Hahahhahahahahahahahaha.
Cloud fcuking cuckoo land.
It's ok if the West has bought lots of Roubles and stockpiled them. If not it is supply and demand thing, depends on how many Roubles are kicking around and what the demand for them will be. I suppose if demand got too high they could always print a few hundred billion dollars worth easy enough.
its comical -
BREAKING@ Russia to demand ALASKA back from the US
I actually wouldnt be surprised at this stage
Thank you greenoilot
I always enjoy your posts.
There certainly is a marked uptick in this activity.
Flightradar is very interesting at the moment..
strong statement from NATO. Laying the cards on the table..
Cheers, we live in interesting times, if it wasn't for the gravity of the situation.
The Russians/Soviets have long done this sorta thing. Flailing about with all sorts of accusations, claims and threats to see which one sthe West takes seriously, the ones it ignores, the ones it laughs at and the ones it pushes back over. Usually spouted by underlings of the czar of the time.
There does seem to be quite a level of stating the bleeding obvious on this question on both sides but I suppose they want it on record anyway.
this seems to be a reasonable analysis - few days old though
Why don’t the useless cnuts actually do something useful and spend an afternoon removing their despotic president ?
But if this is Irelands (And UK's) only other bid competition, we'd still probable loss it to Russia........😯
And even worse..........
Based on highly "weighted" Security portion of the bid!!!! (Just like the Rugby bid) ☺️
🤑🤑🤑
Of course. His speech is not for our ears, but for the Kremlins. He's basically saying to Putin, these are the consequences of your actions. NATO is ready.
The babies will starve.
Strange that Moldova wasn't mentioned but Georgia (obvious enough) and Bosnia which seems like a stretch. Obviously NATO know more than I but the Balkans is a pipe dream for the Russians at the minute.
Calling China out too.
Our crap stadia cost us the chance of hosting the rugby World Cup, all bids got the same rating on security.
The Balkans is still ready to go at the drop of a hat and another conflict for Europe to have to deal with would suit the Russians nicely. They don't care about ethnic cleansing, they're doing it themselves now and if it's Bosniaks wiping out Serbs or vice versa they don't really care. They just like having their finger in pies while claiming to be starving.
Yoink
Bloody hell. No backing off evident there. And he name checked the Chinese and was pointed about their interference and obliquely Taiwan. If putin wanted less NATO involvement as an excuse to invade Ukraine he's only gone and made it much much worse for him and Russia. He's strengthened NATO, the EU and the Western world in a way we've not seen before, even in the Cold War.
Though there's a part of me always tries to look behind the curtain of the obvious and it's also possible the same putin wanted this and planned for this(though I really doubt he saw the pushback coming to this degree). That his warnings to his people about NATO and the West were right, that they are All Out To Get Us. Maybe because he sniffed the wind locally and sensed he wasn't as relevant to the Russian people any more and this was a way to get that relevance back under the pretext of the common enemy of us all and rally the Russian people behind him again. After all he cares bugger all personally about sanctions. He won't go short of sugar any time soon.
This guy Ward Carroll seems decent for anyone following the Military situation. Im going through his videos ATM, and thus far - highly recommend them
The issue Germany has with Russian gas is it looks like it provides a lot of their home heating. Not so easy to cut off the supply for that
Poland is kicking out 45 Russian diplomats. Over 105k Ukrainian kids are attending schools on Poland. EU funds for refugees are going up 10 fold to 10bln euro (short scale bln, 10e9)
What are we going to do about Aughinish Alumina?
Seems on the one hand we're doing great stuff with humanitarian aid, accepting and supporting refugees, but on the other we're not going doing very much about a Russian owned plant that is producing materials likely to be, even if though no fault of the plant itself, end up being used as raw materials in weapons production and supporting this conflict.
The Ukrainian Ambassador asked about shutting it and got nowhere.
Obviously there are jobs involved, but can we not temporarily nationalise it and sell it or something?
It seems a rather hypocritical position that we would be hosting a plant where materials could well be supporting the Russian war effort and where taxes and income are flowing back to Russia.
Russia has nationalised 152 Irish owned aircraft worth at least €2.29bn, yet it seems we can't say boo about Aughinish Alumina.

It looks to me like it's one of those issues where we need to act, but instead have opted to pretend it's a non-issue.
Wonder if they are feeling depressed and went off on a one way trip off balcony avenue
Seems to Alot of US troops arriving close to the polish /Belarusian border , with armoured vehicles and strikers
British & Dutch gas up 15% for spot prices and 16% for Q2 prices today.
Sure but they need to get their ducks in a row and it cannot be done overnight. As it states here -
To start with, substituting Russian imports of oil and coal will likely not pose a major problem. Sufficient world market capacity exists from other oil and coal exporting countries to make up the shortfall. The greater challenge is to find short-run substitutes for Russian gas, which accounts for about 15% of Germany’s total energy consumption.
