Yes at the end of the day when you scratch the surface we are all still animals when faced with a battle for survival.
The problem is unlike sparrows the progress of humanity has eliminated any fight based on security of food and breeding rights, so instead establishment of power over others needs to come from psychological means. Fear is the most vulnerable aspect of the human mind, like most animals we are born with only two, noise and falling. The prospect of 'what might be' is entirely of our own invention.

Iran backed militias previously
@Bayonet - What I'm trying to say is, we're no different to sparrows.
A well intentioned analogy.
However, as the most intelligent and remarkable species on earth you would have thought mankind would at the very least ensure that we live in harmony.
Plus we don't have feathers.
I think that was a few days ago. Wasn't Iran but Iran backed militias. Them divils do be always out causing trouble.
An airbase I'm seeing.
Nothing on that anywhere.
Link?
Well there is no harm in trying to take advantage of the situation. Might tidy the place up a bit
Fair points. OK. It's Plan B so to unite humanity and save the world: Fake alien invasion.
Off topic a bit, but something is going down with Iran/Iraq. Looks like Iran has hit the US embassy in Iraq with ballistic missiles.
Can't un-invent things. Nukes are here to stay. Sure, the US and Russia could agree to reduce from 1,200 to 500. Doesn't particularly matter. We already have all sorts of controls on weapons and where they can be used. As you can see with Russia, they're not too bothered about the 'law' and neither was Assad.
Cluster bombs on civilian targets are against international law, but Russia still uses them for that. Just as domestic laws don't stop all crime, international laws regarding war are flouted regularly. Again, there is no utopia. There's only bad and less bad, good and less good.
The problem is that they have been refusing to supply non-Soviet equipment with the exception of "simple" stuff like ATGMs, RPGs etc.
I suspect the US is just sending more of the same; although obviously I hope not.
To Cyrilic?
That's incredibly defeatist - at least wait antil they attack.
I know this is the Internet, but I think you took that poster's meaning completely wrong. Re-read their post.
Just about sums up certain posters. You read buzz-words in a person’a post. You are sufficiently discourteous that you do not even bother reading past the buzz words. You jump to erroneous conclusions and mislabel the poster. You inferred the exact opposite meaning from my post than what I actually intended. And then you proceed to insult me. A bit of self-reflection is required, perhaps?
Also, perhaps you should read a dictionary and discover the meaning of offensive and defensive
It' didn't go far. i believe it's moored in Kalliningrad, or at least that is where it was reported to have gone at the time.
I can do better - sorry, worse - Arresting a woman who was holding up ablank sign:
I think the US has been hinting that they will send more sophisticated AA and other weapons
I have some breaking news for you that may astonish: Ukraine did not attack Russia, so trying to spin them as being as bad as Russia had they done something they didn't, is hoping we are fools. Sod off with that Russian slime think.
I don't know, any videos i've seen they seem to be more interested in promoting themselves on social media well behind the frontline.
That pic could be from anywhere
Agree with gist and there will always be bad actors, but there are some steps we can take... we can set thresholds and limits through weapons control for example.. maybe expand the list of banned weapons (autonomous robots are on the edge of legality), get serious about global disarmament.
The planet has enough problems and humanity faces enough challenges that we literally do not have the time, energy, or resources to be wasting on this kind of sh1te. (Ditto for other regions afflicted by war and conflict.)
Hopefully not Just manpads ,they could do with something with longer ranges to force Russian aircraft to stay further away,
They could.do a few C-rams to shoot down incoming missles and other munitions
Never stops being surreal
So was the purported translated intent of that video wrong, and the pilot was actually calling for Russian victory?
What a brilliantly put post.
Excellent.
And in a new low, the Russian scum have seized a humanitarian convoy intended for Mariupol and seized it's supplies, presumably to feed their own troops.
Boots on the ground, I say, and will continue to argue for.
Conflict is part of humanity as it's part in every animal species. Once you accept that there's no unicorn-filled utopia, then it's easier to see things more matter of fact. I've got about 30 sparrows that live in my garden. I feed them, so they stick around. They're very gregarious, they'll alert each other to food, will collectively alarm call when the Sparrowhawk swoops in, and they'll huddle in the winter for body warmth. They're about as community orientated as could be. However, every so often a mad argument breaks out. Chasing each other, tweeting like mad and trying to bite too.
What I'm trying to say is, we're no different to sparrows. Most of the time we get along, then we don't. Of course sparrows don't have nukes.
