It will for sure. It will further erode the tight grip Putin has on Russia - but what happens next? Will we see a Ceaușescu ending?
Nah, no need for that. Just send the man with a very particular set of skills! Total age of over 230 in those three anyway and Arnie has bypasses in his bypasses!
Danil Yevgenevich Bakumenko from Magnitogorsk, Chelyabinsk Oblast. Bakumenko is a Ukrainian name. Not only did this he not make it to 21, he died invading the country his ancestors were more than likely from.
This also reminds me of a video of a mother in Ukraine pleading to her Russian son who is a pilot in the airforce, to stop bombing the city where his mother lives
Well putin was going on about ridding Mother Russia of "scum" and "traitors" in the "fifth column". I sense a purge of those oligarchs and others who aren't 100% publicly behind him. It's a Russian thing and putin figures he made them, so he can unmake them. He's done it before to establish his reign in the first place. Push blame onto the rich(whom he enriched). This will play well to a lot of ordinary Russians. Their hard man plays hard.
There's a wide gamut of possibilities I think
Assassination, deposal, suicide or a "rest on his laurels" for the rest of his days scenario, offered as an incentive to resign. He's too paranoid to get himself into a mob situation
My favourite would be the Pentagon asking the Russian military if their radars can detect a single long range drone flying in from the North West?
Russian Military: That would be most unfortunate as we're conducting a special radar servicing operation the day after tomorrow
Joined up when he was 14?
Is that not just a typical passport? I guess they all bring them for the long walk home.
I think we're almost getting to that stage of calling the war for Ukraine. Russia can keep shelling civilians, sure - but I can't see them getting a military victory now. The longer this goes on, the smaller their political victory will be too.
It does sound like he’s going to seize the assets of oligarchs that are keeping most of their wealth outside Russia.
What's the protocol for an EU country adding to its territory?
It would be a smart move (if done quickly and quietly enough) for the Moldovans to basically say "OK, have that shithole Transnistria, we're part of Romania now". **** Transnistria and let them wither in their horror-film nightmare theme park. Hmm, is that the right one? It looks like a feckin video game set in Soviet Russia after a nuclear accident.
I’d imagine the only chance of Ukrainians even remotely forgiving Russia will be the sight of Putin dragged through the streets.
It all depends on whether Russia can bear the losses until the ground hardens again. Being confined to the roads has left them strung out all over the countryside instead of gathering en masse in large staging areas as planned. If he had started this in late November or early May the outcome might have been quite different. At the moment they are just queueing up to be knocked out.
Ever since this who thing started, I've listened to Sting's song - Russians. Makes for eerie listening now.
Their problems go way beyond soft ground. It's poor discipline, logistics, terrible tactics, a lot of garbage equipment, horrible comms. I mean their pilots are being issued target coordinates written in notebooks, as are tank crews.
They've lost so much now, that any advantage they'll gain with harder ground is negligible. They still haven't even come close to dominating the skies.
I think it's done for Russia. Now it's a case of shelling wildly. Even their helicopters are firing unguided rockets using an upward trajectory when firing to gain more distance. It's the kind of thing I'd expect from the Iraq army circa 1980.
Militarily in Ukraine, I think they're done. Sadly that doesn't mean they can't still lob artillery and dumb bombs all over the place.
Something seriously suspect about this flight. Flightpath from Argentina. Data on aircraft shows 94knts at 3000ft. It has either crashed or its not an aircraft. As far as I can tell, there is no airport where its currently positioned in Kaliningrad. Anyone else have further info?
Tin foil didn't help
Russians: "We're not Nazis."
Also Russians: Adopt an ominous symbol and make exactly the same mistakes as the Nazis in WW2 during Barbarossa, i.e. expect it to be a quick invasion and end up getting stuck in mud.
You'd think the Russians of all people would know how to fight in cold weather. Feck sake, like.
This story is still pretty fuzzy, but Reuters does say the money actually hasn't been paid, and that if Russia defaults, those 2008-crash causing "Credit Default Swaps" start to kick in. Imagine owning 'insurance' on Russian debt. Woo.
Now the aircraft in question is showing up over Warsaw. At the point where I first spotted it, I found a grass airstrip. See pictures. I think there may be some serious play-acting with transponder transmissions over kaliningrad at the moment, possibly masking some other operations. Any thoughts from OSINT or fellow aviation folks?
Are we going to see a purge of Russian military heads
Yeah I'm trying to find out. I do know that some Russian bank transfers are getting through to some international counterparties but these are generally standard obligations in other currencies. In terms of the Russian government paying in e.g. US dollars, for a coupon, I haven't seen it yet, but perhaps it's happening. If they have the balance somewhere, and the recipient is e.g. some Irish bank, then the money would be flowing away from Russian hands into Irish hands which doesn't benefit Russia really. As for a default, it's only a matter of time.
What is this? related to the "military exercises"? Hard to figure out whats happening in Belarus
I am sure we will, it is all totally their fault. Putin was pressed into this by his advisors on live TV if you remember a few weeks ago 😀:
Now we know the reason why he wanted them all to buy in to it.
Last pic could have been certain places around the midlands, boss 🤣
Paddy Maughan must be on tour
I believe Ryan Tubridy said something similar....when he was joking about chicken kiev aswell....
There was tough competition this year alright. I barely made it into the top 10 meself. That was after dominating for 4 straight years
Tubridy really stepped up his game after Even Nigooleygone gave him the boot.
The ultimate dick post of the day goes to (drum roll please):
Definition of harmless.
