Tbh, at this stage, Id be in favour of a mass boycott of the TV licence fee. The absolute cheek of them last night to have a show like that on prime time tv where there was little to no balance or objectivity to the arguments presented. Anyone who has lived outside a few posh south Dublin suburbs for a few years knows all about travellers in this country. They have been given chance after chance in this country & instead of sorting themselves out as a people, it looks like things are getting worse.
Im not really surprised with travellers to be honest, Ive come to expect this from them but RTE really are gone beyond a joke at this stage. Their sheer contempt for the middle & working class people of Ireland knows no bounds. Not only are they a completely dysfunctional organisation & spending way beyond their means, they feel fit to regularly lecture the people about moral & ethical issues who pay their overinflated wages.
How about they deal with this ethical issue first before they start lecturing anyone. STOP leeching off the ordinary citizens of this country like a parasite & head over to the UK if you think you'll do better there.

I think the vetting for a prospective member of the Garda goes deeper than that. It may flag associations or relationships with convicted criminals gang land etc.
When we were in secondary school we did careers and I'm fairly sure we were told that if you or your family had dealings with the Gardaì there wasn't any point of applying!
