Nice house but you'd have to wear sunglasses inside !
30-SQM has to be one of the smallest properties available considering the average for co-living is 27-SQM
Wow €185,000 for that - I see the architects/builders gave them a teeny, tiny hall but couldnt put a wall up to create a bedroom.
It would be ok for someone having to live in Dublin for work reasons during the week but living there full time would be depressing.
Having lived in Cork for a couple of years, you wouldn't have to worry about that kind of weather too often.
Fabulous location for the house though, I love it.
I thought you meant it had huge windows, but I see now what you mean!!
That kitchen would drive me nuts - it's a very mean little space for the house it's in.
But OMG, the views! Esp from that wraparound balcony..... fabulous!
That Cork place is one of the nicest houses we've ever had here.
Smells and Boon 🤪
Definitely one for the etiquette thread.
I wonder why they are selling it.
Seeing them makes more sense why the small kitchens. I think I would keep everything as it is, if I was to buy it. Even the shed that they lived in while building it is nice 🙂
Lovely spot,
just along from Glengarriff house and estate, and Maureen O' Hara's house which I believe is back on the market for 3.8 Million
having been bought for 1.6 Million in 2017.
I'd prefer this one at one fifth that 3.8 m. asking price.
I'd buy that Cork one right now, but ONLY if it had decent internet.
And I had a million spare. Right up my street though, albeit a few coats of paint over the more "bright" walls. Away from everyone and everything. Probably lovely nature sounds instead of people sounds. A balcony to take a slash from...
Lol, I'm surprised they have the balls to even ask 10k for this.
That is similar to/reminds me of one that was sent to me earlier on whatsapp
Auction too. 50k is the reserve I wouldn't even give that for it. I can't imagine there will be many people scrambling to bid on that.
Slightly to pricey for me.
Normal enough to leave a little bit of room for haggling.
What is the sliding wall supposed to do? Block the view of the stairs or kitchen?
Saw that one on Reddit. They still haven't corrected the typo in the price. I know the market is crazy but... 😂
It's like a house on a film/ soap set. You see the front, the lawn and so on very well kept, and then... nothing at the back. The little pink bike makes me feel a bit sad. You would wonder sometimes what the story is when you see houses like that.
And if you leave your curtains open, you can give your neighbours a show from the shower with the angle of that mirror. 😉
I really like this!
love this style of house and it's ready for the new owners to make it their own. I would love it, if it wasn't in mayo!
That house in Mayo isn't too bad IMO. I'd prefer to have a doer-upper fully stripped back so you can see what needs to be done, rather than a freshly painted turd with rot underneath that you can't see. They should have cleaned it out and swept the floor though.
Very nice location, 15 mins to Castlebar, less than 30 to Westport. In summer, 40 mins to some cracking, near empty beaches.
Not sure why Claremorris is the address when Castlebar is nearer, probably the postal address.
Stick €50K into it and it would go a long way. You'd have a decent house for the same as paying 5 years for the same as paying rent for a half decent apartment in Dublin. Stick €100K into it and you'd make a great job of it. Lower crime, less aggro, less of a rat race. It has plenty going for it if you have the work and family flexibility.
This is the house here, Streetview is from 2009; it's had some work done recently, but always looked well maintained and loved in the past. My only worry is what's going on in the yard beside it. Could be machinery on the go there at all hours of the night.

I very much doubt you'd get a nice house out of it for €100k. €100k gets you fcukall these days.
I could be wrong but is there fcukall foundation under the walls (Photo 13 and 14)?
Myself and my husband made an offer on a house here in Belfast the other day. The estate agent for the vendor said that they are DELIGHTED that an offer has been made because they've had to drop their price by 10k since the last time they tried to sell it (not sure if that's because they got no offers at the higher price or because a sale fell through). I'm tempted to put the house up here so you guys can figure out why they would have trouble selling the house at all. It seems like an excellent house to me. I can't see any problems with it.
stick it up sure.
Have you checked the Land Registry (or whatever it is called in NI); Planning? Are there any flooding issues in the area? Are there any suspect empty or derelict sites in the vicinity that might have something planned that you wouldn't want to live next to? Google Subsidence, Belfast.
I run by this house regularly. The garage and double extention you see on the side has been knocked a its just an empty site next to the house. That house needs 200k put into it.
I live 500 meters away and I got My house valued a month ago at 580k. Its a three bed semi detached so a bit smaller I have triple glazed windows, rewired, replastered, new stairs kitchen etc. Mines modern.
They are on heroin if they think it's worth that. I'd pay 500k max
The real problem there is the owners have possibly the worst furniture for the property. Add a Murphy bed, built in storage, smaller sofa and seat with some folding furniture would transform the place. Nice little spot really. Ireland actually needs places like this. I could live there on my own quite comfortably
Isn't it places like this that's mainly being built at the moment anyway? You can live there no problem, if you have a couple of grand a month to spend and no desire to buy the place yourself. 😂
I'm in the building industry myself so I know there's no major issues there with flooding (the other side of the river I'd be more concerned about which is where we're also looking at), or subsidence. The houses were built in the late 90's so are recent enough, shouldn't be any issues with rewiring etc. The house looks sturdy, no evidence of damp internally or externally, roof seems ok from a cursory glance. Gutters need cleaning but that's a maintenance issue. No direct access to the rear is a bit of a pain in the ass but not something that would put me off it.
I've checked planning and there's a grade B2 listed church building right behind this which has an application at the moment to change it's use from offices to a single dwelling which is a positive in my mind. Absolutely massive trees on the church site which could cause significant damage if they came down but the same could be said of my current house.
It's a fairly well to do area in Belfast also, no issues with parades or anti social behaviour. There's some flags and kerb painting further down towards town but nothing I would be overtly concerned about. The bowling club a few plots down is a pretty sedate place, no major noise issues. I'm just baffled why this wouldn't sell and why the owners are so delighted to even get an offer. Waiting for a callback now to see if the offer's been accepted. This is the house:
Agreed, it looks like a nice place. I wouldn't care for the overhanging front but that's just me. I like the back 'extension' bit.
