Does anyone know if the park4less will open soon?
The long term carpark is looking nearly full now. So great to see. Havent seen it that full in a long time!
Lots of USAF flights taking off recently. Any way to know when they are taking off or landing in advance?
You could try this flight radar link
It lists SNN departures and arrivals and sometimes lists them. Recently they haven’t been listed though.
Wait til you see the one coming this week.......
Do you know when its in?
I have seen it reported elsewhere that AF1 is due in.
All the Eu meetings are on near the end of week
Keep your weekend free
thought that would be Top Secret....no?
Might well be, don't know. There was a large transport yesterday afternoon, a galaxy I think? As well as a star spangled 757. Busy afternoon.
C17 left yesterday afternoon, there should be more this week.
A strong possibility of a c5 galaxy also.
Clare Echo reporting Pádraig ó Céidigh has stepped down from chairman role
Getting ready for the impending world War?😬
That was quick. You’d wonder why. Back to the drawing board again to find one
Very disappointing, seemed as good a fit as possible.
Purely a guess, I think he made sounds that role should be full-time, between that and the minister not being a huge aviation fan id guess there were some frustrations. I'm sure it will all come out in wash!
Nice to here the Antonov 124 flying out a while ago.
Maybe a full clear out of the current Mgmt up in SNN is needed.
This doesnt sound good.
More direct reasoning here. I can see the board toughing this out with some decent news around the airport at the moment.
Really disappointing to see someone of Pádraigs calibre walk away.
Its very dissapointing. The mgmt in Shannon now arent going to be well liked after this. None of them have Aviation experience and are there years.
Hopefully the position can be filled ASAP and O ceidigh can still be in the mix. The Shannon Group need a good shake. Personally i think a fresh mgmt for the Airport would be good and leave the current mgmt look after the property side of the group.
Thats always the way sure. look @ when Pakie was there, he got rid of as well cause he had differences with mgmt & Co****t t**t rose hynes. Unless u are a yes man u will always be got rid off.Mgmt dont like you having your own opinion.
The new Chair has been announced already. Conal Henry.
Mr Conal Henry has held senior management positions including Founder and Chair of Fibrus Networks since 2018 and Chief Executive Officer of e|net (NBI) from 2006 to 2018. He was also Commercial Director at Ryanair and served on the Board of Shannon Foynes Port Company. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and holds a law degree from Queen’s University Belfast.
.... more a 'pro-Ryanair' appointment than maybe O'Ceidigh was?? So- will fit in perfectly
It seems a reasonable appointment. Ill be surprised if he has a huge impact but it does seem like a good appointment.
Taking Bets now how long do u give him before he leaves ??😉😂😂
😂😂 I hope its a bit longer than Padraig O Ceidigh.
Hope hes able to be strong against the powers that be and make good changes and growth to Shannon
I see Knock announced 140 flights per week (including Travel agents) scheduled for summer. I was confused reading it but it turns out its flights not departures.
Shannon have said min of 108 scheduled flights, any idea what would be their comparative number to Knocks 140.
Will any opportunities come to Shannon based on the DAA security turmoil ?
I was confused reading that two. I read aswell in another article SNN has 108 weekly departures. I would think SNN has more than NOC anyway because it has 28 routes including high frequency LHR and daily JFK and BOS.The departure boards at the moment show SNN has more as well.
Hopefully DAA turmoil, will encourage more people to try fly SNN if theres options available.
UA sent the 767 to SNN today which was good to see.
Hopefully the maddness in dublin airport will make people consider the regional airports.
I think to move people away from Dublin, there needs to be a wider choice of destinations. Shannon is fairly well covered for sun/beach but other than that there's not a lot of choice. My last few summer hols have been to destinations not offered out of Shannon.
I agree with you there.
Credit to SNN though for adding Malta, Corfu, Gran Canaria, Girona and Marseille. Provides us with somemore choice.
Each flight is an arrival and a departure so Shannon's 108 scheduled flights will have a grand total of 216 flights using the same logic.
Lies, dam lies and statistics😁
