Hopefully, a pro-Russia China is bad news for Ukraine and bad news for the world. Neutral is infinitely better than that.
Yeah Zelensky was totally legit in gaining power without extraneous influence.
"But that's different, cos it looked good from where I was standing!"
I know, I know.
Yeah for sure. They should of been lobbying in 100s of missiles and rockets in the first few mins and had all their airforce up in the 1st hr with targets to attack. Then had the paratroopers landing. Even doing that would of drastically changed the set up. Looks like they just went for the less cost effective measure as they thought Ukraine would of fallen within a few days for what they brought to the fore at the beginning.
🤣
Let me guess, you think the CIA in long dark overcoats skulking around Kyiv plucked a comedian out of obscurity and installed him as President?
You're new here (or are you?), you're in for a rough time posting that kind of stuff let me tell you.
And I remember Russia being a model country that never used to invade its neighbours or poison people with polonium and novichok or blow up buildings in the EU.
Until the pesky west got in their with their "prodding", Russia was just minding its own business, being all peaceful and benign.
Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 9 minute vid to the Russian people condemning Putin’s war got millions of viewers. I wonder how many Russians were able to view it?
US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping have spoken on a video call about Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Chinese media said Mr Xi underlined that such conflicts are in nobody's interests.
Mr Biden was expected to tell the Chinese leader that China would pay a steep price if it supports the invasion, a warning that comes at a time of deepening acrimony between the two nations.
The call lasted just under two hours, the White House said.
Earlier, US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman told MSNBC that Mr Xi should tell Russian President Vladimir Putin "to end this war of choice, this war of carnage" in Ukraine.
"China needs to stand on the right side of history. It needs to ensure that it does not backfill, financially or in any other way, sanctions that have been imposed on Russia," she told CNN.
Yeah, it's almost like they thought they were going up against 2014 Ukraine (which probably would have crumbled quicker) than a more battle-hardened and relatively prepared 2022 Ukraine. I can't remember who it was but I watched a Ukrainian military analyst or politician predict the whole Russian invasion with an extraordinary degree of accuracy back in 2019. Maybe the Russians will change tact and get something out of this, but it already has to be up there are one of the biggest military blunders
Yeah it's all just too legit on one hand, while totally corrupt on the other. What could be easier to believe?
As for having a rough time of it, I doubt I'd have a smoother time if I were seeped in butter for three weeks and forced to slide past a gauntlet of thumbless feather-wielding pacifists.
It is what it is, Ukraine is a buffer zone with frequent skirmishes from both sides and it will remain one necessarily.
Putins speech is a worry. Shows he is just going to keep doubling down on this until someone takes him out. Don’t see any other outcome now other than a complete flattening of Ukraine.
It's a very legitimate and believable single sided view you have, too legit to quit!
? What is your take on the conflict? Is Ukraine at fault here?
This will be MASSIVE - China is a bigger player than Russia 100% - which way they fall on this conflict will be crucial
They are waging war on literally their next door neighbour and a place where millions of Russian people have relatives. I would have thought Russian public opinion is very relevant indeed when we discuss the war.
Go on then. You've got the inside track and have obviously been exchanging briefcases outside the Botanishcer Garten in Vienna with others "in the know", tell us how did Zelensky got installed by the CIA. We're all ears.
I suspect the Chinese will be non-committal to it. It suits them more. They'll string the Russians along maybe throw a few bits their way but not enough to draw the wests ire and get sanctioned. Russia getting degraded suits them more, it makes their neighbour more desperate and malleable. After all Russia's population is shrinking and they have a lot of precious natural resources that the Chinese covet.
The Russians should be far more worried about the nation they share 4500+kms of land border with than NATO. Putin misadventures have made NATO far more relevant that it should have been by now.

I appreciate your invitation to waste my time, but due to a foreseen increase in the value of my time I shall have to decline.
My opinion is that Ukraine has nothing to do with anything. Two external powers want their way, and it's unfortunate that it happens to be Ukraine as the spoils.
Well thank goodness for that. I'll file this post under "New-reg no name poster attempts to peddle conspiracy theory then scuttles off when taken up on it."
And I'm sure your days are taken up with big-brain important stuff.
Your filing system intrigues me greatly, is it arranged nonsensically in keeping with theme?
Needs more drones
I doubt it's due to sanction supply worries, as India probably makes generics and are not exactly covering themselves in glory with their spirit of non-cooperation with the whole sanctions thing.
China will commit to nothing and make some platitudes as is their MO for all their diplomacy.
Listen up champ, you're the one swinging by the thread with conspiracy theories. This thread has only been kept on the rails by posters actually wanting to discuss reality and not the fever-dreams and tinfoil theories of political cranks, and also by the mods cleaning it up.
If you've got groundbreaking evidence of the CIA or the Saucer People having groomed and installed Zelensky, lay it on us so we can all be amazed. Otherwise, you know what to do - there are dozens of subforums and thousands of other threads you can pollute.
Raleigh scattering causes it to appear blue. Effectively, the blue wavelengths are shorter so scatter more in the atmosphere, hence we see the sky as blue.
Now go away with your pro Russian nonsense and value your time somewhere else!
