If Ukraine had of capitulated after a few days then possibly but not now. Look at what Russia has lost so far, imagine if this drags on for another few months. Like soldiers they can replace faster then vehicles, there loosing so much they won't be able to. Plus if Ukraine does fall tons and tons of weapons will be given to the Finnish and Moldova. I would of said Moldova for sure if Ukraine had of been out of the fight after a few days and not much losses on Russian side, but that didn't happen. Finland I say thats a long off pipe dream for any Russian invasion.
They realise. They just don't care. Straight out of the I'm alright Jack brigade. And if war came to our shores you wouldn't see them for dust. High tailing it to south America with their tail between their legs so they can assess the war from the safety of an Internet cafe in Buenos aires is the most likely course of action.
Biden's son died in Maryland.
For a tidy fee I bet.
No, they can still lose as well as win.
Savagery is their only winning option.
In your scenario do you think the average Ukrainian would give much of a ****? Like it or not, the reality is that it's over there, not here. When it comes down to it politicians are to act in the best interests of their people and for the last while I've really enjoyed that feeling. It's the first time in quite a while it's been the case for me in the West.
Also, I really don't think people realise what neutrality means. If the Russians actually were a super power and invaded Ireland to get to the UK and looked like any threat there wouldn't be a port, harbour or jetty left on the Eastern Seaboard of the country within days and any airstrip anyone in the UK military had ever heard of would be cratered. The Brits will fight for themselves. That tends to lead to some protection for us in some ways but make no mistake, they'd be defending themselves.
Russians in Finland are a tiny minority. Well, the ones who actually lived there, I mean. There have obviously been Russians heading across that border since the last few weeks to escape Russia. It would be interesting mental gymnastics, if nothing else, from Putin to try and justify an invasion on the basis of protecting people who actively wanted to get away from him and the country as it exists under him.
What is the purpose then? i also dont think your examples are the same as what's being done in the Ukraine, to flip the script for you... would you be ok with putin taking more non NATO countries and for NATO to stay out of it? how would you feel say if he decided he liked Ireland and bombed it into dust we arent in NATO either should they stand by and watch it happen?
If some of the clips I've seen on twitter are correct it looks like they are bringing vehicles that were mothballed out of retirement. Can't wait to see them raiding the museum's for T34s.
Lavrov talking that other day about it being a uni-polar world shows a certain entitlement in Russian thinking. It also shows a plain denial about their place in the world. Firstly, the world is not 'uni-polar'. It may only seem that way to a Russian who cannot comprehend one of the poles not being Russia. Clearly, the other pole in the world is China and has been for quite some time. It is they who will dominate the east, not Russia.
That’s the type of rumour that is spread among troops to make them feel more inclined to attack innocent civilians when ordered
Thats the best example of an autocorrect / hangover typo I've see on boards. 🙃
That's exactly why you won't be seeing Russia invading Finland and Poland etc. They just don't have the military muscle to do so. They did but that's now getting left behind in Ukraine.
I agree this war stands out as more unjust than the other examples I gave, because here we have a completely innocent side being invaded. This kind of war is pretty rare. From what we've seen, I don't think the Russians will be capable of taking on any other countries. The best we can do is keep supporting Ukraine as we have done.
The question then is, what if we end up talking about some sort of mass killing verging on genocidal. In that case I think I'd either change my mind and support intervention, or at least supply Ukraine with game changing weapons. Jets, top drones etc.
Maybe they keep better stuff and more experienced army for NATO?
Iran using the Ukraine distraction to attack Saudi. Struck last night and then again today
Exactly. To me it’s a written off society and state. Well past the time to cut them lose, they can have a version of North Korea if that’s what they want. Once every other freedom countries security, energy needs are secure that’s all that matters now.
Given the selection below pretty much sums up the kind of reporting you can expect from that site i.e. Fox news on steroids, is there any reputable sources carrying this story or any evidence to back it up?
Just wondering if this is coming from the same cabal that brought us "the Texas power cuts were caused by renewables".
I’m sorry but wtf. I’d expect a military commander to look fit, dynamic- someone you might look up to and follow. This is another overweight Russian pig clearly with his snout in the trough. Like Animal farm, no wonder so many of them are getting their just desserts.
Maybe Sinn Fein would bring some of their old soldiers out of retirement to save the day.
DaCor thinks we can power our countries and industries from renewables. DaCor is wrong. No nuclear means fossil fuels. And yes, that Texas energy crisis was connected to renewables.
French specialist on Russia, Alexandre Adler in an interview with RMF FM (polish radio station) said that Vladimir Putin has Parkinson's disease, and that his immediate surroundings will remove him from power by July.
- Putin has the best doctors, takes about 10 drugs a day, and when he shows up in public, you don't see he's sick. His hands aren't shaking at all. But there are mental changes - said Adler in an interview with RMF FM.
The Americans believe that information about Putin's illness is a leak controlled by the dictator's immediate circle. According to Adler, Putin knows that his associates want to remove him from power.
I agree. It won't be that bad. Currency has stabilised as well. EU still paying billions a month for energy from Russia. But hey, we kicked them out of Eurovision, I'm sure that keeps Putin awake at night
Clown show from the Ruskies
You don't think it's fair to ask of those that think soldiers should go to war won't put their own body on the line? Genuinely don't understand it. Bone spurs? Seeing as pejorative are where we are going.
At least one poster said they would.
Maybe he was ordered to do it and had no choice
Just because you think it's waffle is irrelevant.
It's what the West are doing/will do.
The sanctions are having an effect. Russia is largely isolated and can't get volunteers for their badly under funded army.
Can you link a post where you said you think NATO should intervene in the Tigray war?
or, is that different for some reason?
And I haven't finished yet.
I need to get this off my chest.
The sheer audacity of any country to call itself "civilised" is truly breathtaking whilst they look on as a country is invaded, its infrastructure totally destroyed, millions displaced, tens of thousands of children (and still counting) are either killed, had legs and arms amputated and worse, or been disfigured for life by shrapnel wounds, etc. Add to this the tens or hundreds of thousands more who are cowering night after night in basements throughout Ukraine, many having already lost one or both parents and are now orphans, and a whole generation - at least those that survive - who will be scarred and traumatised for life.
What has the world come to when we allow this to happen, nuclear or no nuclear threat.
We are sending a direct message to Putin and China that they can effectively do whatever they want, as long as you don't come near us. Truly spineless, heartless and pathetic.
The weasels on Boards who consider the safety of their own backs as paramount, rather than take a risk and send troops into Ukraine to stem the carnage, would be the first to scream "attack" if a single child of their own were subjected to such horrors. Yet you can watch it happen to countless others because of your so called fear of a nuclear response.
The nuclear threat will ALWAYS be there, today, tomorrow, next year and for generations to come, so it totally pisses me off when people keep using it as an excuse to legitimise no Western military response to the carnage inflicted on tens of millions of people now, and probably billions in future wars in the decades ahead.
And a so called civilised Western world will allow these things to happen again and again and again....
The human race are a disgrace. So if nuclear armageddon did come it would be a reset. And if there truly is a God then he will surely call time on us all before then.
Rant over.
