Have the law society said this will be the last online sitting?
hope it isn't! way easier typing and not having to go to a venue in dublin
What is everyone focusing on for EU? I am so behind all I have so far (only learned bits from each) is:
FMOG & Services
Art 263 Judicial Review
Institutions
Direct Effect
Need to add in something else, any suggestions?
Yeah, they're basically only online to provide some certainty just in case something happened re: lockdowns and they all had to be put online again. However, as per everything with the law society...that could change again!
EU Institutions or General Principles and you should be set.
I'm doing
General principles/fundamental rights
Direct/indirect effect & MS liability
FMOW & Citizenship
FMOG x2
Judicial review
And really really hoping that covers me 😅 must add Ive company tomo too so really have not been giving it much attention 🙈
I do but genuinely cannot unbind it to scan in. I can tell you any Q you want to know though.
Overall he said pass mark was under 50%. SLP was disappointing and a lack of understand between relationship of holding & subsidiary.
Restriction apparently disappointing considering its featured in last 5 exams.
Then general review of Qs
Can we wear headphones/airpods during the exam?
Housemates are all working from home, and found the house very loud last week during criminal, even if i could use earbuds or something to block out the noise for exams this week.
LS emailed us on the 10th March about the exams. One of the attachments had the rules for the exam which stated headphones or earbuds are permitted.
We can :) I use earbuds to block out the worlds most annoying dog. Never been an issue and this is my 6th online exam. I also take like 3 bathroom breaks and it's never been an issue.
The rules i got say: "No headphones, ear buds or other phones are permitted."
Mine is through Zoom?! What's the better examinations?
Are you sitting the exam from another country?
Better Examinations is the main software for the fe1 online exams. I have however heard of other people who did them through Zoom but there was individual reasons for this.
I have:
FMOG x 2
FMOP and Citizenship
A102 and Mergers
I've learned 5 cases for casenotes (for back up)
I feel like I need to add something else but don't know between JR and FR.
🤢
I think you'll definitely get 5 questions out of what you have so far
Does the last bit you typed save when it comes up that you’re out of time press submit?
Hey for people who answered the winding up question today, I answered the question the following way:
From the question it seemed to me as if they were asking a situation where the creditor is seeking a winding up order due to inability to pay debt so I didn't really talk about anything else under S.569. Wondering if anyone else approached it the same way?
SAMWFE1 - I stuck to roughly the same headings as you have outlined. I confined my answer to s569d ie inability to pay debts, abuse of process, injunctions - re pageboy, meridian etc
I did stress the €10,000 21 day letter thing as he had highlighted it in a previous exam report
I also stated the current changes to winding up under the Companies 2020 act.
That's good to know we answered pretty much the exact same except I didn't mention the 2020 Act - I'd say you'll definitely get one or two extra marks for that! Thank you.
Relatively the same.
Left out the first point and the injunction to restrain petition. And we know how fickle Courtney can be…
Got 5 good questions down. Hope he passes me, because my patience is now non existent haha!
Is he known to be a tough marker? It's my first time sitting Company but I did see that the pass rate for the last sitting was less than 50%!
Company March 2022, my recollection of paper:
Q1 - Section 31 Contract
Q2 - receivers duties PQ
Q3 - Table A
Q4 - directors duties PG and remedies
Q5- registration of charges PQ - unregistered fixed charge and registered charges over book debts.
Q6- striking off and restoration essay
Q7- ultra vires essay
Q8 - winding up
Q4/5 might be other way around in order.
Tough marker. To be fair though, tells a student exactly what he wants from the examiner reports.
Did anyone do the corporate governance essay? I think I made a fudge of it, if anyone is willing to share what they wrote?
Hey anyone have any pointers for the best thing to study for Competition Law? I have Article 101 and 102 done but I'd say it's unlikely either will come up as they both did in October.
I've only done Article 102 as I think thats more likely to come up. Some people have done Mergers but i haven't.
Does anyone have sample answers for Constitution, 1500 words max? I’m willing to pay for decent samples or alternatively swap, this is my last one, so I more or less have everything for the others. TIA
OK so i'm ever so slightly panicking for EU where as all along i thought i was fine with my topics. I'm covering:
FMOG X2
Direct Effect and MS
Judicial Review
General Principles
EU Institutions
Article 102 of Competition Law.
What i know, i know quite well, but am I leaving myself short do ye think??
Anyone have notes on art 30 and 110 for EU please
What is everyone focusing on for tort?
