looks like Russia doesnt have enough forces to take Odessa while they are held up in Mariupol, seems they are grinding to a halt around Kyiv, they seem to be seeing what a lot of us seen at the start, they dont have enough soldiers to do what they want, they need another 100k bodies on the ground, this will not come overnight
This seems to be a long grinding war and a very destructive one at that. This won't be over in weeks or even months.
His country's getting bombed t'f**k. I doubt he cares about the finer points of US internal politics at this point in time. Just give him da planes, boss. Da planes.
It's accurate.
The context, the translation, everything?
Confirmed by who?
I wish I shared your optimism on Ukraine's future but unless something changes massively we're likely looking at a quarter of the population leaving, all their cities flattened, all their resources taken, all their coastline gone and living under a system where Russia get some input into policy. Not allowed to join NATO (and likely the EU either) so constantly knowing they'll be even more easily flattened if they lift their head at all. I don't see a way that doesn't happen unless Putin has a huge Road to Damascus moment or is taken out very soon.
Who needs a Hilux
Syrian mercenaries about to experience some proper cold weather
I think it's worth highlighting their hypocrisy though. There's one country in the world they do support boycotting, but don't support it against Russia which has just invaded a sovereign country
Thats true, but if its such a modern new armoured vehicle i would have expected a bit more quality.
But it does the job thats what matters
People were slagging older Russian aircraft earlier in the thread, they are Older but tough
Meanwhile in another Universe
Elon Musk has just challenged Vladimir Putin to single combat and says he's serious. O detail on what said "single combat" will entail.
Some still havent learned what russian misinformation is about
Its Twitter Boggles, no need for sources.
Expect posters to ask can we send warm clothes to keep them comfortable
Piece of Russian tin sh*te. Its as good as useless at this stage.
It will be repaired and returned to service
In sure it will when it's Russian. I wouldn't be flying it if I was one of their pilots. Piece of scrap. They won't be able to get any parts abroad from now on so I'm sure they will be many a quick fix to get these planes operational again.
Well actually there were claims that the red stilettos were sent over marked for the attention of the syrian soldiers.
Some context from the Guardian on why Germany can't drop all Russian oil/gas immediately (but they are working on it)
Germany has said an immediate boycott of Russian gas and oil supplies could hurt its own population more than Vladimir Putin, bringing mass unemployment and poverty.
“If we flip a switch immediately, there will be supply shortages, even supply stops in Germany,” the economic and energy minister Robert Habeck told public broadcaster ARD on Sunday, as Europe’s largest economy intensely searches to diversify its energy supplies in the medium term.
The Green party politician predicted “mass unemployment, poverty, people who can’t heat their homes, people who run out of petrol” if his country stopped using Russian oil and gas.
Few other western economies are as dependent on Russian energy as Germany: 55% of the natural gas, 52% of the coal and 34% of mineral oil used in the country comes from Russia, for which it pays hundreds of thousands of euros daily, financially supporting the war machine devastating Ukraine.
Habeck said his government was working hard to ensure Germany would be in a position to give up Russian coal by the summer, and to phase out Russian oil by the end of the year, but that a short-term ban on Russian gas could leave his country exposed.
US officials are now echoing Biden's comments more convincingly in that they are stating that a chemical attack by Spew Tin will illicit a "severe response". This puts Spew Tin in something of a bind because he's not making much progress conventionally and now has been schooled that a line exists.
Biden's rambling delivery of the same message didn't really pass the muster for me, his staff members are infinitely more convincing in my opinion.
Is the rat trap now set?
They are Russian produced they don't need foreign part's, Russian aircraft have always been known for below standard Craftsmanship, but they still fly , another aircraft similar this one's cockpit controls would fallout on to the pilots lap whenever they fired cannons
Fairly sure most Germans be fine with that
Any evidence whatsoever to support that claim?
Yeah but it definitely has to be phased, I think they can get a lot done this year. We may all have a "let's save oil/gas" winter in 2022, and hopefully by winter 2023 Europe will be almost completely off Russian oil/gas.
Su 25 is the Russian equivalent of the A-10 old frame but has redundancy and survivability built in. The russians probably don't need any parts from the west for them, whether the engineers and factory workers will fix or produce stuff for IOUs is another question...
There should be reparations after this war, Russia is allowed to keep its gas and oil but all profits should go toward rebuilding Ukraine and whoever is next in line to be attacked, also Russia loses its far east and is reduced to a European minor power only, Versailles 202* it might be but it will be necessary, no country should get away lightly with starting the type of war it has
As someone who is a fan of the amazing engineering and technological innovation of Tesla, SpaceX etc I used to have much more time for Elon Musk, but every now and again he makes these stupid comments on the internet - for what, I don't know - attention maybe? He's a bit of a liability in that regard. Like a lot of highly intelligent people, they can also have their fair share of eccentricities...
