Because they nothing more than a pack of populist whores, New Fianna Fail!
I'd say he's a big Bear Grylls fan
He’s more a John Wicks guy and probably believes he is John Wicks.
In a transparent democracy like Ireland, can SF just wipe 20 years of media statements from its website like that? As in the ones decrying the EU and NATO?
What makes it transparent, is someone can archive it (I imagine that's been done) and post it elsewhere.
Can't imagine why they'd want this message deleted...
Another statement which has been deleted from the Sinn Féin website is from its former foreign affairs spokesperson Seán Crowe supporting the abolition of Nato in 2014.
The Dublin South-West TD had said the military alliance was “nothing more than a Cold War relic that needs to be disbanded”.
Good article here on how NATO painted itself into a corner and how it can paint its way out.

Were the statements related to Russia? As in, why delete them now?
Will this gain traction in the Irish media? Will it have any influence on the election?
Probably not. It seems a significant number of people believe their lies about housing.
“Mary Lou McDonald may now be a vocal critic of president Vladimir Putin, calling for the expulsion of Russia’s ambassador to Ireland, but her party’s voting record in Europe, coupled with her own previous utterances, tell a very different tale.
As far back as 2015, Sinn Féin abstained from a European Parliament resolution that condemned human rights abuses in Russia and criticised Putin’s annexation of Crimea in Ukraine.
In 2018, when the Irish government moved to expel a Russian diplomat in the wake of the poisoning of Russian intelligence officer Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury, Ms McDonald hit out at Mr Varadkar, who was then taoiseach, for what she claimed was “a flagrant disregard for Irish neutrality”.
She added: “Such a significant and dramatic Irish foreign policy decision should be dictated by an Irish security analysis.”
Super article in the Examiner:
How is this not the headlines on RTÉ?
@deise08
Is there anybody that Putin rates that could be sent to mediate?
I mean akin to Kim Jun Un and Denis Rodman the basket ball player.
Is there any celebrity figure to talk to him.
That person exists... But you may not like who it is.
I don't think there's any law or rule that says they have to keep anything like this.
Media statements, by their very nature, will have been sent to all the media. So every newspaper/news site, TV & Radio station will have them already. I assume the bigger ones keep their own archives.
Plus, it's all archived here: https://web.archive.org/web/*/sinnfein.ie
https://web.archive.org/web/*/www.sinnfein.ie
We are supposed to tippitoe around SF and not offend them. If the conversation veers off housing we need to bring it back on topic.
If I was the press officer for any other party, I would be playing these statements on a loop.
Putin is more of a khabib fan after the afters brawl
Send him, hopefully his big mouth gets him into trouble and he doesn't come back.
The leader of Russia from the czars to Stalin have always been very wary of the army, the one force that could take them down and take them out. They learned to keep it under control and keep it defanged at home. Moving up the ranks is usually more based on politics than ability and there's an army within the army keeping the beady eye on potential trouble. Officers that become popular or show intelligence and independent thinking tend to be "retired" or fall out of windows, or get "killed in action" and airbrushed out of history, or given a statue if popular. Stalin was famous for this. So that by the German invasion of WW2 most of his best generals and officers had been taken out the back and shot as threats to him and many units were headed by politically appointed loyal commisars. Putin has done similar.
Commercial aircraft cannot operate without an airworthiness certificate. 900 Russian aircraft cannot be legally flown from midnight last night. 😲
Just tell McGregor that Putin said Proper Whiskey tastes like dog piss (which is accurate).
He'd be sent over there, wouldn't hear anything for a week, and then he'd post a picture on his Instagram of himself in a sleeveless Russian officer uniform, calling in an airstrike on Kiev.
And you'd go, "(sigh) Yeah, that's about right, alright..."
Wow, great find. This needs to be publicised more. e.g.
"Irish participants at the conference told the Guardian that they had no Kremlin links and were simply taking an opportunity to promote their cause. Sinn Féin member Diarmaid Mac Dubhghlais compared the eastern Ukraine conflict to the “Ireland of years ago”, arguing that the pro-Russian rebels were fighting a “fascist government” in Kiev."
You'll do nutin Putin
Unreal that the Ukrainians are still somehow defending parts of Mariupol
