Stupidest thing I came across on Facebook today, lad I went to college with is into his CTs and he'd replied to a comment or w/e and the comment was along the lines of "There's something weird going on that they need space for people.". Yeah, modern cities are being flattened ya dumb ****. FFS, the comments. The same braindead **** who couldn't understand a word could have 2 different meanings when they were doing their Junior Cert get to feel clever by "questioning" things. The same ****, I really just want to ask that if they actually believe half of what they say then how in the **** are they able to still live under the oppressive regimes they live under rather than heading to Russia/Kazakhstan/Belarus so they can see the freedom from the American oppression?
each to their own
Good thing he is coming back down.
Who is lying in the above?
Facebook has sent some people off the deep end. That hasn't happened overnight, it's been a build up over a few years. The algorithms don't recognize these people are dangerously susceptible and double down and fill their heads with even more shite.
It's batshit what they get away with. (Facebook).
Absolutely, Putin shot his bolt too early and like a typical thug , he overdid the threats,
however he didn’t expect the united west To NUKE his economy so effectively, and not only at home but worldwide Russian reach.
as Wibbs says , give this a bit of time and see where he is . Stuff only really starting to bite.
This war is turning out to be some disaster for Russia. Worse than their invasion of Afghanistan. Glory to Ukraine. What we would love now is revolution in Russia, overthrow Putin and his regime and divide Russia up into independent states and reduce it to nothing.
To be fair, Ukraine didn't dig underground tunnels into Russia to attack their citizens and kidnap them.
Ukraine didn't lob thousands of unguided rockets all over Russia
Ukraine didn't bomb Russian buses, cafes and nightclubs
Not all conflicts are the same 'good vs bad'. This particular conflict is pretty clear cut, but most conflicts have lots of grey areas. I'd include the Russia Vs Chechnya in the grey zone, because there's no doubt Russia was a victim of an Islamic insurgency emanating from there. The flattening of Grozny was obviously outrageous.
It doesn't matter who's lying, the US can use it to give China a stern reminder of the consequences of dipping its toes into this. They are back at that Zero COVID lark anyway.
I watched Winter on Fire on Netflix and have to say going by that and the doggedness shown by the Ukrainian people Putin most definitely doesn't have enough to take it let alone hold all these places, terrible blunder by Russia.
They ve basically nuked there own economy to invade a country they haven't a hope of subjugation, and the retaliation for years to come from this will be brutal.
Putin is a clown.
Ha,ha I agree wit you.
It's a combination of his utter contempt for Ukraine and its people and really foolishly thinking the west would roll over and let him carry on at this game yet again.
It's not gas. It's reality. Let's address the elephant in the room. No one cares. Neither do you, deep down. If you did, you'd be over on the West Bank with a crowbar and a shovel. I don't care either.
I used to. I cared so much I actually went there, plus Jordan, plus Syria.
Then I got married, then there were kids, then a mortgage, a change of Job. Then all off a sudden, you find yourself not thinking about the other people, with the other religion and the other skin colour.
We middle class, white Irish folk, through eons of guilt heaped upon us by the Catholic Church, found a way to feel better about ourselves by pretending to care. By donating an odd time, or mentioning it at dinner tables in order to feel better about ourselves. No amount of Whataboutery changes that.
Then Russia invades Ukraine and all off a sudden everyone cares. Why?
Because you can get in a car, stick Kiev into a Sat nav and drive there and when you get out of your car at the end of your Journey, and look around, you could be in any European Country. That scares people. That's what scares people the most.
Sure, you could drive to Syria or, hypothetically speaking, the West Bank. But if you get out of your car there and look around, you will definitely know that you are in a very, very different society.
That's why we don't care.
You've just arrived at Bloody Sunday logic, well done. There is no greyzone when it comes to ethnic cleansing and crimes against civilians.
I doubt it.Putin can't press the button on his own. There are Generals in there who would surely stand up finaly to Putin if he lost the plot. You can see from their expressions in some of the press conferences he gives that they are not too happy with him but wary of confronting him at the moment.Putin's corrupt time is coming to a close I think.
They will just flatten KYIV like Aleppo and Grozny.
Cowards.
Congratulations.
You've just made a statement so ridiculous even the animal kingdom find it funny.
This post was a fine way to explain how dumb your thinking is.
Speak for yourself. Lets cut to the chase here, you never cared, that's fair enough, but now you're projecting your own shallowness on to the rest of us.
Like I said, whatever makes you feel better.
Tony Connelly on the RTE Six One news stating that it looks like China is going to give Russia military aid...bad development. Where does this war end if NATO are funding one side and China the other. No one wins and thousands upon thousands lose their lives.
So blowing up hospitals and children is alright if some terrorists claiming to represent these kids do something bad? You know you're a step away from Putin's denazification logic here
Anyway, I'm leaving it there because it's going beyond this thread, but some of ye would want to take a good long look at yourselves and your motivations
Whatever about the failure of the nuclear decision in terms of power generation. This nonsense about green platforms being funded by the Kremlin will and is being pushed by major fossil fuel industry. It's horse ****. Yes the nuclear should have been kept . But by god renewable energy should be front and centre over funding murderous fossil fuel regimes the world over. It's costing us wars, lives and the planet . We have to be weened off this **** asap.
we are at the start of a great war if this is true
Lazerpigs take is bewilderingly satirical yet oddly informative - you might enjoy
Really hard to understand the logic of this from their point of view. They benefit so much more from doing nothing.
This thread is about Russia/Ukraine.
I would be astounded if the Chinese committed financial suicide by assisting the Russians.
There's still a fair amount of doubt about this. It was run by the FT in an article, but several analysts are questioning the accuracy of it.
Is this new? Russia have already claimed in the last day or so they are asking China for help and China have denied it is true. China risks some sanctions attention but definitely loses face and any honest broker claim if this is the case.
