Often being 'got at' is as simple as offering MEP junkets to all expenses paid conferences and 'fact-finding missions' or as unofficial 'election observers' to sh*tbox autocracies on the dime of foreign embassies in Brussels. The EU has apparently tightened up on this in recent years. Several MEPs were raked over the coals for taking freebie trips to Azerbaijan for instance. I think I recall an Irish MEP was involved (not Mick or Clare to be clear).
Guys, don't let the troll wind you up. If they come back with the same kind of rhetoric they will soon be despatched.
Imagine the bewilderment amongst Russian commanders and troops to the orders that under no circumstances are they to attack the Azov batallion. The loss of the Azov batallion would be a massive blow to Russias interests.
'What do you mean we can't blame the Azov battalion? You what? When was this? Bring me that pilot and his commander.'
Is this for real? Did Russia actually say this about Bosnia?
He may win the battle, but he will for sure lose the war..something radically wrong with an army that has to ask other Country's for something as basic as MRE's, weapons and troops. His army is demoralized, and desertion is common. Even at home in Russia, opposition is building against him, witness the draconian laws he has introduced to try and stem dissent. He's an evil bastard, and is quite prepared to destroy what he cannot have. But ultimately, he will lose. For Sure!!!.
Unless Mick Wallace is deliberately cultivating his unkempt appearance in order to hide his true nature as a calculating politician of the highest order, I don't think he, or Clare Daly, have been 'got at' as such. Going on Occam's Razor, the likes of Russia are just taking advantage of their contrarian nature, trying to see all sides of things all the time, and give Wallace/Daly a bit of nice treatment such as letting them go on Russia Today. That's what I think is usually the case when someone is accused of being a 'Russian asset', not literally getting instructions from the Kremlin via shortwave data burst transmissions.
I can imagine that.

I've been following this thread for weeks and declined to say anything as I've "skin in the game" so to say. The shills/putinbots are obvious, don't engage with them. You are being dragged into a pointless debate that deflects the purpose of the what can be at times, an excellent source of information.
I'm sorry I didn't say this weeks ago.
I think they'll find themselves as arms merchants once the smoke clears. "Barely used Russian tanks for sale!"
I suppose it's gratifying them reaching that conclusion, except it didn't take me weeks to reach it. As I said, Biden's statement was probably the worst signalling by a US official since signalling to Iraq that invading Kuwait would be OK.
If you watch the addresses Putin gave in full with english subtitles he makes some perfectly valid points there. from your post
Please explain (even from your warped standpoint) what exactly Putin stated that was 'VALID'?
Ukrainian farmers have soon the largest tank force in Europe and can take on Putin alone
True ,whatever about Putin anyone believing the Yanks and the Brits has a short memory
They have been here a while, mods just keeping the thread as clean as they can.
The problem with that strategy, @briany is that if they concede a sliver of land now, and given the 2014 annexation, it sets a dangerous precedent for future sovereign nations. Simply, by invading the country and wreaking utter destruction, you are rewarded for that bad behaviour with land. And Russia is likely to renege on future agreements and come back for more. I also think from all the civilian casualties in the past 24h, that Russia isn’t really pushed about a peace pact. It is all or nothing for Putin
Grand can you explain away the rest of the world's "propaganda" in your attempts to convince us this isn't "really" happening
I was wondering how long it would take for the tin foil hat brigade to take to the battlefield
Powerful - Think of what he just did
Very powerful - fair play to him
Agree. I've found it interesting that Ukraine have taken a hard line up to now on their territorial integrity, insisting that ceding Crimea and the Donbass regions was not on the table. My hunch would be that they're willing to concede on the matter, but Russia would need to make some serious concessions of its own.
Have to agree with you there
If they (Wallace and Daly) didn't keep extremely shady company since their sojourn in Brussels began, their 'anti-war' bluster might carry more weight.
Their cloying visit to a Russian and Iranian state-backed militia in Iraq, appearing on Chinese state TV in praise of the communist party, keeping the company of the Iranian ambassador in Brussels - no photo of them with the Russian & Chinese diplomatic missions, but I'll eat my hat if they haven't been courted by them.
They are way way out of their depth, and the likelihood of them being 'got at' and being used as mouthpieces of a state actor appear to be quite high.
There can be no removal of sanctions until all Russian soldiers are gone from Ukrainian soil (definition up to Ukraine) and Ukraine has been made whole from the Robber Barons' money. Russia have to lose out massively and be seen to lose out massively for what they've done.
I believe that is all that can be said about that "post". Really should be printed out, framed and hung in the "screamer of the year" gallery.
Pinch of salt, but have been plenty of reports of the Russian military using unencrypted comms
All the more reason for Bosnia to join NATO then I would think.
The stealing of those leased aircraft was the point above all others for me when they lost the economic plot, and/or figured you're treating us like a pariah so we'll act like one. Sanctions can be lifted almost as quickly as they're applied, but international trust in business is a far harder road to walk back down from.
Am sure their neighbours - the Serbs - would love to get back in to even a few old scores. Those Serbs know a bit about committing war crimes.
