'Hemming and hawing about banning Russia Today'
I don't find this convincing at all. As I've asked before since when does Ireland ban TV stations? Not in living memory.
And now reluctance to censor is being characterised 'Pro-Putin'?
Unlike the early covid threads, there are only about 12 or so diehard pro-war posters on this thread all talking to each other. A lot of people aren't biting.
He's giving Ukraine a pretty good reason for further militarisation at the moment.
Stop projecting.
Jaworów (no idea what's the Ukrainian spelling) was attacked with rockets. 35 people dead. The town is 20 km from Polish border. There was a base for some pacekeeping and military training with instructors from NATO countries.
British government: The attack on a Ukrainian military training center near the Polish border is a major escalation- 35 dead
The one other option to put an end to the present conflict is the one which ended the WW2 and which would mean taking Russias ability to retaliate out first and then inflict defeat via conventional or non conventional means
Doing nothing, we risk appeasing Putin with the growing possibility that if he succeds other countries in Europe may also be invaded. The problem there is that option requires support across multiple countries and alliances.
Okey doke.
It isn't me saying so. It's basic observable reality, which you reject, saying so.
Not aware of any supremacist adaptation. But, =/= has been used in social media for decades. If he didn't understand it he could have looked it up. Google works 24/7.
Ive stopped reading the majority of posts here as most are not worth the effort
Now I browse the pages for the links to various articles and twitter posts.
Big thanks to those who've been posting those consistently
How is that an escalation ? ... that complex should have been attacked on day one .... its a military target
Belarus have a chance to go towards the West (probably they would pay with blood for it) or sink with Putin. I hope the citizen of Belarus are not as brainwashed or scared as Russians and they will try to get rid of Lukashenka.
That's Jaworów.
In this case though, its not the usual "Mens War's" its one pure evil murderous bastard's war.
I don't know how far Putin really wants to go with all of this, but given his army's performance in Ukraine so far, I don't think he'd be in much of a position to really push on if Ukraine is subdued, presuming this thing at least goes until Kyiv falls. Just holding Ukraine would be an immense challenge. He tries to push into anything NATO and his forces are looking at being routed, and Putin will have to run home crying and shouting about his nuclear arsenal.
I'd agree with your assessment. The interesting take away is why the UK are saying it's an escalation.
Ive been providing whatever funding I can for miltary aid to Ukraine, you can too
Be great if his military overthrew him
Tell you, what - hypothetically when I think about the same happening to us, I don't have to think twice. I'd fight for this beautiful island. But **** me, I cannot believe there are some people who would say, it is not really worth it and they should not fight for their once peaceful cities. "I don't understand why these people are bothering". Of course it is, they feel the pride within for their country within.
Land is not just the territory, it's the people, the culture, the rich history that we want to pass onto future generations. The freedom. The pride. When this is attacked, there is no option but to fight.
We are only a drop in time, somethings are worth fighting for.
Strong energy of one of your mates getting you into a scrap
Agreed. I give it a few hours then catch up and zero in on the news/updates.
Is it time for the west to fight against Russia?
Also, they were literally **** invaded. While there is some realpolitik here about donbass etc, Russia should be made to pay the price.
Even if nuclear weapons didn't exist, war with Russia wouldn't be a small matter and victory wouldn't be guaranteed.
Biden is sly and he can bleed Putin's Russia by funneling weapons to Zelensky and his people.
Don't imagine nuclear weapons are the only reason NATO sits on the sidelines.
Well that’s not gonna last long.
Poland's humanitarian response has been inspiring. A credit to Europe.
Similarly for Moldova... one of Europe's smallest countries. They are going to need a lot of help too in dealing with the waves of people fleeing the conflict.
