@Technocat
Footage from last week in his meeting with Poohtin displayed a man under serious pressure and over perspiring!
Not unheard of for a man to sweat when he's sitting next to his crush.
Great news - this is one of those situations where arming one side will shorten the conflict and save lives
Putin is well known to actively dislike Lukaschenko. It’s a keep your enemies close set up
Here's something I never knew...
If Mr Putin was convicted of war crimes, he may receive a life sentence and could potentially serve his jail term in the UK, Mr Jordash said. The lawyer told Sky News: "Any sentence above 20 years is effectively a life sentence for him anyway since he's nearly 70 years old.
"If it was a situation where the ICC prosecuted him and he was found responsible, then he would be detained in one of the states that has come to an agreement with the ICC to take ICC convicted persons - so it could be anywhere in Europe basically. That includes the UK.
Could you imagine it, Belmarsh or the like. No cabbage soup sorry Mr Putin, but unlimited knuckle sandwiches. Or more likely he'd be beaten to a pulp and torn limb from limb at the first opportunity by inmates - if the screws don't get to him first with a bit of poetic juctice... in the form of a dab of the old novichok on his bedpost.
Full article here...
Absolutely no chance he'd ever let himself be taken alive.
Sarny is in North west Ukraine
So its possible a Russian/Belarus attack on West Ukraine. Lot of unanswered questions right now.
He'd need guts to get out of that another way
Sounds like someone from opposition in Belarus is calling for a coup...
Yes. Could be a false flag by Russia to bring Belarus into the war. But Belarus have less than 50 thousand troops not well trained for this kind warfare. It could be also a coup time will tell.
I can understand how Putin certainly would not respect Lukashenko, because as Ferris Bueller once said, "You can't respect somebody who kisses your ass. It just doesn't work." Putin probably regards everyone as a potential enemy because the Russian political system absolutely reeks of paranoia, but beyond that, Lukashenko is pretty much Putin's toadie.
That could be the pitch for a reboot of Porridge!
Putin has already done the best comedy performance of his life.
See lukaschenko very likes his personal fiefdom, has no intention of seeding it to Moscow. Russia have long wanted to integrate Belarus into their sphere https://www.rferl.org/a/lukashenka-belarus-accuses-russia-pressuring-merger/30396235.html
The regime in Belarus has been looking shaky for some time. Appears to be a lot of public opposition bubbling away (though naturally crushed with the usual KGB style violence and murder) compared say to Russia
Belarus are already well into the Russian sphere, though. They even have that Union State thing. I like to call it the Russia-Belarus gay marriage. That's not to disparage gay marriage, but it's funnier to call it that knowing how homophobic the likes of Putin and Lukashenko are.
3 Panama flagged ships struck by Russian aircraft, what is that about?
Russia wanted more than that, they wanted Belarus to be fully integrated into the Russian federation and have Belarus I guess like one of the republics. The “danger” for Russian is the likelihood of a regime change and it turns back towards Europe. Like what is happening in Ukraine from a Russian perspective
Not sure if this was already posted but this seems to be the massive destruction at Kherson airport that the trucks were seen hightailing it from in a disorderly mess:
a Friend overlay-ed the map from earlier over a more detailed map of Belarus - if there is anything to these rumors it looks like they are fairly distant from Minsk - currently
Any chance Ukraine is bringing the pain to them
Lukashenko said in that article that Belarusians would 'eat him alive' if he tried to make Belarus a part of Russia. Lukashenko knows, however he may feel about Belarus being absorbed, that the people just wouldn't stand for it. Putin would send in the cavalry at Lukashenko's request if unrest got bad enough. That's about as good as it would get for the solidity of the relationship if the people just don't want to be a part of Russia.
If Lukashenko falls, then that, moving towards the EU, is a very real possibility for Belarus
Several Russia watchers are saying the so called "negotiations" with the regime are just a sham and an attempt by Putin to buy time on the battlefield.
Yes, what kind of snake continues bombing irrespective of talks, evacuations, proximity to nuclear plants, etc.
He's incredibly stupid though, because while extra time might allow him to destroy more Ukrainian buildings and infrastructure, it won't be kind to the Russian army. It will also give the West more opportunity to weaken him by proxy.
No, I refuse to believe that. Such duplicity doesn't sound like Putin at all. Shur didn't he win the Kremlin's "Most Trustworthy Politician" 20 years running?
