There's plenty of towns in Dublin that from time to time bus drivers will refuse to drive in to and serve if there's anti social behaviour like throwing rocks at bus windows or physical attacks on drivers. What usually gets the services back up and running is locals weeding out these thugs, the traveller community needs to do the same, nobody should have to feel unsafe doing a days work to put food on the table.
No one seems to question where they get all their money considering most don't work.
The real victim here is the RTE licence fee payer....

I recall a certain high profile man of alleged crime who drove his large taxi one evening to drop off a fare to a halting site on Dublin's northside and one of the windows was smashed in the process, the story goes that the next day the money to fix the window was dropped to his house, he had a certain respect you could say.

Hate crime? Tell me about traveller crime ffs.
Travellers should be rightly be proud of their TRADITIONAL culture and positive role models in their community like Eileen Flynn.
But they also need to deal with modern criminal culture and negative role models that have swamped and overpowered that traditional culture.
So far not one has even mentioned the rampant criminality problem in their community. My bet is the panel members tonight won't call out and condem those elements because they are terrified of the criminal godfathers who have seized real power in their community.
