wouldn't it be ironic if it was a selective leak of fatally damaging?
Sinn Fein are stagnant in the polls. I’m sure that they’re worrying!
I wonder who the FG TDs are who don't seem happy.
Anyone that would do enough to suggest it...
I wouldn't doubt for a second he went through with it. We'll likely either never find out, or at the least not for a few years. But I wouldn't believe that he didn't with the amount he was paying for spin and the rest. Multiple anonymous accounts would be nothing.

Fg at lowest level since 2005. I've said it here for years, I couldnt believe how their support was holding up so well. Their voters paying extortionate housing cost and the outrageous marginal tax rate on a pittance. They should have remembered who voted for them, who they gave betrayed. To bend over backwards for those that despise them and will never vote for them!!!
What ever the reasons or otherwise, the %s are the same for ff in particular, they are sailing close to the wind and are risking a collaspe of their parlimentry party....burying head in the sand, and being shocked when ballot boxes open is poor poor leadership
Varadkar regularly struggles in leadership approval polling, this is simply blind hopium, where will it be if in 12 to 18 months they still same in polls,or worse,if he refuses to bring in the 30% taxband?
The greens may be strong in their core vote, but the transfers which got em elected will simply not be there next time out though??
How will ocaisigh get in,if he loses 66% of the transfers he got off cullinane, its simply unfathomablely naive to honestly think he will walk in,(and tbf he is one of their better performers)
Any comment on the absolute abdication of the government on dealing with this blanch?
They stood and told the electorate they would sort it and implement the recommendations.
It's not really surprising the arse is falling out of FG support. People are not fooled by the attempts to look over there.
You didn’t spell anything out, you quoted stuff, not a single idea or opinion of your own, just regurgitation.
No the party you mentioned collapsed in the local elections because they turned into a total disaster but can be discussed in detail on that thread
I doubt anyone in FF is majorly concerned, still a lot of time left till next election and a change of leader due which will reignite the party and supporters.
FG will hope Leo as Taoiseach will bring back supporters
The Green are still strong in the people that voted for them, the vitriol thrown as them by some is hilarious but constantly proves the smaller party in government always gets the blame.
Suggested….huge difference between a suggestion and actually doing it
A now seriously, the Greens going to get stronger 😳 , I'm actually lost of words (you'll be happy to hear ) 😁
They were ringing,and rightly so
They at 16% now and will struggle to return 2nd and deffo 3rd seats across the state if they drop any further
If alarm bells arent ringing, either their internal polling has malfunctioned or their back benchs and leadership arent communicating.....
it was similar figures saw sf collaspe in local/euro elections and required an EGM,which mcdonald has held to account by party membership.....a bottom up management dismissed by ffg
That bloke ego is out of control, like id be no fan of kate oconnell politics, but she is clearly talented and a reasonable media performer and woman who would get things done
Who would have likely won that election imo
Iirc he couldnt abide coveney getting kudos over brexit, and went for a walkabout with boris johnson in england, got enamoured and opened the door and hence how we ended up with a protocol inplac of a backstop, and now have the uvf running riot this week
Did we not get told alarm bells are ringing when FF was way down? Seems a lot of people crying wolf apart from the actual parties involved
Didn't Leo suggest running multiple accounts and having shills etc. everywhere? So no idea who you are supposed to be preaching to there.
I wouldn't be a fan of hers in any stretch of imagination, and maybe I could have worded it better, but my point was she got in, and will as Labour leader be more prominent, likely appearing everywhere. Leo opened that door for her and gave her the seat.
Something like 6 of the green tds are there off massive sf transfers (66% for ocaisigh)....will they be still standing for transfers for less seats, assuming sf run extra canditidates
)like blind optimism is admirable, but what are you basing it on?
It all sounds great on the internet, but the one person behind 30 accounts only gets 1 vote. Then it all comes crumbling down.
Seeing as the likes of Clay Bowes etc have all been caught running multiple accounts it’s starting to get majorly embarrassing for certain parties
Also the same group couldn’t manage ti get any parties to agree with each other and still to this day don’t, I don’t see how anyone would think they suddenly will
P.S the Greens are only going to get stronger
Bacik with her inability to condemn what they done to the poorest in the country when last in government,is going to follow her around like a bad smell
Even the IMF admits the social cost of austrity was too high,sf called it right at the time
Lolz
Alarm bells surely ringing within both fg and ff by now
They thrown the kitchen sink at the shinners and launched all sorts of attempts to set the narrative (this messing about over nato),talks of slashing income tax.......but the percentages simply arent returning as quickly or as much as necessary to settle backbenchs
They have slowed the rot and losses to sf,but they are now losing to likes of soc dems etc,if they go after these smaller parties with same vicious, vindictness as sf,people will see em for the bullies they are and formally remove any prospect of putting together a coalition for a generation
A few chickens coming home to roost over their utterly toxic, arrogant carryon over last few years
Bacik looks after the wealthier constituents, unliked by anyone I know out there (including a few with very successful businesses).
Yet she won the by-election. Kate O'Connell would have wiped the floor with her, keeping FG in. Leo handed that victory to Bacik.
I think there are some who Niavely think Ivana Bacik will come to the rescue, they are sadly mistaken, she reminds me of Marmite, Liked and disliked in equal measure. No doubting her Legal expertise and work on numerous issues but the damage is done and now it appears a lot of anger within Labour Party grass roots. They are done and good riddance I say 😏
