The Moscow Times have articles to that effect:
I'm talking more so of an adaptation of the technology, it probably wouldn't look like the loose version we see today. It would be centralised and managed by the state with checking etc. Nobody would want to rob your wallet because they'd be caught as soon as they tried to spend it.
The idea has pros and cons, and I'm no expert but i've just heard that the move toward that kind of system hands a lot of power to the state. They are implementing it too, it's not a matter of will it or won't it happen. It's a question of what it might look like.
US journalist confirmed shot dead

reason I bring it up is the possibility that we are seeing the beginnings of exactly that sort of massive change. I don't think it's something we will have to worry about tomorrow or next year. But if this war expands and the world indeed splits into two main power blocs with limited trade between them, won't this force India, Russia, China et al to work faster and harder on those programs, thereby accelerating the change?
It's not the first account to make the claim but neither have backed up their claim ,
Where are you getting all this from? “Peace talks going well? “ etc
According to Russian sources .
Likely no deal anytime soon
Fine. I probably deserved that part, and Ballybunion is lovely, but what about the substance of the post? No reserve currency lasts forever. What makes you so absolutist about it? Absolutism is for fools, Dem/GOP hacks and people that like the sound of their own voice.
And why on earth should anyone defer to you over a Credit Suisse analyst?
It could be argued that will all of this focus on laundered money now, Crypto might become less popular
The problem is the cybersecurity element. If somebody robs my crypto wallet, it is a lot harder to get the money back.
The technolgy is being taken on though and we'll soon have a move to a digital €, $, £ etc. It has the risk of facilitating social scoring or the likes.
They do, and have the only EU army worth a damn, but the French establishment have been riddled with defeatism since WW1, their media have never seen a war that they thought could be won.
I remember there were posters with the same conviction regarding Russia invading Ukraine. They said never ever ever…
That said, I hope that you are right and I am wrong
Peace talks are looking good..behind the scenes negotiations ongoing ..putin knows he got himself in to something he thought would be a cakewalk. So to look good and save face he will accept a deal which doesn't make him look silly..it was never ever going to head in to any dangerous territory..the Americans knew that and nato..no panic. They knew Russia were bluffing but didn't want to poke the bear too much. No ww3 folks never was it ever going down that route..putin wants a legacy to be left in the eyes of his people..
Crypto has been very lacklustre during the war. It has dipped in price. It is one of those things which in theory should take over the market. But the reality is that it just lacks that certain edge
Long live Ukraine.
China will certainly have some stipulations of their own before they entertain the idea of that.
A global currency, which no doubt will be digital, is a terrifying concept unless it is decentralised which is unlikely.
So the territory that Russia seized by proxy in Eastern Ukraine is the reason why they are invading the rest of Ukraine, got it.
It will be interesting to see how the US-Chinese talks go in Italy on Monday.
Russia states that it is relying on China to mitigate the economic consequences of the sanctions
This time last week we were certain that the Russians would take Kyiv in the coming days. Hopefully, this won’t be the case again in the week ahead
Definitely looks that way
They do in Europe anyway. You would think people would even know about ww1 but there was only one war in history for most people.
I see the Russian finance minister has said he wants to repay certain foreign debts in roubles and has admitted they'll have problems servicing their debts - should do wonders for their international credit from anyone, a massive sign basically saying that Russia has problems covering obligations
Yeah they are gearing up for some sort big push soon it seems
Russia forces now in irpin in numbers
Bit weird.
If I remember correctly they have the most successful land army in history.
This is essentially the US-wing of RT:
without a doubt there would be a Ukrainian offensive and Russian forces would be hammered from both sides and by drone attack.
If events in Belarus were to go the Ukrainian way the Russians would have nowhere to go.
This kind of thing can really sway American public opinion.
Waiting for Tucker Carson to speculate it was a Ukrainian ambush.
