2 or 3 changes would just be a matter of opinion between you and Horan,Id say he's better placed.Id probably make 1 or 2 changes myself but neither of us are in possession of the full picture.
Currently I wouldn't be confident of beating Galway,I don't think Horan wants to be starting Aido for example but needs must,we are nowhere near the luxury of springing him from the bench.
There's not many teams that could lose so many starters (Robbie and DOC) being the latest and still compete at the same level.
That's my point though - from the players available, I don't think that Horan is starting what would be the strongest team in his opinion. I think he's still experimenting and giving fringe players game time that he wouldn't be doing if he was going all out to win this match
I don't know the state of the injuries to DOC and Robbie Hennelly. Are they short term? Expected back for Galway game?
Obviously, injuries are not ideal, but the little break might be a blessing in disguise for DOC.
Rob has a knee injury and he's out for 4 - 6 weeks.
That would make Aido’s selection at 6 logical then.
Fair play to the team at MacHale Park. It's looking well there.
Why is that?
Used it not spell out Albany on the town end terrace?
Looking well, not easy given the weather we've had up to this
Byrne doesn’t have Hennelly’s range when it comes to kickouts
Don't think that's a reason for O'Shea to be in the half back line. Keegan, O'Hora, Mullin and Coen would all be comfortable taking a short kickout off Byrne and bringing the ball forward.
The only purpose I can see is if we're really pushing up on the opposition kickout. Having O'Shea at 6 would make them reluctant to go long and force them into a risky short one. However, we never really tried that vs Tyrone.
Anyone know if there are tickets still on sale? Gaa.ie ticket section is down
I feel bad for AOS but he just doesn't have the pace to trouble teams anymore. He should not be starting imo and more an impact in the last 10 minutes when the opposition team have been playing a good hour and he can deliver in that 10 minute window.
It is grand having him there the next day but he should be nowhere near the half back line against Galway, otherwise we will be in bother!!
Would agree with that. I thought coming on as a midfield sub 5 or 10 minutes into the 2nd half would suit him perfectly this year. However, Flynn and Ruane are 2 of our best performers currently so that may not be possible either!
If you click on "all games" it should work on GAA.ie
They power washed the concrete seating a couple of weeks ago. A sign that the pitch will be ready for galway.
Harrison stretchered off within 5 minutes of starting? The injury stuff going on at the moment is insane.
I’m believing in the curse now
TG4 doing a decent effort at Goal Zone type updates
Sounds like a great game
a heavy price paid so far though
Diarmuid gone off injured now
No idea why he was risked
Lovely point by Carney there.... he's probably the best prospect out of this league campaign imho
He sure is
We badly need someone like him to keep kicking on as he has a longer range for score taking
Diarmuid asked to be taken off, I'm told. Probably not fully fit.
That’s what I’m worried about
He had a hamstring
I assume he felt it again
No need to play him today if not 100%
I agree. You'd wonder why he was played. Maybe there was some pressure to field a strong team after the commentary on last week's selection but it's more important to get players right before championship.
I’d be subbing Ryan O D at the earliest possible opportunity today before disaster strikes
Great win
Apparently league final tickets no longer included with season tickets
Very enjoyable game anyway despite the injuries.
Plenty of wides though and you'd really be thinking we'd have to be putting away more of those goal chances if we want to be in with a shout in the final.
To think there was sone poster on here few weeks ago stating that Ryan o donoghue was a bad player. Think it was a Galway poster. No doubt his head is hung in shame.
Stick a label on this and just call it Championship! Be great to have something like this as the main showcase.
Well done to TG4
Final not confirmed for Sunday, i wonder when that will be announced
