I've seen the same number of shots from Power as Noren who's practicing
Yes. The coverage is pretty bizarre. I presume there’s some logic behind it, but I sure as hell can’t figure it out.
Looks like Fitzpatrick is going to get a good beating off Scheffler and then face him in a play-off to see who progresses.
Brooks Koepka looks in ominously strong form ahead of the Masters in two weeks time. Looking most impressive early doors v Lowry in the match-play at Texas and has a 2-0 record so far this week. Him, Jon Rahm and Cameron Smith are the three men that I like the strongest ahead of Augusta National which starts in thirteen days time.
If it was head to head scheff would be through but fitz can take a hammering and just need to win a hole in the play off. I don’t like the format
I'd really like if they showed the players' approximate strokeplay score every now and then, think it'd be really interesting.
Apparently Kisner has 4 birdies and an eagle in his first 6 holes and is 3up on JT, he's unreal on this course
Really hope Bland gets through his group, just needs to hold on vs Westwood
Great putt to win it, delighted for him, although I think he has DJ next round!
Kisner seven under thru 10. Thomas 3 under thru 10 but 4 down, albeit he has won the 10th hole to close Kisner's lead to 4 down.
Some amount of putts had slid by, so was great to get that one. Tough task, and he may need to win to get a Masters spot
I think they should make the Tour Championship a matchplay tournament, take the top 16 instead of the top 30 and have a straight knockout for the FedEx cup, that way it'd be the playoffs in the true sense of the word.
Koepka v Rahm in tomorrow's last sixteen match in the match-play will be a very good match to watch. Could be a cracker!
And the winner probably plays Dustin !
Great idea, or even make it the top 8 and play each match over 36 holes to make if fairer and more likely that the better man wins. Would be a real scramble to make the final 8.
I'd love to see it anyway!
I'd love to see Bland win tomorrow and get into the Masters, would be a great story.
I think DJ might obliterate him though.
Does DJ have graphite shafts in his wedges?!
The shaft looked very dark there, would be very surprising if he did, maybe it was the sun of the finish on the shaft.
Ancer be able to get a nap before the next match, hammering Morikawa.
Not looking good for Bland unfortunately, great run by him.
Kisner just moved a couple of leaves out from behind his ball in the bunker, then proceeded to make a 30 footer for a half. Is that not a penalty? It certainly used to be.
Edit; looks like rule changed in 2019
At one point Dustin was five down ! 4 holes in a row he has won
This Scheffler guy is good
Matsuyama withdrew in Texas - not in great form going into masters next week
Great chance for Lowry tomorrow, he's been playing so well.
If he finishes above Cantlay he wins I think.
Presume Varner will crumble although he's being coached by Butch now so it'll be interesting to see how he gets on.
Why do you think he’ll crumble? He won in Saudi this year
Saudi aside, his record when near the top of leaderboards is fairly dreadful. I don't have the stats but I remember him shooting 80+ on a few occasions when in and around the lead. He also topped his tee shot when he lead the Genesis during the final round a couple of years ago, I remember Sky calling it one of the worst shots they've seen from a pro.
I would tend to agree with you that the likelihood for HV III to blow up is quite high. But in fairness to him, he's playing the best golf of his career, and that 80+ was in the final round of a major at Bethpage.
He's yet to win on the PGA Tour and while the Saudi win will give him confidence, it's still a pretty big monkey to get off your back.
Hopefully he doesn't put up too much resistance to a Shane charge anyway!
Shame about Lowry's birdie putt on 17.
Hopefully Spieth wins the playoff
Glad Speith won that play off. I can't warm to Cantlay even though he is a very good player. Good to see Jordan back winning again.
Agreed about Cantlay.. love the way he pauses to warmly embrace and convey his heart-felt congratulations to the winner when he loses in play-off.. Spieth here.. Scheffler a few weeks ago.
I am not a fan of this weeks tournament in New Orleans - a team event .
