At the best of times, it is worth being mindful of where you get your information from. In a war, it is essential as its much harder to verify information when there's so much of it and it's released so quickly.
If your assertion is true, at least show us where you're getting it from. You're the one who's pushing the idea. It's not up to us to do your leg work for you. Don't be surprised if people are sceptical of your posts when you don't back them up, especially with such an obnoxious and antagonistic tone.
Tbf, if you are going to make that claim you ought to back it up.
There's dissenters for everything to it really shouldn't be that hard.
I'm sure he will, if they make it to Kyiv alive. I'm aware that the Poles are helping and working hard and the Polish government is trying to take credit for it. I'm in Poznań now, so I hear that directly from the guys that are helping. Still getting to Kyiv today as EU representatives might boost Ukrainian morale and I see it as a positive thing.
.P.S. I hope that the train is loaded with humanitarian aid and that it'll be back in Poland loaded with refugees.
Ukrainian MP. And many more that I can't be bothered posting.
1.83m of refugees crossed the Polish border since the war started.
If that Russian newscaster with the 'No War' sign was just a stunt, I don't really see what it would achieve toward the English-speaking world. We're already as aware as we're going to be without going to Russia and doing vox pops that some people over there don't agree with what's happening in Ukraine, so some woman going on TV with an English/Russian 'No War' sign changes nothing in that regard.
If it's to allay growing fears in Russia that they really do live in a totalitarian dictatorship, and really everything is fine because this woman is free to go on TV and protest, maybe they should get out in the streets with their own anti-war signs and see how they get on.
That's be like everyone in Cork leaving Ireland. Though the emotion would be quite different. 😅
The point is that many Ukrainians are either suspicious or ungrateful about the stunt. It's only people in the West that seem to be in love with this "hero".
Ukrainians, understandably, don't want to make a RUSSIAN a hero at the moment.
Well, 'good Russians', I beseech you to get out in the streets and protest to stop the war post-haste or else burn rubles for heat next winter, as that is all they will be good for.
I don't believe anything what comes from PiS.
And IF they really go there, so the train will be loaded with security guys protecting them, not humanitarian aid...
The Poles have to be forward, they are faced with an aggressive Moscow to the East and a Berlin which is only concerned about cheap Russian gas.
The former USSR is absolutely rotten with dictators and police states. Worse than under communism where at least there was a veneer of socialist ideals and some supports for ordinary people.
Georgia and obviously the Baltic’s are fairly robust democracies. The rest, forget about it. I suppose you could add Moldova but rampant corruption and poor governance there too
Very true. Still I'd expect them to be ready to risk someone's life, not there .own
It was the Ukrainians themselves who said the sailors may have survived.
Wouldn't diminish their resistance, just curious whether truth was finally established
Yes, but they should act in the interest of the whole Poland and world security, not in the interest of PiS staying in power....
I'd say many Ukrainians have larger problems at hand than wondering whether a particular stunt on Russian TV is really just a piece of theatre designed to sway western opinion.

This is the kind of thing that shows up on my YouTube😂 It's a pity, I've always wanted to visit Russia. That video was put up last year, looks a good bit more chill. Stayed in the hotel near the Kremlin that used to be used for dignitaries. Could just wander around Stalin's old apartment and all.
Look like it's official. They are on the way, in Ukraine. Let's wait and see. The joke for now is that if all goes well Jarek ( PIS leader ) will be meeting Zelensky. If things go bad he'll meet his own brother, the late Polish president.
PIS guys made 180 deg turn from being anti-EU to EU representatives in 2 weeks :-)
It clearly wasn't just a stunt - the woman has been disappeared.
Lawyers still can't find Marina Ovsyannikova, Agora lawyer Daniil Berman told the Meduza.
Investigative Committee launched an inquiry into the actions of Channel One employee Marina Ovsyannikova, who burst into the airwaves of the Vremya program - source TASS.
Dmitry Peskov (Putin's spokesman) called her protest an act of hooliganism when speaking to TASS.
I am surprised (though maybe not with all the trolls) that this is not getting more attention here. This is the diplomatic equivalent of giving Putin and the Russian army the middle finger. If the Russians do anything about this they bring a new world of trouble on themselves and if their don't they are shown to be impotent. And yeah, as politicians they have one eye on how this looks for them at home but in the wider context they are doing Ukraine and the world a big favour.
It has been at least good that Russia's actions in Ukraine have been a cold bucket water thrown in the face of Europe. The right-wing feeling that's been fomenting in Europe - Putin's Russia is where that gets you if allowed to go to its fullest extent. If you think cancel culture is bad, imagine a France where someone like Marine Le Pen is allowed to make the rules and put political opponents in jail. Liberal Democracy is about as good as it gets for us in Europe in terms of personal freedom and the accountability of our politicians, and we have a real example of its antithesis to our eastern flank, and should want no part of it.
Would be a disaster for Ireland. Where would we get the smart peoiple from?
3 bloody million. Jesus.
They didn't. Just yesterday "Polish" constitutional tribunal announced that European Human Rights card is not in agreement with Polish constitution. They still are damaging Poland turning it into an authoritarian country, while wanting to harness what is "trendy" atm, because of Poles support for refugees.
Yeah they (Polish govt.) have always mistrusted Russia and they are understandably shocked and afraid now I'd say given what has happened + seeking as much support from the EU as they can get for Poland right now.
Otherwise they are still the same corrupt lot with autocratic/nationalist right wing tendencies they were pre-war.
I hope they are feeling some buyers remorse as well with how they backed up Viktor Orban for many years and prevented the EU taking any actions against Hungary (cutting off funds, limiting voting rights etc) which might have caused his ouster from power.
When you consider that an elderly Lady was arrested for holding up a placard with nothing written on it,,,just a white sheet, imagine what they they will do to a broadcaster who holds an anti-war placard up on prime time TV......Brave and honorable Lady. Good Luck to her, she will need it in that lions den.
According to the latest news reports this morning some areas of Kyiv are getting heavily bombarded by Russian Artillery rockets, with some residential blocks on fire.
Posted thoughts from this guy before (an ex General) on the situation, a decent read. TLDR: he believes Russia is now in "Plan C" mode
