A cold start to Spring with widespread frost. -4c atm at Mount Dillion.
So not warmer than Gran Canaria either?
Dismal day in East Cork, 10 degrees, slate grey skies and a nagging cold wind
Boring apparently 😂
Why would anyone not be happy with high pressure!!
Lovely March morning here in Kildare, I know most here won't be happy with the high pressure but I'm loving it, roll on the long evenings next week.
I see the mini heatwave continues unabated this morning. Warmer than Gran Canaria was one of the headlines the tabloids posted last week…..and yes I’m being sarcastic it’s actually raining here in Waterford this morning and quite breezy.
It was cool enough when I was down in Cork earlier today , milder in the afternoon when the cloud opened up a bit to give some milky sunshine, milder in Kerry but quite breezy late afternoon, too cool to sit out early evening but grand all the same for the time of the year.
16c here in Sligo today. Tomorrow might get 17c. Midlands might get 18c Thursday though cloudier in NW that day so 15c probably. End of month looks cold. Nuisance weather of about 7c and cold rain or hail.
A decent day in Meath, nicer than yesterday with more sunshine and it was feeling fairly mild earlier however it is starting to feel quite cool now in the late evening. The next 5 to 6 days will be milder again with temperatures possibly reaching 16 or 17C.
This weather reminds me of March 2003 (not 2012 which had the low 20s temps).
From 10 March or so 2003 had lovely 14-18C days. Very calm generally. April was lovely too until it broke around the last week.
Beautiful day here in Meath again! A few passing clouds but generally blue sky and feeling warm in the Sun, just lovely 😊
A month is along time in weather so no way of knowing what the weather will be like in Spain during Easter. It usually doesn't stay unsettled for weeks on end over Spain like it does in this part of Europe. The further south you go the better chance you'll have of decent easter weather but even then it is not guaranteed as Spain can get thundery showers at any time of the year with April a higher chance of showery conditions compared to the summer months. Temperatures are usually not that warm until about May so high teens to low 20s would be a good bet for April with mid to high 20s possible the odd day if Spain gets heat up from Africa. Night time isn't that warm during April so bring a few jumpers for the evenings.
Not sure where to post this but due to go to Spain over Easter. I know its still almost 4 weeks away but the weather in both Spain and Portugal is very wet and cool at the moment so am wondering will this change anytime soon?!
Tomorrow may not be as sunny as predicted. A lot of stubborn cloud building so 11 or 12c in most places maybe 15c in prolonged sun in East
Another beautiful day in NCD. There was a chilly breeze but still beautiful for March.
The rest of week looks fab.
It really is like the lockdown of 2 years ago all over ago, once we don't actually get the lockdown back!
Pleasant day in Kerry, bright and breezy, jacket off working around the place earlier today but feeling cooler later in the afternoon in a stiff breeze.
Clouded over 2 hours ago, a chilly afternoon now and heating back on.
Always a greater chance of a White Easter than a White Christmas in these parts 🙄
How come every time we get good weather Sunday is the shttest day.
Sunny Friday Saturday Shtt Sunday Sunny Monday onwards
another lovely day in Meath altho it certianly isn't warm with temperature currently of only 8C. Tomorrow will be similar to today but from Tuesday it should become milder with the second half of this week into next weekend with tempertures possibly reaching 16 to 18C at times. After that it looks like winter may happen for the first week of April.
There was some rain earlier near Ardagh, County Longford. Overcast since first thing. Winds are light and it feels mild enough.
Cold and overcast in the sunny south east. Been spitting rain on and off too.
Where ? Gin blue skies here in sw Dublin dis morning
And lashing rain this morning. Good old unreliable Ireland
On this day 20th March in 1986 Malin Head,Co. Donegal recorded the highest gust of 167 km/h for the month of March. ( Met Eireann)
Looks like there's some Saharan dust over ireland this weekend.
The full moon out definitely does look like it has a yellower tint than normal, should make for a nice sunrise in the morning.
fortunately the southeast winds will bring warmth to the sun for much of the coming week, this is whats great about easterlies/south-easterlies . If only we could get these high pressure spells with light south-easterly winds right through the summer.
The wind in Dublin is doing my head in. Not nice walking in it despite the sun and gin blue sky.
Unfortunately cool winds will take any warmth out of the sun for much of the coming week, this is the problem with easterlies/south-easterlies until June. If only we could get these high pressure spells with light south-westerly winds it would feel significantly warmer.
