Interesting. Didn't know that and I agree with your assessment. There's so much going on in this conflict. It's an international war, without being a world war.
Strikes me that is not in Russia’s interest for anyone to know they are looking for arms from China, until they actually get them, as until then they look weak and exposed. Makes me think it’s China that actually leaked this suggestion, to make Russia look weak and exposed
They could just sell missiles to Russia, not much the west can do about that.
Will be poetic justice / Karma so for Putin....because that's exactly what he did with Assad.....he left Assad hanging each he wanted something more.....then when Assad gave in, Putin comes to the rescue !!! Again... LOL
Don't forget about that time Russia planned to launch a first strike nuclear attack on china because the Russian regime thought china was going to be more powerful than them
Looks like russia blocked Instagram today.
Shutting down all social media won't do them any good at this stage
I've updated the OP with a list of threadbanned users
Please drop me a PM if you think your username should not be there but is, or indeed vice versa
Stay classy Russia ☹️☹️😡
Yea have to agree with this, Its worrying how the whole world is becoming dependant on China.
China arming the Russians is unlikely. I can't see what would be in it for them.
Well what benefit do the US and British get from selling arms to Saudi Arabia for use in their illegal war on Yemen… Money!
I wonder how much rupees would buy a few patriot missiles or equivalents?
Yeah, I'm with you. A truly blatant case of blackmail by nukes and does set a precedent
I think young people have heard of VPNs. They can get around these things
Other than testing new military tech in an actual warzone, remember china has gone through a massive military modernisation program , but very little of their own built designs stolen from other countries, has actually been fielded in actual combat
hardly a precedent the Kim’s in NK have been at it for years sure.
Anonymous should put up a replacement site in Russia called 'Blinstagram', and it only has one picture,
Russian Federation Naval group in the Black Sea now in full combat readiness, looks like an amphibious attack on Odessa is imminent
Last I checked they hadn't invaded an independent country.
But broadly speaking, sure. In their case nukes as negotiation tactic
No. Have you never heard the saying - "When life gives you Yemen, give Yemen aid"
(Stolen from a Frankie Boyle joke)
Wouldn't it be lovely if they were attacked. Woule drones take them out?
I'd love nothing more than waking up, some morning in the immediate future and reading an RTE push notification that Putin was assassinated. As Kevin Keegan said (for those old enough to remember when Newcastle were challenging for the title) "Id love it"
The damage that this man is doing to Ukraine is astonishing. I spoke to a woman this week who's son is working on a farm in Ukraine. He was told to "Get the fcuk out of the country or you wont be able to leave"
He packed his jeep and left in a hurry. He told his mother he drove over dead people that were killed by snipers along the road. He couldn't stop along the same stretch for fear he'd be getting it next. That's not something that will ever leave you. Its alright talking shite on the Internet but it's another to actually live through that
PS. Hat tip to the mods for cleaning the arseholes off the thread
Just speculation from a nobody...but if China really do aid Russia (?) could it be Xi and CCP leaders are a feeling a bit high on their own supply as regards all the collapse of the West, degeneracy and weakness of US democracy and a "risen" China, exemplar for the whole world which their state propaganda pushes?
They have got increasingly high-handed and arrogant in all their dealings with what they obviously view as lesser nations (perhaps everyone bar US?) not showing the correct level of deference. I can't understand alot of that (imo) often very counterproductive aggression, or what good it is doing them. Perhaps they (leaders in the CCP) believe all their own hype, esp. post Covid-19?
If they are quite open with helping Russia bust sanctions and supplying weapons etc., while (edit: very...) bad, it does draw the lines clearly. Hard for the US/EU (and their businesses, and citizens) to continue to deal with them like a normal country, close the eyes and hold the nose, while they take our money with one hand and help fund Russian atrocities and a potential genocide on the EU border with the other. It will really speed up a necessary disconnection from them.
Having used Chinese built machinery and equipment previously myself, I'd reckon the Russians have more to fear here than the Ukrainians.
Im no expert but they could certainly do damge but Im not sure they would sink a battleship, maybe they can pick off a few vehicles disembarking when the time comes
I'm no IT techie, but as I understand it, when using a VPN, there are several providers you can choose from, right? What happens if the FSB control them? Bit like the Guard's setting up a checkpoint down the road from a cul-de-sac, and just sit tight and wait for the law breakers to hand them selves in after seeing the checkpoint up ahead, and turning off the main road to avoid them.
It depends if the Ukrainians have been saving their Neptune's anti shipping cruise missiles for this opportunity as well.
Part of me hopes they have, the other part suspects they are a paper wonder weapon just like all the RuSSians ones that haven't appeared on the battlefield.
China selling arms to Russia wouldn’t be a “moral” issue for China.
As the saying goes, guns don’t kill people - people kill people. China would shrug shoulders and go we haven’t bombed maternity wards, go talk to Russia.
yeah but they have been stealing tech and IP left right and center too.
