Looking at what Zelenskyy showed congress I can't see any Russian soldier ever sleeping soundly in Ukraine after this is over.
They will forever be hated by Ukrainians and will have to keep one eye open in the back of their heads.

Speaking of propaganda, like many a crazed group of authoritarians before them, Putin and co started by writing a fiction to manipulate, gain influence and control. Then they started to believe their own hype. They shut down all domestic criticism of the message, surrounded themselves with yes men/yes women to massage their egos and next thing you know they’ve imagined circumstances to go to war, launched an utterly brutal and sickening invasion without any logic to it. It seems they didn’t even understand their own logistical limitations, but just assumed they’d limitless power.
They can’t win it as it’s grossly unjust. They can’t expect to control Ukraine as they’re not going to just be rolled over. They can’t win hearts and minds because their argument is just brutality if you don’t agree with them. They’ve destroyed any prospect of normal relations with Ukraine for probably a century and with most of the civilised world for a very long time. Nobody’s going to trust them as far as they can throw them.
They are destined to drown in their own lies, propaganda and extreme imperial notions . They’ve done mind boggling levels of physical damage, destroyed towns, cities, infrastructure, killed a huge number of people and destroyed the lives and livelihoods of tens of millions of people.
They’ve also taken and destroyed ordinary Russians’ reputation and prospects for probably a generation … and all for what?
There’ll be an economic collapse and a brain drain that could well last more than a generation and they’ve very little to offer, other the energy exports, which amount to a pipe stuck into the ground with a meter to enrich a few oligarchs.
Russia had huge prospects. It had technological prowess in engineering, aviation, space, medicine etc etc and it’s all just been thrown away by a string of authoritarian self serving governments that cared nothing for any of that, as long as a small cabal was enriched.
All I see is brutality, misery, suffering and wasted lives.

Jesus, Putin sounds really unhinged. He did a good job hiding that level of crazy for all those years….
I think that his plot to deny access to Putin, Clinton, et al is a stroke of evil genius. He is trying to couche it in terms of a left versus right battle. I am sure that he is garnering support among the crazies

We also had our very own clown Bryan McDonald (a journalist with RT) in the run up to the invasion sneering at people who said it was imminent, and spouting pro-Kremlin propoganda. He did tweet something a few days into the invasion about how he had called it wrong, but bar a few tweets around the end of February, he hasn't tweeted. I suppose he is off counting in his roubles and slowly coming round to the idea that it wasn't worth it after all
It isn't their military that has kept them from being invaded.
Granted it is quite good and the terrain would be nightmare for invading force.
