Ukraine opening a counter offensive near Kharkiv and Mikolajiv ... According to Ukranian officials. Which if true is very positive news.
My apologies comrades my source for the earlier speculation about the American.
I shall continue despite the pathetic personal abuse to continue to link to sources that counteract some of the Ukrainian propaganda and so that people can get a more balanced view of what is going on in the Ukraine.
Wonder if that's changing now, if the reports about 30 cruise missiles being shot at that training centre in Yavoriv (sp?) are in any way accurate. I think the Ukrainians said 30 missiles fired, 22 shot down and 8 hit (unlikely they managed to shot down 22, but still)..
Exactly... I'm wondering how the world can get out of stagflation with all that debt, unable to adjust interest rates upwards? This is why I think some form of global debt forgiveness is going to come into play.
"Near Severodonetsk, the occupiers broke into the house to the pro-Ukrainian volunteer Alexander Kononov and shot him in a wheelchair, said the head of the Luhansk OVA Haidai."
Those brave Russians.
Yep, that has been threatened alright. If he does that, it's game over for Mother Russia in so many ways economically. They won't get another lease agreement from anyone, for anything. Not just aircraft. The country will be blacklisted for international insurance on top. IMHO that will hit them harder and for longer than many, if not most of the sanctions. McDonald's and Chanel may go back in but international leasing and insurance will be a closed door.
And they have very little time to row back on this. Those aircraft are becoming worthless by the day. They've no access to spares, no international access to back up maintenence records(a lot of which are still on paper), so by April the planes are massively devalued as they won't be allowed within sniffing distance of international overflights. As it is they're limited to internal flights for the most part. Oh and just today in a blink and you might miss it headline; Bermuda which has half of those aircraft in Russia on her register has removed airworthiness certificates from them. Which means that those 700 odd aircraft standing on Russian tarmacs are effectively worthless. The other half will follow in short order. Insurance will pay out something to the lessors and Russia will be out in the cold back to Soviet times.
Worse than Soviet times. Back then they built and operated their own air fleet, today their latest Sukhoi airliner uses Pratt and Whitney engines and European avionics.
No you won't as you are now threadbanned
That's only because output increases through military production I thought? On paper it might look like the economy is doing great but for people on the ground, the quality of life definitely decreases. GDP always goes up during war and thats why GDP shouldn't be used as an economic indicator during war, it's inflated.
If a world war broke out, the US would see a massive increase in demand for war machinery and that would have a knock on effect for suppliers etc. but it isn't economic growth through progress.
We also shouldn't put up with **** times for the sake of war. The majority of us citizens have not want for war, so we should question why a few are leading us that way.
Found one
This should get interesting. Russia becoming increasingly desperate.
thats the main conundrum now, we will likely have stagflation plus this war which means stock markets wont know what do to which could lead to the bubble (of everything) thats been building for the last 20 years finally exploding simultaneously as this war
It seems power has been restored to Chernobyl. Assad's media are saying mercenaries that fight for Russia will get €1,500 a month plus a food allowance (aka a crowbar).
Fake news Weisses. Where's the tractor? 😁
By rights they should by rights raise interest rates 3% yesterday. Think about it, minus 0.5% to 2.5% on 9 trillion Euros and stopping support for the countries it has been artificially propping up. Yet the ECB is 400 billion in debt itself.
The whole west somehow got into the mindset that they have control of commercial markets because they buy a lot of goods. Truth is the seller has the power and if you can't buy from anyone else then you pay what the market price is or get nothing.
When you have control of effectively 70% of the worlds microchip resources and 40% of the worlds food supply in your hand. What happens if that is totally cut off on Monday morning ?
Very worrying if that is being made public. If Russia were looking for military equipment and China refuses this would not have been made public and kept quiet I would have thought.
If China starts arming Russia I think everything changes.
They are telling the Syrian fighters that they will be policing occupied territory, not trying to take and hold it.
They'll get some hop.
Any mercenary fighter like that should be left on the ditch when caught.
Assad is worried that Russia's quagmire in Ukraine means Russian hardware and personnel get diverted from Syria into the Ukrainian theatre. No Russia in Syria makes Assad a bit more vulnerable again. Plus he has no way of stopping Iran's IRGC from taking over the south of his country without the Russians being there.
Fascinating to see all the movers and shakers in this horrendous war.
Interesting point about the publication of it. I'm not sure how easy it would be for the Russians to integrate Chinese weapons into their armed forces. It could just be artillery shells etc rather than jets and tanks.
They are losing this battle and know it. Peace talks are just buying time whilst they recruit from afar.
You also had all the major news papers saying Israel told Ukraine to surrender. Followed the next day by Ukrainian officials and Israeli officials both denying any part of it, with Ukrainian officials being unequivocal about it.. There's a very concerted effort which I've mentioned before in this thread, of dragging Israel into the centre of this conflict. It's quite fascinating to see. I mean on CNN after war broke out, one of Christiane Amanpour's first questions to some guest she had on, was about Israel's position on this. A country the size of Wales in the M.E. is headline news during a war in Europe. It's a bit odd.
The likes of Syria are much more connected to this conflict than Israel is, yet somehow Syria isn't in the news. Go figure.
Here's exhibit A of what I'm talking about
Them boys will be im for some bother
Hard to know but it always gives. A healthy economy sees ups and downs, it's constant growth that's alarming.
I think political institutions are very aware of the discontent and instability in society. With social media having already proved itself a driver and catylst of this turmoil when it starts, they could be trying to soften the message to avoid unrest.
Uncertain times ahead and it seems we're all slowly progressing toward something big but at the same time completely numb to it. I guess you can't appreciate the significance of a historical event until it becomes that.
Putin is fooked
If the Chinese help the Russians they are officially no longer a great bunch of lads.
I think once the gates open it could be very bad news.
But looking at other links, is it just the US claiming this?
But either way China so far seems to have been slightly more against the invasion so far, without condemning it.
But this would be a big shift in getting more directly involved and supporting Russia by sending weaponry.
Show me the proof of a Russian, who isn't a citizen of Israel, hiding his money in Israel? Has there been a single yacht docked in Israeli ports?
if the Chinese bankroll this war for Russia we are headed for stormy waters, perfect storm, weather bomb
Would a lot of these Syrians or similar not run off if they can manage it, throw away guns and then try and get into the land of milk and honey in the EU? Could be more bushy-bearded minors of dubious origins (fresh off violence/thuggery in Syria or Libya?) washing up at the EUs Eastern borders if the war drags on and Russia starts flying in these wasters in desperation.
That is good for Russia either way I suppose. If they will fight great, if not they will run off and (hopefully) create some trouble for the EU similar to hybrid warfare with fake refugees that Russia's puppet in Belarus was doing to Lithuania and Poland last year.
